telephone functions with the typical functions of an audio and video door entry system.
This combination will allow you to access all audio and video functions via telephones connected to the switchboard, for instance it will allow you to: answer a door entry call, control the opening of the lock and check what is happening at the entrance panel.
Using the telephone switchboard in an audio/video door entry system also allows for intercom usage between all telephones installed, sound control of the environments, CCTV functions and above all remote controlling.
This function activates devices (heating system, watering system and more) by making a simple telephone call from internal telephones (extensions) or from external telephone lines (e.g. via a mobile phone).
The basic version of the telephone switchboard item 335828 is able to manage two telephone lines and up to 8 telephone extensions; a second one can be connected in parallel to each telephone.
There is series of accessories which, when connected to the switchboard, can increase the performances and capabilities of the unit, according to the user’s needs.
The switchboard is able to manage up to 9 different commands (which can be activated or remotely activated) in order to control devices such as lights, boilers, blinds, watering systems, etc.
It is also possible to use, via appropriate devices, services for sending and receiving short text messages (SMS), identification of the caller’s number (CLID) as well as analog internet connection.
Furthermore, by using additional accessories, it is possible, to connect up to 16 telephones, 8 with video section (video­audio-telephone handsets), 3 dedicated video entrance panels and a surveillance camera, thus allowing an easier installation of the system and up to 4 external lines.
Thanks to its user-friendliness and service flexibility, the switchboard is particularly suitable for being used in houses, shops, offices and service sector. As a result, it is fully compatible with all telephone sets, with new-generation touch-tone telephones, with modems, Faxes, cordless telephones, answering machines and with pulse-dialing phones or decadic-dialing (for instance old dial telephones).

Using the manual
The manual describes the procedures on how to use the switchboard through a specific terminology, explained as follows.
– External call: call made or received from an external telephone line.
– Internal call: call made from or to an internal telephone (extension), in other words connected to the same switchboard.
– Door entry call: call made from an audio and video door entry system connected to the switchboard.
– Tone: audible sound in the handset used for signaling.
– Time-out tone: tone used for indicating an operation
which is not allowed or incorrectly performed. A series of fast Beeps will be heard and repeated for 25 seconds; in this case, hang up and repeat the operation.
– Start dialing tone: tone to begin dialing. This is the typical sound signal you hear when lifting the handset of a telephone connected directly to the external telephone line (line disengaged).
– Basic programming: switchboard programming with default values (in other words, the values set at factory).
– Personal password (or password): used for programming the switchboard (if unchanged, it is 1 2 3 4).
– Remote control / Unlock password: used for remote control and unlocking procedures (if unchanged, it is 1 2 3 4).
– Ring tone: sound emitted from the telephone sets when a call is received. Ring tones are different as they are used for identifying the incoming calls.
– Short Phone Number: number used by the switchboard to quickly redial a telephone numb.
E.g.: The Short Number 3001 is associated with the telephone number 0039 0332 279111. By dialing 3001 the switchboard automatically dials the telephone number 0039 0332 279111 (see paragraph “Calling a number stored in the directory”).
– R Key: the “R Key” is used within the descriptions of the commands; with some telephone sets the same function is performed by the keys called Flash or Recall.

Calling an external number
1. Pick up the handset.
2. Press the 0 key.
3. If the external telephone line is disengaged, dial the number.
4. Instead, if the line is busy, hang up.
Answering a call

1. When the telephone rings, regardless of the type of call (external,
internal or door entry call) lift the handset to answer.
When no power line adapter is being used, calls sent to the external telephone line can be made from extension 401.

Using the short phone number
1. Pick up the handset, wait for the start dialling tone
2. Dial 30XX, where XX is the short code of the telephone number
(see short numbers directory).
Transferring a call

During the conversation:
1. Press the R key.
2. Dial the number you want to transfer the call to.
3. Wait for the answer.
4. Hang up.
If the phone is busy or if nobody answers, press the
R key to resume
conversation.

3. Dial the required number (from 401 to 416).
4. If the telephone is busy, it will be possible to hang up or make an auto dial on busy by dialing R55.

Dosa Service
This service allows you to transfer a door-entry call to the external telephone line. It is enabled by entering the code corresponding to the domotic scenario
previously programmed for this service (e.g. for scenario 5 enter 31 1
2 3 4 (password) 5).
To go back to normal mode, enter 31 1 2 3 4 1 (scenario 1).
Controlling the entrance panel
1. When using a Pivot telephone equipped with a video section, it is
possible to see and speak with the entrance panel by pressing the key .

