Finding the Camcorder Serial Number
Precautions When Installing
ImageMixer 3 SE (ImageMixer)
ImageMixer 3 must be installed in a personal computer in order to edit video, and record video on
DVD s and Blu-ray discs. Find the se rial numb er of the camcord er and install ImageMixer 3
according to the separate installation guide.
Finding the Serial Number
The serial number is
necessary to install
ImageMixer 3
When Imag eMixer 3 is inst alled, it wil l as k fo r the
serial number. Input the
12-digit serial nu mber wit hout any spaces.

The serial number is printed on the camcorder in a four-digit by three-
line format. The location of the serial number will vary depending on
the model, so find it by referring to the illustrations below.
This is the serial number. The 12-digit number is
printed in three four-digit lines. In this example the
serial number is 517006893241.

Launching ImageMixer 3 and Importing Video
Importing Video
from the Camcorder
In order to edit video, it must first be impor ted into the computer. ImageMixer 3 will start automatically when the camcorder and computer are connected with a USB cable. Follow the steps below
to import the video into the personal computer.
Connect the Camcorder to a Wall Outlet
Install ImageMixer 3
Refer to the separately included instructions and install ImageMixer 3. See
pages 2 and 3 of this m anual on how to f ind the serial numbe r.

It is also possible to impor t
video from SD memory
cards by usi ng a c ard r eader/w rite r wit h a USB connec tion. In thi s case, the
card reader/writer is connected to the compute r and
the me dia on which the video is re co rd ed is in se rt ed
into the reader/wri ter.

What is the difference
between "v id eo not

and "all video"?
When "Import the video
fi le s which hav e no t be en
saved in the comput er " is
selected, only video that
has not been saved will be
impor ted. When "Import all
vid eos" is selected, all the
vi de o fi les in the "S ou rc e"
are impor ted. In the latter
case, all video will be importe d, including video t hat
is alrea dy in the computer.
The [Video

Selecting Video
Preparing to Edit Video
You can edit the video after it has been impor ted into the computer. First, select the video to edit
from among the impor ted files and then save the information as a project.
Selecting the Video File to Edit
What is a project?
When editing video, one
production can be made
up of m ulti ple vide o fil es,
and text and musi c can be
added. A project is a rec ord
of all of t hese steps. Th e
se lec te d v ide o fil es and
edit ed inf orma tion can be
saved as a proje ct. When
you star t ed it ing video ,
think of it a s, "Star ting to
create a project."
How to select multiple
video files
After select ing one video,
ho ld down the [Shif t] key
and sel ect anot her. All of
the video files in bet wee n
will also be selected. Holdin g dow n th e [ Ct rl ] key and
clicki ng video files will se lect
all the files that were clicked.
Start ImageMixer
3 as described in
Lesson 1.
❶ Click [ Video file

edit].
Double click a
video file to start
playing it to
check its
contents.

video file to be
edited.
