Intelligent Mail (IM) barcodes

PrintForm now supports Intelligent Mail (IM) barcodes. PrintForm will support both the Postnet barcode and the new Intelligent Mail barcode for the transition period where the USPS allows mailers to use either one.
You cannot intermix the Postnet and IM barcodes on dif f ere nt ou tp ut fi les. PrintForm displays an error message if it detects a job set up like this.
Tray/Sack and Container (Pallet) Intelligent Mail barcodes are handled in the same way that Presort and Label Studio currently handle them. Set up Presort to post information to a container output file which Label Studio then picks up for tag or placard printing.

New IM barcode field During the Define Statement Fields step, PrintForm uses the 65 character field,

IMB_ADR_EC for IM barcode processing. You must post either the Presort IMB_ADR_EC or IMB_ADR_AC field to this field during input posting as these fields include the encoded barcode string.

New Barcode Type option

The Barcode Type option enables you to choose to print the Postnet barcode or the Intelligent Mail barcode.
1. To access Printer Barcode Setup, select Tools > Printer Barcode and select New Setup or Open Setup.
2. From
Printer Barcode Setup options, select a Barcode Type of Postnet

Selective Duplexing filter option

The Filter Builder option is now available in Duplex Processing options. Access Duplex Processing options and choose the filt er that you want to use. You
can either choose an existing filter from the drop-down list or click the button to go to a window where you can set up a new filter. T o duple x all sta tements, leave this option blank.

New Statement file field

The 1-character field, STM_DUPLEX_FLAG is available in the PrintForm statement file (.stm). During the duplex processing step, this field will be set with a value of Y to indicate duplex filter returned TRUE for that statement. All statement file (.stm) records will have the STM_DUPLEX_FLAG set to Y if no duplex filter is specified. Later during merge processing step, the STM_DUPLEX_FLAG field will be used to determine if the statement should be treated as duplexed.
Notes:
A banner page that precedes a duplexed statement will also be duplexed. When using a duplex filter, it is possible that combined statements could
be created where some of the component statements are flagged as duplex and some are not. PrintForm will not assume the best way to correct this situation, but will display a warning if this situation occurs. You are resposible for coordinating the duplex and statement combine values to prevent duplexed and non-duplexed statements from being combined.