Making a call
Calling an extension
To call a phone extensions connected to the switchboard:
• Pick up the handset;
• dial the extension, e.g. 403 (from 401 to 416).

If the extension called is busy, it is possible to auto-dial the call:

To call all extensions simultaneously:
• Pick up the handset;

Calling an external number
To call an external telephone (fixed-line telephone or mobile phone):
• Pick up the handset;
press the 0 key (*);
• dial the required telephone number.
(*) When 0 is pressed, the switchboard
automatically searches the free external line; if you want to call using a specific line

Repeating the last external number called
The switchboard stores the last external number called from each telephone.
With all telephones
• Pick up the handset;
• if the line is disengaged, dial 50;
• the switchboard repeats the last number called from this telephone.
Only with Bticino Pivot telephones
• Pick up the handset;
• if the line is disengaged, press the RP key;
• the switchboard repeats the last number called from this telephone.
Calling an external number stored in the directory
The switchboard is provided with a directory whereby it is possible to store up to 50 telephone numbers combining them with an equal number of short numbers. To call a stored number:
• Pick up the handset;
• dial

to access the directory;
• dial the short number (from 01 to 50).
Short numbers are not subject to
code control barring.

Storing an external number in the directory
To store a telephone number in the directory:
• Pick up the handset;
• dial 36;
• dial your personal password, basic 1 2 3 4;
wait for the free line tone;
• dial the short number associated with the telephone number
e. g.: 25;
• dial the telephone number to be stored along with its area code number (e.g. 0332 279 111);
wait for the Confirm tone within
6 seconds (approximately);
• after you hear the Confirm tone, it will be possible to enter another number in the directory or hang up to end programming.
The telephone number does not have to include the automatic selection
code “0” of the external telephone line.

Storing an international number in the
directory
In order to enter a telephone number with an international area code in the directory, it is necessary to enter pauses between the area code and the telephone number by using the R key. Pressing the
R key will correspond to a pause of about 2
seconds.

Answering a call
Answering a call

Calls are signaled with different cadences, according to their source
(internal, external or door-entry call). If the standard switchboard programming has not been changed, all telephones will be enabled to receive calls and thus they will ring simultaneously. The first phone to be picked up will be connected to the line (internal, external or door-entry line) and will automatically exclude all the others.
However, the switchboard can be programmed so that the call can be
directed to specific telephones.
Answer for another extension
If the receiver of an internal or transferred call is absent and his/her telephone rings, it will be possible to intercept the call directed to him/her from any other phone extension; in order to do this:
• pick up the handset

Getting a call sent to the answering machine
It is possible to talk to a user who is leaving a message on the answering machine:
when the answering
machine has started to function;
pick up the phone
from where you want to answer;
dial the extension
to which the answering machine is connected, e.g.: 401;
you will be
communicating with the person who has activated the answering machine.

The service is available if the extension (e.g. 401) has been configured in answering machine mode (see Installation manual).
The extension programmed in answering machine mode operates as follows:
there is no ring during a general call,
it allows remote controlling from an external telephone
line (see “Remote control procedure with answering machine enabled”).
The interception of the call cannot occur from the telephone (if
present) connected to the same extension where the answering machine is installed (e.g. 401).

Putting someone on hold and transferring
the call
To transfer an external or door-entry conversation to another phone extension:
1 press the R key and dial the
extension required,
e.g.: 402;
2 wait until the number called
answers;
3 hang up; the call has been
transferred.
If after point 2 the extension called is engaged or does not answer, it
is possible to resume the conversation that has been put on hold by pressing the R key.

Putting someone on hold
To put someone on hold during an external or door-entry conversation:
• press the R key;

speaker will hear music as well as the message “please wait”, while waiting.
(Only for Belgium; the speaker
waiting on the external line may also receive just the music without the message “please wait”).
• to resume the conversation, press the R key.
It is not possible to put an
internal call on hold.

Putting someone on hold and transferring
the call
If after point 2 you do not want to wait for the answer from the phone you want to transfer the call to:
• hang up;
• the telephone called rings (e.g. 402);
• by picking up the handset (e.g. 402) you will be directly talking to the external speaker.
If the transferred call is external and the extension called (e.g. 402)
does not answer, the phone that has activated the transfer (e.g. 401) will ring after 25 seconds, hence signaling that there has been no transfer.

Answering a second call during a
conversation (call notification tones)
If during a conversation another external or door-entry call comes in, the switchboard will send a call notification tone to the telephone in conversation.

If you want to answer, thus ending the conversation with the first speaker:
hang up;
wait until the telephone
rings;
pick up the handset to answer the new call.
