DLM-107A Digital Length Meter
User’s Guide
The Model DLM-107 Digital Length Meter is designed to accurately measure fabric length (or other moving belt material), in feet or meters. The operator controls the start and end of the measuring interval by pressing the Measure Button. This procedure should be followed:
1. Affix the measuring wheel to the instrument shaft, being sure that the shaft cross pin engages the slot of the wheel hub. TIGHTEN THE HUB SET SCREW. With the handle held firmly using one or two hands, bring the wheel edge to the moving surface belt or fabric, supplying a light to moderate amount of pressure, only enough to assure good contact. There should be no indication in the LED readout.
2. To start measuring, press and hold the white push button on the handle. An increasing reading in feet will appear in the window. To end the measurement m release the button. The reading will be displayed for approximately 10 seconds and then disappear. To recall the measurement after the reading has disappeared, press the Memory Recall button on the face of the instrument. To clear the memory push and hold the memory button for 5 seconds.
Even though the measuring wheel continues to rotate after the switch is turned off or the wheel is lifted from the surface, the last reading will be held in memory. Measurement is made only during the period when the power is on. Reactivating the power switch erases the previous reading.
NOTE: a flashing display indicates battery low voltage.
Selecting Feet or Meters
By default the DLM is configured to measure FEET, to convert the unit to METERS, peel back the overlay surrounding the memory button (Fig
1). Rotate pot to point to "m" for meters or "ft" for feet. Reapply label after selecting.
