The challenge: How to improve upon the most dependable,

Add a 6.0L 345 horsepower VortecMAX V8 engine that
produces 380 lb.-ft. of torque. Build the first full-size hybird
pickup. With another first in its class – the enhanced
available Allison 1000 series six-speed automatic transmission
that’s mated with either the upgraded-for-2006 Duramax
6600 Diesel V8, now boasting up to 650 lb.-ft. of torque, or
Vortec 8100 V8 engines. With a new, boldly styled power
dome hood line on the 1500 Series. In short – the 2006
family of Chevy Silverado pickups are built on a rock-solid
foundation, which was used to set an even higher standard

a utilitarian work truck. The Silverado 1500 Crew Cab changed
all that. It’s the truck with a spacious and comfortable sixpassenger cab. And easy access through four wide-opening,
front-hinged full-size doors. And the driveability of a half-ton
pickup. And for 2006, the new Cheyenne Edition makes the
comfort of a Silverado Crew Cab even more affordable and still
extremely powerful, with its standard 285 hp Vortec 4800 V8.
No question: it’s a different brand of Crew Cab altogether: the
Silverado 1500 Crew Cab.

of the available heated front bucket seats with leather inserts.

Extended Cab, that’s only the starting point. Then choose the
configuration, model, powertrain and trim level that best fits
your priorities. For 2006, you get even more choice, with
a new available 5 ft. 8 in. short box and a new, available
Performance Edition that features the 345 horsepower 6.0L
VortecMAX V8 engine and beefy 20-in. wheels. All built with
the strength and dependability that Chevy’s famous for.

Step inside the Silverado 1500 Extended Cab and you’ll immediately
notice that this supremely capable pickup is also tremendously
well appointed. That point is really driven home by the advanced
comfort of the LT’s standard heated front bucket seats with
8-way power adjusters. But no matter which model you choose,
dual-zone climate controls are standard. As is the fold-down
storage armrest on LS models, in addition to the mini overhead
console that’s standard on LS and LT. Getting warmer in your
