BREAD SLICER

CUTTING GUIDE

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

BS1

TO ASSEMBLE BREAD SLICING GUIDE

Your bread slicing guide is packed in the closed storage position. To open the guide for use, simply press on the ends of guide where indicated and swing both sides out as shown in diagram. Sides will ‘snap’ lock in the upright position for use.

CLEAN BEFORE USE

Wipe bread slicing guide with a damp cloth and dry. Do not clean bread slicing guide in an automatic dishwasher as damage can occur.

TO USE BREAD SLICING GUIDE

1.Place bread slicing guide on counter with sides in upright position as shown. Guide features rubber feet on bottom to secure on surface while slicing.

2.Place loaf onto cutting platform, position one end against closed end of guide. See pic. This will ensure more even slicing. Either a whole or partial loaf of bread can be sliced.

3.With a good bread knife or electric knife, align knife blade in guide slots above bread. Slice bread with a back and forth sawing motion. You may need to secure top side of loaf while slicing. Remove blade from guide when finished slicing and repeat same motion until desired number of slices have been cut.

SLICING TIPS

If slicing freshly baked bread, be sure to let cool at least 15 to 30 minutes, otherwise bread will tear when attempting to slice.

Bread machine or traditional shaped loaves of bread can be sliced in guide. Place bread machine bread on one of its sides for slicing; place bottom of traditional shaped loaf on platform for slicing.

A loaf up to 23cm long can be sliced in the guide. the slices will be about 5mm thick. For thicker slices, cut bread using every other guide slot.

Be sure to completely cut through bottom crust of bread as you slice.

Some of the plastic material on the platform of the guide will become scratched from the cutting knife used which is normal. Any small pieces of plastic that may come in contact with the bread are not harmful as plastic is a food grade material.

Always use caution when handling knife during slicing of bread.

CLEAN AFTER USE

To remove crumbs, simply brush off with a dry cloth or tap guide over waste basket. Crumbs are easier to remove when they are dry rather than being wet. Wipe slicing guide with a damp cloth if needed.

Do not clean bread slicing guide in an automatic dishwasher as damage can occur.

For compact storage of guide between uses, close down sides by pressing ends where indicated and swing in direction as shown on guide. See diagram below. Store guide in drawer or cabinet.
