Welcome to BusinessObjects™ Metadata Management XI 3.0 version 12.0.0.
This document highlights the new features available with this release.
Metadata Management XI 3.0 is now integrated with BusinessObjects
Enterprise XI 3.0 to provide a single point of administration.
For important information about this product release including compatibility
notes, resolved issues, and known issues, see the Metadata Management
Release Notes.

BusinessObjects Enterprise integration
BusinessObjects Enterprise integration
This release integrates Metadata Management administration functions into
BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 and provide the following benefits:
• Leverages the robust BusinessObjects Enterprise architecture and
services.
• Single log on to the Central Management Console and Metadata
Management administration.
• Distributed deployment to load balance metadata integrator runs.
Metadata Management is now an application on the Central Management
Console, and it uses the following services that BusinessObjects Enterprise
provides:
• Security for user management and access to Metadata Management
integrator sources, source groups, Metapedia, Metadata Management
utilities.
• Managing and scheduling integrator source runs and Metadata
Management utilities runs.

Management Administration
InfoView integration
You can now launch the Metadata Management Explorer from InfoView and
view data lineage for Business Intelligence (BI) reports form InfoView. This
feature provides easy access to metadata for business users from within
their familiar BI reporting portal.

Metadata source groups
Metadata Management provides the capability to group metadata integrator
sources to enable you to perform efficient and targeted analysis on a subset
of metadata.

Metapedia
BusinessObjects Metadata Management Metapedia allows you to implement
a business glossary of terms related to your business data and organize the
terms hierarchically. Using Metapedia promotes a common, consistent
understanding within an organization of business terms, allowing business
users access to information using terms from the perspective of business
users. At the same time, data stewards have an easy mechanism to promote
data governance.

Relationship diagram enhancements
This version provides enhancements to the relationship diagrams (Related
To, Impact, and Lineage) in the Metadata Management Explorer that allow
you to:
• Specify a source group to view metadata from specific integrator sources.
• Change the number of objects that appear by setting new options to show
filters and WHERE clause objects.
• Change the size of the viewing area.

Broader platform support
This release expands the platform support beyond Microsoft Windows and
Apache Tomcat to include UNIX operating systems (Linux, Solaris, and IBM
AIX), as well as other application servers, such as IBM WebSphere, Oracle
BEA WebLogic, and Oracle Application Server. For additional information,
