Safety Information
FAILURE TO FOLLOW EACH OF THE FOLLOWING
INSTRUCTIONS CAN RESULT IN YOUR CHILD STRIKING THE
VEHICLE'S INTERIOR DURING A SUDDEN STOP OR CRASH.
SECURE THE BOOSTER SEA T WITH A VEHICLE BELT AS SPECIFIED
IN THIS INSTRUCTION BOOKLET.
WARNING! USE ONLY THE VEHICLE'S LAP AND SHOULDER BELT
SYSTEM WHEN RESTRAINING THE CHILD IN THIS BOOSTER
SEAT. Under no circumstances should you use the Roadster with
two point seat belts (lap belt only or shoulder belt only). Your child
will be seriously injured in the event of a crash!
According to accident statistics, children are safer when properly
restrained in rear seating positions than in front seating positions.
The actual dimensions of the seat and details of seat belts used to
attach the booster seat differ from vehicle to vehicle. Please study
the section on Compatible Seat Belts. If in doubt, consult your
motor vehicle handbook and your Britax retailer.
The primary protection for occupants of a motor vehicle in a
collision is the structure of the vehicle itself, and a booster seat will
not protect a child when the vehicle sustains very serious damage.
However, a child in a booster seat correctly installed will
substantially improve the chances for survival in all accidents. Make
sure that you understand the correct way to use this booster seat in
your vehicle.

Vehicle Seat Belts
To protect your child in a crash, you must use the Roadster together
with seat belts that are compatible. Different vehicles have different
types of seat belts. The Roadster can only be used with lap and
shoulder (three point) belts.
Never use the Roadster with lap belt only! Never use the Roadster
with a shoulder belt only! The child could be seriously injured in
case of a crash.
The owner's manual for your vehicle will have information on the
types of seat belts in your vehicle. If you have incompatible 2 point
belts (lap only or shoulder only), select another seating position.
The Roadster will work with rear seat lap and shoulder belts (3 point
belts) that are marked as appropriate for child car seats. Select a seat
position that provides support for the child’s head. The child’s ear
must be no higher than the top of the seat.
If you have questions about what kind of belts you have in your
vehicle, please contact your vehicle manufacturer.
Vehicle Seating Positions
Use the Roadster in vehicle seats which are forward facing only!
Do not use this seat on vehicle seats facing sideways or backwards!
See illustrations below.
Forward-facing vehicle seats MUST be used with this booster seat.
Side-facing or rear-facing seats in vans, station wagons or trucks
CANNOT be used with the Roadster.
Do Not locate any child under 13 on the front seat with an air bag
unless the air bag is turned off- DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY can
result. The back seat is the safest place for children.

Care and Maintenance
DO - Follow these instructions in the order shown before installing
the Roadster in your vehicle.
DO - Keep the instructions in their storage pouch on your Roadster
at all times for future reference.
DO - Cover the Roadster if it is exposed to direct sunshine. Parts can
become hot to touch in sunny weather and the cover fabric may also
become faded.
DO - Store Roadster in a safe place when it is not being used. Avoid
placing heavy objects on it.
DO -Secure this booster seat even when it is not occupied. In a crash
an unsecured object may fly around and injure occupants.
DO NOT - Use the Roadster in a residence. It has been designed for

time.
REMOVING THE COVER
The cover on the booster seat area is held in place by two points on

plastic arrow tabs. Gently, guide the button holes on the cover over
the two arrow tabs. Be careful when removing the cover to avoid
