Your YARDAGE PRO SCOUT is a precision instrument designed to provide many years of enjoyment.
This booklet will help you achieve optimum performance by explaining its adjustments and features as
well as how to care for this precise laser rangefinding instrument. To ensure optimal performance and
longevity, please read these instructions before using your YARDAGE PRO Scout.

IntroductIon

Your Bushnell YARDAGE PRO SCOUT is the world’s smallest and most advanced laser rangefinder.
Using Digital Technology and measuring a mere 1.5x4x2.75 inches and weighing 6.8 ounces, the
YARDAGE PRO SCOUT delivers superb and accurate range performance to +/- one yard. Range to
a deer as far as 300 yards out or to a tree at 570 yards away for a reference point. The unique shape and
palm size allows outdoor enthusiasts to easily grip the rangefinder with a single hand and drop it into a
pocket when not in use.

The rugged and weather resistant YARDAGE PRO SCOUT features popular “Scan” and “>150” modes
and includes a carrying case. Scan mode provides continuous distance measurements as multiple targets
in the field of view are scanned. The “>150” mode only captures distance measurements of objects
greater than 150 yards away, enabling distance measurement through foreground clutter like brush and
branches.

The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT emits invisible, eyesafe, infrared energy pulses. Sophisticated digital
technology and a high-speed clock are used to instantaneously calculate distances, by measuring the time
it takes for each pulse to travel from the rangefinder, to the target, and back.

The ranging accuracy of the YARDAGE PRO SCOUT is plus or minus one yard / meter under most
circumstances. The maximum range of the instrument depends on the reflectivity of the target. The
maximum distance for most objects is 570 yards / 521 meters while for highly reflective objects the

maximum is 700 yards / 640 meters. Note: You will get both longer and shorter maximum distances
depending on the reflective properties of the particular target and the environmental conditions at the
time the object is being distanced to.

The color, surface finish, size and shape of the target all affect reflectivity and range. The brighter the color,
the longer the range. Red is highly reflective, for example, and allows longer ranges than the color black,
which is the least reflective color. A shiny finish provides more range than a dull one. A small target is more
difficult to range than a larger target. The angle to the target also has an effect. Shooting to a target at a
90 degree angle (where the target surface is perpendicular to the flight path of the emitted energy pulses)
provides good range while a steep angle on the other hand, provides limited ranging. In addition, lighting
conditions (e.g. the amount of sunlight) will affect the ranging capabilities of the unit. The less light (e.g.
overcast skies) the farther the unit’s maximum range will be. Conversely, very sunny days will decrease the
unit’s maximum range.

operatIonal summarY

While looking through the monocular, depress the power button once to
activate the inview display system (LCD). Aim the YARDAGE PRO SCOUT
at a target at least 10 yards away, depress and hold the power button down
until range reading is displayed. Release the power button. Your YARDAGE
PRO SCOUT features an adjustable eyepiece. Simply rotate the monocular
until the reticle and object distanced to are in focus to your eye. Note: Once
activated, the YARDAGE PRO SCOUT’s LCD will remain active and display
the last distance measurement for 6 seconds. You can depress the power button
again at any time to distance to a new target. As with any laser device, it is
not recommended to directly view the emissions for long periods of time with
magnified lenses.

Features

The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT’s sophisticated digital technology allows you to select between various
units of measure and targeting modes. In addition, your YARDAGE PRO SCOUT’s LCD incorporates
illuminated indicators that advise you when the laser is active and when the battery charge is low. A
summary of these features is presented below:

UNIT OF MEASURE OPTIONS
The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT can be used to measure distances in yards or meters. The unit of measure
indicators are located in the upper right portion of the LCD. To select between yards and meters, look
through the monocular, depress the “mode” button (left side of the unit underneath the BUSHNELL
YARDAGE PRO logo) and hold it down for approximately 2 seconds. If you are changing from yards
to meters, a change in unit of measure will be indicated by the illumination of the letter M for METER
indicator while the YD for YARD indicator is turned off. If you are changing from meters to yards, the
opposite will occur. Note: The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT will return to the last setting used, each time
the unit is turned on.

TARGETING MODES

The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT incorporates exclusive targeting modes that allow you to adjust the
performance parameters of the unit to suit your specific situation and environment. The different targeting
modes available are listed below:

Standard (LCD Indicator - none): This setting allows most targets to be distanced up to 570 yards. Used
for moderately reflective targets that are typical of most distancing situations. The minimum distance in
the standard mode is 10 yards.

SCAN (LCD Indicator - “SCAN”): When the Power button is held down longer than 3 seconds, the
unit transitions to SCAN mode. This mode allows the range to be continuously updated as long as the
Power button remains depressed. The word “SCAN” will blink and appear in the left side of the LCD
once this mode is activated.

>150 (LCD Indicator - “>150”): This mode can be used to ignore energy pulses reflecting off objects
less than 150 - 165 yards / meters away. It would typically be used when distancing through brush to an
object further than 150 yards / meters away. Note: In this mode, the system will not measure to targets
less than 150 yards / meters.

