Reversable Shower Seat, HC-1 & HC-2

Folding Seat with Grab Bar

Installation Instructions

Feature Highlights:

■ Reversable conguration.

■ Seat capacity is 250 pounds.

■ Grab bar is designed and tested to
meet ADA standards.

Shower Seat Installation

■ Secure unit to the wall with two
brackets (2 fasteners each).

■ Install on stud walls or steel
construction using in wall backing at
all fastener locations to comply with
local building codes.

■ Lag bolts supplied with seat must be
installed properly. Center on studs
so as to fully engage material. When
installed properly seat will have a
slight up angle.

■ Install bolts with a minimum of 2”
from any edge of support blocking.

■ Securely fasten blocking to wall studs
and building structure.

■ Reversing Top - Remove four
Phillips head screws from seat, rotate
seat end for end and replace screws.

Shower Seat Operation

■ Shower seat folds up when not in use.

■ Tension on seat operation can be
adjusted by tightening pivot bolts in
1/8” turns.

■ Warning: to avoid damaging or
pulling seat out of the wall, sit down
gently. Do not drop down on seat
suddenly.

■ Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA)

Grab Bar Construction

Tubing

■ Stainless steel contruction.

■ Exposed surfaces in satin nickel
nish.

Concealed Flange

■ 3” diameter ange furnished with
3 stainless steel set screws and one
backplate.

■ Flanges and center posts are heliarc
welded to tubing.

Grab Bar Installation

■ Secure to wall with three anges.

■ For installation on stud wall, steel or
berglass construction use in wall
backing at all fastener locations to
comply with local building codes.

■ For installation on solid walls, use
expansion anchors and screws in
compliance with local building
codes.

Note: Fasteners are not provided by

Symmons.

■ Clearance is the distance between the
nished wall surface and the inner
edge of the tubing. e standard
clearance furnished is 1-1/2”
(38mm).

■ Dimensions are measured from
centerline to centerline of tubing,
unless noted on grab bar application
by circle dimensions which are from
centerline of tubing to wall.
