— Electric traction motors in transmission — Electric air conditioning compressor — Electro-hydraulic brake pump (recharges the accumulator
pressure) — Electric cooling fans
Hybrid Unique Driving Characteristics
• When starting the vehicle, if a driver shifts the transmission before the vehicle start-up sequence is completed, the engine may not actually start.
• Transition from electric only to engine start may feel like a transmission downshift.
• To avoid discharging the 12-volt system, recommend starting the ignition and leaving the key in the On position for operating accessory features for extended periods of time (radio, DVD, tailgating situations, etc.).
Overview
Escalade Hybrid is the world’s first full-size hybrid luxury SUV, offering fuel consumption ratings of up to 20 city and 21 highway on the RWD model
Two-Mode Hybrid system is designed to increase fuel efficiency in both city and highway driving. The competition only improves city fuel economy
The first mode: Used for low speeds and stop and go traffic, may use electric power only to propel the Escalade Hybrid up to 30 mph. Depending on vehicle demands, the Escalade Hybrid may also run on engine power only or a combination of engine power and electric power simultaneously
The second mode: Used during highway driving and for higher powertrain loads. The vehicle may operate using both engine and electric power simultaneously or when conditions warrant — trailering, passing, etc. - it may run on engine power only. In addition, if engine loads are light Active Fuel Management will be used to increase fuel economy by reducing fuel consumption
How it Works
Auto Stop: At stop signs and red lights the engine will shut off
conserving fuel and emitting no emissions
Electric Mode: During city driving and stop-and-go traffic the
Escalade Hybrid may be powered by just electricity from the hybrid electric motors and the 300-volt battery
Gas Mode: If vehicle demands are high enough, the Escalade
Hybrid may be powered by just the gas engine
Gas Mode with AFM: During highway driving if vehicle loads
are light, the Escalade will engage AFM and run on just four o the eight cylinders to reduce fuel consumption
Hybrid/Blended Mode: The Escalade Hybrid may use both elec-
tricity from the hybrid motors and 300-volt battery simultaneously with the gas engine
Regenerative Braking Mode: The Escalade Hybrid will use re-
generative braking to capture some energy naturally lost during braking and coasting and store it in the 300-volt battery for future use. This stored energy will be used to propel the vehicle in city driving and the hybrid/blended mode.

like appearance.
HID headlamps with washers provide optimum night time visi-
bility. (Available)
Adaptive Forward Lighting swivels the headlamps in sync with
vehicle steering and speed and automatically levels the headlamps to maximize effectiveness. (Available)
Under the Hood
3.0L VVT DOHC V6 SIDI engine produces 265 hp and 223 lb.-
ft. of torque.
2.8L SFI V6 Turbocharged engine produces 300 hp and 295
lb.-ft. of torque (available).
Hydra-Matic 6T70 6-speed transmission standard on 3.0L V6.
Aisin Warner AF40 6-speed transmission standard on 2.8L
turbo V6.
Driver Shift Control with tap-up/tap-down is standard on both
engines and offers a clutchless manual shift mode for a more engaged driving experience.
Direct Injection on the 3.0L V6 introduces fuel directly into
the cylinder where it mixes with air versus the intake port on typical engines. The result is higher horsepower and better fuel efficiency.
ECO Mode standard on the 2.8L engine alters transmission
shift points to maximize fuel economy. Push the ECO button to turn it on or off.
Long-life components including spark plugs, engine coolant,
exhaust system and transmission fluid, help reduce the need for maintenance.
Passenger Side
• All-new luxury crossover architecture provides a Body Frame
Integral (BFI) design with extensive use of high strength steel for cabin safety and improved vehicle dynamics. This provides confident, inspiring and predictable body motion with precise steering and smooth confortable feel on the road.

by a simple push of a button. The liftgate can be programmed to open to any height making it adaptable to the size constraints of any garage or the height of the person. (Available)
Pass-through exhaust rear fascia gives the SRX a more
finished look.
Up to 1,588 kg (3500-lb.) towing capacity (available).
SRX can be flat-towed (dinghy or dolly).
Driver Side
StabiliTrak Stability Control System helps driver maintain con-
trol during evasive manoeuvers.
Roll-Over Mitigation senses potential for vehicle rollover and
applies brake pressure to outside front wheel to manage lateral pressure and reduce tendency for vehicle rollover.
FE2 Touring suspension is standard on all FWD and AWD
Luxury Collection.
FE3 Sport suspension is included on AWD configurations of
the Performance and Premium Collections.
Continuously variable real-time damping suspension, stan-
dard on FE3, calms vehicle body movement, reduces roll, pitch and vertical motion.
