This instruction manual contains important information about the functioning and care of your new binoculars.
• Please read these instructions through carefully before use to avoid any errors in operation or care.
• Do not discard this information; please retain so you can refer to it at a later date.
• It is possible that certain items described here do not apply to your binoculars. Some items depend on specific product features.
The safety instructions in this manual are provided in order to prevent any injury to yourself or third parties as well as damage to your own property or that of other people.
As the user please carefully familiarise yourself with all items before making use of this new product.

Eyecups: If the eyecups are
moved in, the binoculars can also be used when wearing glasses. When they are moved out, they are suitable for people without spectacles. The optimum pupil distance can be individu­ally adjusted.
Focusing ring: The focusing ring allows you
to bring objects into sharp focus.
Dioptre compensation: Dioptre compensation can be
used to accommodate personal defects of vision.
Rubber armouring: The resistant rubber
armouring offers the binocular housing additional protection.
Holder for carrying strap: This allows you to attach
your carrying strap quickly and easily.
Optics: The lenses with their
multiple coatings ensure high transmission as well as outstanding optical properties.

1. Correct eye distance:
Look at a distant object through your binoculars. Move the two sides of your binoculars at the pivot shaft slowly backwards and forwards until the image is perfectly round.
2. Focusing the image:
Look at this object again through your binoculars. First close your right eye and use the central focusing wheel to bring the image into sharp focus.
Now open the right eye and rotate the dioptre compensation to bring the right-hand image into focus. This allows you to compensate for any difference in vision between your eyes and to take full advantage of the powerful performance offered by these binoculars.
Note: If binoculars do not have a central focusing wheel („Caribbean“ series), the image should be brought into focus by rotating the two eyepieces :
1. Select a highly detailed object some 200 or so metres away.
2. Now rotate the dioptre setting on the right-hand eyepiece until the object is absolutely clear with the right eye.
3. Repeat the procedure for the left eye.

CAUTION:
When adjusting the pupil distance, make sure that your fingers do not become trapped.
Do not allow small children to play with the binoculars unsupervised.
Keep small parts away from children as they might be swallowed. Should this happen, seek medical aid at once.
Never open or take apart the binoculars yourself! If you do so, this will invalidate your warranty.
Please contact your local dealer if you require repair and/or servicing.
Warning:
Never use your binoculars to look directly into the sun or other sources of strong light! This may result in serious injury to your eyes.
Do not swing your binoculars around on the strap. You might hurt other people or cause damage to property.
Never leave your binoculars on a surface that is not sufficiently stable. They might fall off and cause injury or damage!

Cleaning:
• Loose dirt and dust should be carefully brushed off.
• Then use a soft (possibly also damp) cloth to wipe the lenses.
If you are not careful when doing so, you may scratch the lenses.
• Should the lenses become splashed with sea water, rst wipe with
a damp and then a dry cloth.
• The binoculars should be stored in a dry place.

You have purchased a quality product made by Burris. Should any defect occur within 10 years after purchase due to faulty material or poor workmanship, the product shall at our discretion be either repaired or replaced by an equivalent item free of all defects without any charge being made to you for labour or material costs.
We can accept no liability for defects due to improper handling, wear, external influences, knocks or falls.
The warranty shall also be invalidated with failure to comply with the instructions for use in this manual and any intervention or modification made to the binoculars by any persons other than ourselves.
With defects in wear to parts such as the carrying strap, case, lens caps, cover, etc., our warranty shall apply within the framework of our statutory liability. Bulbs and (rechargeable) batteries shall be excluded from the warranty. We shall not be liable for further direct or indirect damage where permitted by law.
PLEASE NOTE: We can only accept warranty claims when ac­companied by proof of purchase and this warranty information. Please contact your dealer with any complaints. In the event of a warranty claim, the warranty period shall not be extended, nor shall a new warranty commence for the relevant product.
