Firmware Release v1.01.00
Firmware Release v1.01.00
When Spanning Tree Protocol is enabled in some configurations, memory may become
corrupted, causing the switch to hang. Firmware Release v1.01.00 corrects this problem.
Limitations
When monitoring ports on the switch, you will not see port activity for the corresponding port in
vertical alignment with the monitor port. This applies to traffic to or from the affected port, as well as inputs from other ports that output to the affected port. [CSCdk83884]
For example, if Port 1 is the Monitor port, you will not be able to see traffic going into or out of port 5, as well as any traffic coming into ports 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 that go out to port 5.
By default, Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) is disabled. When you enable CDP, the switch sends
and receives CDP packets. However, all CDP packets are forwarded to all ports. This results in an inaccurate topology display for the device in Cisco network management applications. [CSCdk59807]
You can only enable Spanning-Tree Protocol (STP) on VLAN 1. [CSCdk60304]
Usage Guidelines
The Cisco ConfigMaker CD that shipped with your switch does not support this device. Contact
your Cisco representative or reseller to receiv e the correct version, or download the lates t version from CCO.
Before connecting a Micro Switch to a modem, you should configure your modem to ignore
input from the data terminal equipment (DTE) during dial-out or dial-in. Without this precaution, there is a small chance that the modem could disconnect. Refer to your modem manual for the correct configuration command syntax.
