New Wireless Connection
To connect to a different wireless network:

1. Moveyourmousepointertothelower-

rightcornerofthescreen,thenclickSettings.
2. Clickthewirelessnetworkicon .TheNetwork
menuopens,showing youavailablewirelessnetworksandyourcurrentconne
ctionstatus.
3. Ifprompted,enteranyadditionalrequirednetworkinformation(suchaspassw
ord).

Afteryouhaveinstalledtheadapter,theWireless Network
Configuration utilityiconappearsonyourcomputer’ssystemtray.(Ifyoudono
tseethe icon,clicktheShow hidden iconsarrow inthesystemtray.)
Whenyourmousepointerhoversovertheicon,thestatusinformationof your
wirelessconnectionappears.
New Wireless Connection
To connect to a different wireless network:
1. ClicktheWireless Network
Configurationutilityicon.Alistofavailable wirelessnetworksappears.
2. Selectyournetwork,andthenclickConnect.
If your network does not use wireless security, your computer now conne
ctstothewirelessnetwork,andyouaredone.

3. EntertheWi-
FiProtectedAccess(WPA/WPA2)passphraseortheWired EquivalentPrivacy(
WEP)key(dependingonyourtypeofsecurity),then clickOK.
Windows Vista
Afteryouhaveinstalledtheadapter,theWireless Network
Configuration utilityiconappearsonyourcomputer’ssystemtray.

Whenyourmousepointerhoversovertheicon,thestatusinformationof yourwirelessconnectionappears.

Thisscreenappearswhiletheadapterconnectstoyournetwork.Donot cancel,unlessyouwanttoendtheconnection.

Yourcomputerisnowconnectedtoyourwirelessnetwork.

3. Selectyournetwork,thenclickConnect. 5. EntertheWi-FiProtectedAccess(WPA/WPA2)passphraseortheWired
EquivalentPrivacy(WEP)key(dependingonyourtypeofsecurity),then

Ifyournetworkdoesnotusewirelesssecurity,thisscreenappears.Click

Connect AnywayandgotoStep6.Thisscreenappearswhiletheadapterconnectstoyournetwork.Donot
cancel,unlessyouwanttoendtheinstallation.
Thisscreenappearswhenyouareconnectedtoyournetwork.

6. Ifyouwanttosaveyoursettings,selectSave this network.
7. ClickClose.
TheSetNetwork
Locationscreenmayappear.Thisscreenhelpsapplythe correctsettingsforyourt
ypeoflocation.
a. Click Home, Work, or Public
location, then click Close on the resultingscreen.

thenclickHelp and Support.
Yourcomputerisnowconnectedtoyourwirelessnetwork.
Windows XP
After you have installed the adapter, the Windows XP Wireless Zero
Configuration Utilityiconappearsonyourcomputer’ssystemtray.
Whenyourmousepointerhoversovertheicon,thestatusinformationof your
wirelessconnectionappears.

New Wireless Connection
To connect to a new wireless network:
1. Right-clicktheWindows XP Wireless Zero
Configurationiconinyour computer’ssystemtray,thenclickView
Available Wireless Networks.A
4. IfyournetworkusesWiredEquivalentPrivacy(WEP)wirelesssecurity, entertheWEPKeyintheNetwork
keyandConfirm networkkeyfields.If yournetworkusesWi-
FiProtectedAccess(WPA/WPA2)wirelesssecurity, enterthepassphraseintheNetwork
keyandConfirm networkkeyfields. ClickConnect.

2. Selectthenetworkthatyouwant,thenclickConnect.

WindowsXPWirelessZeroConfigurationdoesnotsupporttheuse ofaWEPpassphrase.EntertheexactWEPkeyusedbyyourwireless routeroraccesspoint.

IfyournetworkisusingWPA2security,makesurethatyouhave installedtheUpdateforWindowsXP(KB893357),availableat
Ifthenetworkuseswirelesssecurity,gotoStep4.Otherwise,continuewww.microsoft.com. toStep3.
3. Click Connect
Anyway to connect the adapter to your unsecured network.Yourcomputernowconnectstothewirelessnetwork,andyou
aredone.
YourwirelessnetworkwillappearasConnectedwhenyourconnection isactive.