To select >150 Mode, while looking through the monocular, depress and release the mode button. Note:
The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT will return to the last setting used, each time the unit is turned-on.

IllumInatIng IndIcators

Low Battery Charge (LCD Indicator - ): When both dashes inside the battery symbol are displayed,
the battery is fully charged. When the dashes start to fade away, it means the battery charge is getting low
and the 3-volt lithium battery should be replaced.

The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT’s monocular is equipped with a rubber eyecup designed for your comfort
and to exclude extraneous external light. If you wear sun / eyeglasses, roll down the eyecup. This will bring
your eye closer to the ocular lens, thus providing improved field of view.

The YARDAGE PRO SCOUT features a Perma Focus monocular optical system for viewing your
target. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is mounted within the optical system and when activated, displays
a reticle for targeting, yard / meter and mode designations, and low battery indicators. Inherent in
the manufacturing process are small black spots that appear in the optical system. These are a natural
characteristic of the LCD, cannot be fully eliminated in the manufacturing process and do not affect the
distancing performance of the unit.

cleanIng

Gently blow away any dust or debris on the lenses (or use a soft lens brush). To remove dirt or fingerprints,
clean with a softcotton cloth, rubbing in a circular motion. Use of a coarse cloth or unnecessary rubbing
may scratch the lens surface and eventually cause permanent damage. For a more thorough cleaning,
photographic lens tissue and photographic-type lens cleaning fluid or isopropyl alcohol may be used.
Always apply the fluid to the cleaning cloth - never directly on the lens.

TWO-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Your Bushnell® product is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for two years
after the date of purchase. In the event of a defect under this warranty, we will, at our option, repair or
replace the product, provided that you return the product postage prepaid. This warranty does not cover
damages caused by misuse, improper handling, installation, or maintenance provided by someone other
than a Bushnell Authorized Service Department.

If unit does not turn on - LCD does not illuminate:

• Depress power button.

• Check and if necessary, replace battery.

If unit powers down (display goes blank when attempting to power the laser):

• The battery is either weak or low quality. Replace the battery with a good quality lithium battery.

There is no reset button to clear last range reading before ranging another target:

• The last range reading does not need to be cleared before ranging another target. Simply aim at the new
target using the LCD’s reticle, depress the power button and hold until new range reading is displayed.

If target range cannot be obtained:

• Make sure LCD is illuminated.

• Make sure that the power button is being depressed (as opposed to mode button).

• Make sure that nothing, such as your hand or finger, is blocking the objective lenses (lenses closest to the
target) that emit and receive the laser pulses.

• Make sure unit is held steady while depressing power button.

• Make sure that the targeting mode selected is the appropriate mode for that specific situation or
environment. SCAN and >150 modes have different minimum distance and sensitivity to a specific
target’s reflectivity levels.

IntroductIon

Le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT de Bushnell est le télémètre à laser le plus petit et le plus perfectionné du monde.

Le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT robuste et résistant aux intempéries dispose des modes favoris d'exploration

La plage de précision du YARDAGE PRO SCOUT est de plus ou moins un yard / mètre dans la plupart
des situations. La portée maximale de l'instrument dépend de la réflectivité de la cible. La distance
maximale pour la plupart des objets est de 570 yards / 521 mètres alors que pour des objets fortement
réfléchissants, elle est de 700 yards / 640 mètres. Remarque : On obtient des distances maximales plus
longues ou plus courtes selon les propriétés de réflexion des cibles et les conditions de l'environnement au
moment de la mesure des distances.

La couleur, le fini de surface, la taille et la forme de la cible affectent sa réflectivité et la portée de la mesure.
Plus la couleur est vive, plus la portée est longue. Le rouge, couleur fortement réfléchissante, par exemple,
permet des portées plus longues que le noir, couleur moins réfléchissante. Un fini brillant permet une
portée plus longue qu'un fini mat. Il est plus difficile de viser une cible de petite taille qu'une de grande
taille. L'angle vers la cible a aussi un effet. La visée d'une cible à un angle de 90 degrés (où la surface de
la cible est perpendiculaire à la trajectoire des impulsions d'énergie émises) permet une grande portée
alors que la visée à angle aigu ne permet qu'une portée limitée. De plus, les conditions d'éclairage (ex. la
quantité de lumière solaire) affectent la portée de l'instrument. Moins il y a de lumière (ex. ciel couvert),
plus la portée maximale augmente. Au contraire, par temps très ensoleillé, la portée maximale diminue.

