Your 60LCM/80LCM Refractor telescope includes: optical tube, StarPointer finderscope, motorized base, tripod, accessory tray, two eyepieces (9 mm & 25 mm), star diagonal, computerized hand control, and instruction manual.

Your 114LCM Newtonian telescope includes: optical tube, StarPointer finderscope, motorized base, tripod, accessory tray, two eyepieces (9 mm & 25 mm), computerized hand control, and instruction manual.

Assemble tripod by spreading the legs out until the center leg brace is fully extended.

Extend tripod legs 6 to 8 inches by lifting the tripod leg locking lever and pulling the leg to desired length and snapping down the lever.

Place the motorized base on top of the tripod making sure that the three round feet rest on the round flat pads on the inside of the tripod head.
To attach the accessory tray, line up notches and turn clockwise until tray tabs lock into place with the tripod brackets.

Mounting
Screw
Thread the mounting screw into the hole at the bottom of the motorized base. Tighten screw to secure the base to the tripod.
Properly assembled, the accessory tray should appear as pictured above.

Tube
Clamp
Loosen the altitude lock and rotate the tube clamp so that the telescope mounting knob is positioned on the top of the base. Then tighten the altitude lock by hand, but don’t over tighten.

Slide the optical tube dovetail into the fork arm as shown.
Refractor shown, the Newtonian mounts the same way.

NEWTONIANREFRACTOR
Select the low power (25 mm) eyepiece and insert it as shown above. Tighten silver screw to secure.

Secure the tube to the base by tightening the telescope mounting knob on the top of the base.
Insert the chrome barrel of the star diagonal into the focuser on your Refractor and tighten the two silver screws to secure in place.
The Newtonian telescope does not use this diagonal, skip this step.

REFRACTOR NEWTONIAN
Loosen the two Philips-head screws on the side of the fi nderscope and slide the clamp over the dovetail bracket. Secure the fi nderscope in place by tightening the two Philips-head screws.
Remove the small plastic tab under the battery cover by pulling it straight out. For longer battery life be sure to turn off fi nderscope when not in use.

Attach the plastic hand control holder to the tripod leg and slide the computerized hand control into the hand control holder.

Gently remove the battery holder from inside the battery compartment.

You are now ready to start using your LCM Refractor telescope.
Plug Computerized Hand Control into the “hand control” port on the fork arm.

Place 8-AA batteries (user supplied) inside the battery holder. Return the battery holder back inside the base and replace the cover.

You are now ready to start using your LCM Newtonian telescope.
Press the tab on the front of the battery compartment and remove the cover.

Remove the lens cap from the front of the telescope before you begin observing.
SOLAR WARNING: Never attempt
to view the sun through any telescope without a proper solar fi lter.
BEFORE YOU CAN BEGIN OBSERVING, YOU MUST SETUP YOUR HAND CONTROL, ALIGN YOUR FINDERSCOPE AND ALIGN YOUR TELESCOPE. STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED IN THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

Assemblez le trépied en écartant les pieds jusqu'à ce que l’entretoise centrale soit totalement étendue.

Étendez les pieds de 6 à 8 pouces en soulevant les leviers de verrouillage, puis en les étendant à la longueur désirée. Abaissez les leviers pour conserver le réglage.

Placez la base motorisée sur le dessus du trépied en vous assurant que les trois pieds ronds reposent sur les tampons plats ronds à l'intérieur de la tête de trépied.
Pour attacher le plateau pour accessoires, faites correspondre les encoches puis faites-le pivoter dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu’à ce que les pattes soient verrouillées sur les supports du trépied.

Vis de
fixation
Insérez la vis dans le trou situé en dessous de la base motorisée. Serrez la vis pour sécuriser la base sur le trépied.
La photo ci-dessus illustre le positionnement correct du plateau à accessoires.

Pince du
tube
Desserrez le bouton de verrouillage d'altitude d'un quart de tour et faire tourner la pince du tube afin que la molette de monture soit positionnée sur le dessus de la base. Resserrez le verrou d'altitude à la main, mais ne pas trop serrer.
