Description
This Campbell Hausfeld propane torch is a versatile tool with many applications from stump burning to cattle branding. With it, you can
• Kill unwanted weeds and grass without using expensive and toxic chemicals.
• Melt ice from sidewalks without salt, and thaw (outdoor) frozen pipes in the winter.
• Use the torch to heat tar in roofing and asphalt sealing projects.
• Soften paint for removal without using chemicals.
This torch should be used with a 20# LP tank with a standard POL type valve. (like the type typically used with a gas grill). With the trigger-activated turbo burner, you save fuel by emitting heat only when it is needed.

Safety Information
(Cont.)
• This product is intended for outdoor use only.
This product produces a
flame that can cause other combustible and flammable materials to burn. For example, if using the flame
to soften paint on wood, you can damage or even ignite the wood.
• Do not use the torch around any flammable fluids, gasses, or materials.
• NEVER direct the torch flame toward the hose or gas tank. DO NOT apply heat or flame to the tank to check for leaks or increase gas pressure.
• Always wear ANSI-approved safety goggles when assembling and using this product. Long sleeves, gloves, and boots are recommended.
• If you are using this product and notice a gas odor, immediately shut off the tank valve. Extinguish any open flame. Check the device for leaks using soapy water. DO NOT attempt to reignite the device until all leaks are repaired and there is no gas smell.
• Do not operate this product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• IN DAYLIGHT, THE TORCH FLAME IS BARELY VISIBLE. DO NOT place hand or any other body part in the path of the flame while lighting or operating the torch.
• Before use, determine whether any materials that will be heated by the torch will ignite, explode, or produce toxic fumes. DO NOT allow flame or heat to come into contact with any such materials.
• Never point the torch toward any person or animal.
• Never allow children to use the propane torch. Keep children and pets away from this product when in use.
• Do not leave the torch unattended while in operation.
• Do not stand or prop the torch on the burner end while in operation.
• Do not try to enlarge or make any modifications to the nozzle outlet. The nozzle and orifice are precisely matched. Any modification can create the possibility of liquid propane release.
• This product is designed to be operated on vapor withdrawal LP (liquid propane) gas only. Use of any other gas may result in device failure or personal injury.
• This product should be used with 20# propane cylinders with standard POL valve fittings. It should meet or exceed NFPA 58, “Standard for the storage and handling of liquefied petroleum gasses.”
• Before each use, always check fittings and connections to make sure there are no leaks.
• When not in use, the gas should be turned off at the LP gas tank.
• The LP tank must be on a level surface in an upright position. Do not invert or lay tank on its side.
• Have an ABC type fire extinguisher readily accessible at the work site.
• Before each use, check the gas hose for wear, cuts, or leaks. If the hose is more than 5 years old (as marked on the hose), replace it.
• Do not attempt to repair. Contact Campbell Hausfeld for replacement under warranty.
Never store a torch that is still hot.
Be aware that the nozzle of the torch
becomes very hot when in use.
Do not lift the propane tank by the
valve.

Assembly
GAS LINE TO TORCH
With the wrenches provided, assemble gas line to torch handle. Use one wrench to hold torch fitting so it does not turn in the torch handle. Use the other wrench to tighten gas hose fitting onto handle fitting. The gas fitting uses a left-handed thread. Turn
counterclockwise
to tighten. (See
Figure 2.)
GAS LINE TO CYLINDER
Insert hose fitting into gas cylinder valve and turn counterclockwise
to tighten. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the fitting. (See Figures 3 and
4.)
Lighting Instructions
1. Be sure gas valve on torch is closed
tightly — turn tight clockwise (see Figure 5).
2. Open valve on propane cylinder and
check all components for leaks (use soapy water or leak test solution).
DO NOT operate if
any leaks are present. A leak may create a fire hazard.