rÉsumÉ du FonctIonnement

Tout en regardant dans le monoculaire, appuyer une fois sur le bouton de marche
pour activer l'affichage à cristaux liquides. Diriger le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT
vers une cible située à au moins 10 mètres ; appuyer sur le bouton de marche sans
le relâcher jusqu'à ce que le relevé de distance soit affiché. Lâcher le bouton. Le
YARDAGE PRO SCOUT comporte un oculaire réglable. Tourner simplement
le monoculaire jusqu'à ce que le réticule et l'objet dont on recherche la distance
soient au point par rapport à l'oeil. Remarque: Une fois activé, l'affichage du
YARDAGE PRO SCOUT reste actif et indique la dernière mesure de distance

l'instrument, sous le logo BUSHNELL YARDAGE PRO) sans le lâcher pendant environ 2 secondes. Si
l'on passe des yards aux mètres, un changement d'unité de mesure est indiqué par l'allumage de la lettre
M (pour MÈTRES) alors que l'indicateur YD (pour YARDS) est éteint. Si l'on passe des mètres aux yards,
l'opposé se produit. Remarque : Le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT revient au dernier réglage utilisé chaque
fois qu'il est mis en marche.

MODES DE VISÉE

Le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT comporte des modes de visée exclusifs permettant d'adapter les
paramètres de performance de l'instrument à une situation et à un en v i ronn e m e nt specfiques.
Les différents modes de visée disponibles figurent ci-dessous:

Standard (indicateur d'affichage - aucun) --

Ce réglage permet l'évaluation de la distance de la plupart des
cibles situées jusqu'à 521 mètres (570 yards). Il est utilisé pour des cibles modérément réfléchissantes qui sont
représentatives de la plupart des situations. La distance minimum au mode standard est de 9 mètres (10 yards).

Exploration (SCAN) (indicateur d'affichage - "SCAN") -- Lorsque le bouton de marche est maintenu
enfoncé plus de 3 secondes, l'instrument passe au mode d'exploration (SCAN). Ce mode permet à la
distance d'être continuellement mise à jour tant que le bouton de marche reste enfoncé. Le mot "SCAN"
clignote et apparaît du côté gauche de l'affichage une fois que ce mode est activé.

> 150 (indicateur d'affichage - "> 150") -- Ce mode peut être utilisé pour ignorer les impulsions
d'énergie qui sont réfléchies par des objets situés à moins de 150 - 165 yards / mètres. Il est généralement
utilisé pour l'évaluation des distances d'objets situés à plus de 150 yards / mètres et vus à travers des
broussailles. Remarque : Dans ce mode, l'instrument ne mesure pas la distance de cibles situées à moins
de 150 yards / mètres. Pour choisir le mode "> 150", tout en regardant dans le monoculaire, appuyer
sur le bouton de mode et le relâcher. Remarque : Le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT revient au dernier réglage
utilisé chaque fois qu'il est mis en marche.

CHOIX D'UNITÉ DE MESURE

Le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT peut être utilisé pour mesurer des distances en yards ou en mètres. Les
indicateurs d'unités de mesure se trouvent à la partie supérieure droite de l'affichage. Pour choisir entre

Charge insuffisante de la pile (indicateur d'affichage- ) Lorsque les deux tirets à l'intérieur du
symbole de la pile sont affichés, la pile est chargée au maximum. Quand les tirets commencent à s'effacer,
cela signifie que la charge de la pile au lithium de 3 volts baisse et qu'elle doit être remplacée.

ŒIlleton caoutcHouc raBattaBle

Le monoculaire du YARDAGE PRO SCOUT est muni d’un oeilleton en caoutchouc conçu pour votre
confort et pour abriter de la lumière extérieure. Si vous portez des lunettes correctrices ou de soleil, roulez
l’oeilleton. Ceci rapprochera votre oeil de la lentille, améliorant ainsi la largeur de champ.

spÉcIFIcatIons

CONCEPTION OPTIQUE

Le YARDAGE PRO SCOUT dispose d'un système optique monoculaire Perma Focus pour observer les
cibles. Un affichage à cristaux liquides est monté à l'intérieur du système optique ; quand il est activé, il
affiche un réticule pour la visée des cibles, les indications d'unités : yards / mètres et de modes, ainsi que
l'état de charge de la pile. De petits points noirs inhérents au processus de fabrication apparaissent dans
le système optique. Ils constituent une caractéristique naturelle de l'affichage à cristaux liquides et ne
peuvent être totalement éliminés durant la fabrication. Ils n'affectent aucunement la mesure des distances
par l'instrument.

nettoYage

Souffler délicatement sur les lentilles pour éliminer la poussière et les débris (ou utiliser une brosse douce
pour lentilles). Pour retirer la saleté et les traces de doigts, nettoyer avec un linge en coton doux, en frottant
d'un mouvement circulaire. Ne pas utiliser de tissu grossier ni frotter excessivement pour ne pas rayer la
surface des lentilles et risquer de les endommager de manière définitive. Pour un nettoyage plus profond,
il est possible d'utiliser un tissu et un produit de nettoyage spéciaux pour lentilles photographiques ou de
l'alcool isopropylique. Toujours appliquer le liquide sur le tissu - jamais directement sur la lentille.
