Connecting the Extenders
Note-If you do not have Cat5 cable already installed in-wall and you plan on installing Cat5
behind the wall, we recommend hooking up everything before you install the cable to make sure everything will be functional in your application.
1. Turn off your PC and monitor.
2. Connect a DVI male to male cable between the PC and the “DVI In” port on the DVI-L (DVI-Local) unit.
3. Connect a DVI male to male cable between the monitor and the “DVI Out” port on the DVI-R (DVI-Remote) unit.
4. Use two Cat5 cables connecting the ends to the “Video” port and DDC on the DVI-L unit and the other ends to the “Video” and DDC port on the DVI-R unit.
5. Use the two power adapters to connect each unit to an electrical outlet.
6. Turn on the PC and monitor.
Note: The purpose of the DDC (Data Display Channel) is to provide communication capability between a source and a display. The channel provides configuration information to allow such features as “Plug & Play”, and give you optimal performance from your display.

No picture
1. Make sure to use Cat5e cables. Other category cables may work, but results cannot be guaranteed using other types.
2. Be sure that each unit is positioned correct. The remote unit should connect to the display, and the local unit should connect to your PC.
3. Check to see if the power indicator lights are on and
the units are plugged in.
