2. OPERATING
2.1 Language selection
When the device is off, keep the OK button pressed and then press the ON / OFF button. Press HOLD to validate English or press SELECT to validate French.
2.2 Measurement procedure
1. Activate the device by pressing the ON / OFF button.
2. Choose the desired measurement unit for temperature and air velocity (See Menu).
3. Choose the variable to be measured: air velocity and temperature or air flow (see Menu).
4. Place the probe in the correct air flow direction. For more accurate results, try to keep the axis of the vane within 20° of the air flow direction.
5. Wait a few seconds for the measurements to stabilise.
6. If necessary, freeze the display by pressing HOLD.
3. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
3.1 Choosing the measurement units
Press SELECT to enter the menu. Scroll down the menu with SELECT. When UNITS appears, enter with OK. Scroll down the air velocity measurements units by pressing SELECT. Press OK to validate your choice. Proceed the same way with the temperature measurements units.
3.2 Making an average calculation
Press SELECT to enter the menu. Scroll down the menu with SELECT. When AVERAGE appears, enter with OK. To start the average calculation press OK. Press OK again to stop the calculation. The result is displayed on the screen. To start another calculation, proceed the same way. To escape the function, press "ON / OFF / ESC".
3.3 Making an air flow calculation
Press SELECT to enter the menu. Scroll down the menu with SELECT. When FLOW appears, enter with OK.

Choose the type of duct: RECT. for rectangular or CIRC. for circular with SELECT and validate with OK. Choose the dimensions unit (mm or in) with SELECT and validate with OK. Enter the length of the duct in the case of a rectangular duct: modify each of the 4 digits with SELECT and validate with OK. Proceed the same way with the width or the diameter in the case of circular duct. The measurement is displayed on the screen. To modify the measurement unit once in the FLOW function, follow the measurement unit choice procedure above. To escape the FLOW function, press ON / OFF / ESC.
3.4 Making an air flow calculation with the C.A 825 cone
This function is available only if you possess an air flow measurement cone C.A 825. Otherwise refer to paragraph 3.3 Making air flow calculation Press SELECT to enter the menu. Scroll down the menu with SELECT. When C.A 825 CONE appears, enter with OK. The air flow is immediately displayed. For a measurement in supply, insert the vane in the cone with the arrow (on the top of the vane) turned toward the outside of the cone. For a measurement in exhaust, insert the vane in the cone with the arrow turned toward the inside of the cone.
3.5 Minimum and maximum values
For air velocity, press MIN / MAX one time to display the v alues min "m" and max "M". Press a second time to display the values for temperature. To escape this function, press ON / OFF / ESC.
3.6 Freezing the measurement
To freeze the measurement on the screen, press HOLD. To escape, press HOLD again.

5. MAINTENANCE
5.1 Cleaning
Clean the casing with a cloth and a little soapy water. Clean off with a damp cloth.
5.2 Changing battery
- Remove the protective covering
- Remove the battery cover
- Insert a 9V battery
- Replace the battery cover
- Replace the protective covering
5.3 Metrologic verification
It is essential that all measuring instruments are regularly calibrated.
For checking and calibration of your instrument, please contact our accredited laboratories (list on request) or the CHAUVIN ARNOUX subsidiary or your local agent.
