Breville recommends safety first
We at Breville are very safety conscious. We design and manufacture consumer products with the safety of you,
our valued customer, foremost in mind. In addition, we ask that you exercise a degree of care when using any
electrical appliance and adhere to the following instructions.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS FOR YOUR BREVILLE
MODA 1 LITRE KETTLE
• Carefully read all instructions before operation and
save for future reference.
• Remove any packaging material and promotional
stickers before using the kettle for the first time.
• This appliance has been designed specifically for
the purpose of boiling drinking quality water only.
Under no circumstances should this product be
used to boil any other liquids or foodstuffs.
• Do not place the kettle near the edge of a bench or
table during operation. Ensure that the surface is
level, clean and free of water.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or
counter, touch hot surfaces or become knotted.
Fully unwind cord before use.
• Keep the kettle clear of walls, curtains and other
heat or steam sensitive materials. Minimum
200mm distance.
• Do not place the kettle on or near a gas burner,
electric element or in or near a heated oven.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse
the kettle base, switch area, power base, power
supply cord or plug in water or allow moisture to
come in contact with these parts.
• Always ensure the kettle switch is in the 'OFF'
position, then turn the power off at the power
outlet and remove the plug from the power outlet
before attempting to move the appliance, when
the appliance is not in use and before cleaning
and storing.
• Do not remove the kettle from the power base
during operation. Ensure the kettle has switched to
'OFF' position, after water has boiled, before
removing the kettle from the power base.
• Do not move the kettle while it is switched on.
• Do not open the lid during operation.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle for lifting
and carrying the kettle.
• Keep the appliance clean. Refer to care and
cleaning (page 9).
• This appliance is not intended for use by young
children or infirm persons unless they have been
adequately supervised by a responsible person to
ensure they can use the appliance safely.
• Young children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with this appliance.
DO NOT OPERATE THE KETTLE ON AN INCLINED SURFACE. DO NOT MOVE THE KETTLE
WHILE IT IS SWITCHED ON
