Einleitung

Diese Bedienungsanleitung muss vollständig und
sorgfältig durchgelesen werden. Sie ist Bestandteil
des von Ihnen neu erworbenen batteriebetriebe­nen, fotoelektrischen Rauchmelders und enthält
wichtige Hinweise für den Betrieb und die Hand­habung. Im Weiteren wird dieser nur Rauchmelder
genannt. Es sind beim Gebrauch dieses Produktes
immer alle Sicherheitshinweise zu beachten.
Bei auftretenden Fragen bezüglich der Benutzung
des Rauchmelders kontaktieren Sie Ihren Händler
oder unsere Servicestelle. Die Bedienungs­anleitung ist aufzubewahren und muss ggf. an
Dritte weitergereicht werden. Zudem muss auf
einen einwandfreien Zustand des Rauchmelders
geachtet werden.

WARNUNG: Der Rauchmelder ist auf dem Weg zu

den Schlafräumen zu montieren (Treppenaufgang,
Flur, Eingangshalle etc.). Es ist darauf zu achten,
dass dieser auch in den Schlafräumen gut zu
hören ist. Wird ein ungünstiger Platz ausgewählt,
kann der Rauchmelder in Brandfall weitgehend
unwirksam sein. Somit kann es im Brandfall
wichtige lebensrettende Zeit verkürzen um sich in
Sicherheit zu bringen.

TIP: Um sicher zu sein, dass der Ort akustisch
günstig gewählt ist, muss ein Testalarm ausgelöst
werden.

Um eine erweiterten Schutz und eine effektive
Warnung zu erzielen sollte in jedem Wohnraum
und Kellerraum ein Rauchmelder installiert sein.
Bei folgenden Räumen und Montageorten kann die
Montage zu Problemen führen:

sind zu vermeiden z.B. in der
Nähe von Fenstersimse,
Vorhänge, Möbel, etc.
Es ist ein Abstand von 30 cm
einzuhalten. Der Rauchmelder
ist im Abstand zu den Wänden
als auch Ecken von 30 cm zu
montieren. Dies hemmt im
Brandfall die Rauchbewegung
und der Rauchmelder alar miert
erst, wenn die Rauchkonzentra­tion sehr stark ist. Die Montage
in der Nähe von Deckenleuch­ten (z.B. Halogensystem,
Leuchtstofflampen) insbeson­dere mit Dimmfunk tion, ist
ebenso zu vermeiden.

Dachschräge In Bereichen mit schrägen und

spitzen Dächern ist der Rauch­melder 90 cm vom höchsten
Punkt zu montieren, da in der
Schräge/Spitze keine Luftbe­wegung stattfindet. Dies hat
zur Folge, dass der Rauch zu
spät erkannt wird.

Installation und Inbetriebnahme des
Rauchmelders
HINWEIS: Beiliegendes Befestigungsmaterial ist

für Betondecken geeignet, bei anderen
Untergründen muß entsprechendes Befestigungs­material im Fachhandel bezogen werden.

HINWEIS

::

Ein Alarm kann lediglich durch das
Entfernen der Batterie vom Batterieclip gestoppt
werden.
Der Rauchmelder wird durch eine Batterie
versorgt und benötigt keine zusätzliche
Spannungsversorgung.

Stummschaltfunktion

Drücken Sie die Test-/Stummschalttaste, um einen
Fehlalarm abzuschalten. Das Gerät wird automa­tisch auf eine geringere Empfindlichkeitsstufe
eingestellt. Damit lassen sich Fehlalarme über
einen Zeitraum von ca. 10 Minuten unterdrücken,
d.h. das Gerät wurde Stumm geschalten.
Nach Ablauf der Stummschaltzeit schaltet das
Gerät automatisch auf normale Empfindlichkeit
zurück. Wollen Sie die Stummschaltung

verlängern, drücken Sie erneut die Test-/ Stumm­schalttaste.

Vernetzung

Dieser Rauchmelder kann mit anderen Brennen­stuhl BR 5232 gekoppelt werden. Die Vernetzungs­möglichkeit besteht mit bis zu 12 Rauchmeldern
mit dem weißen Kabel.

Montage des Rauchmelders

Achtung: Dieser Rauchmelder arbeitet netzabhän­gig. Die Verkabelung nach den aktuellen Vorschrif­ten für Elektroinstallationen ist einem qualifizier­ten Fachmann zu überlassen. Der verwendete
Stromkreis muss eine fest geschaltete Standlinie
sein, die vom Normalverwender nicht versehent­lich abgeschaltet werden kann.
Nur zugelassene Leitungen verwenden.

Für die Verdrahtung orientieren Sie sich bitte an
nachstehender Abbildung. Die Anschlusspole
finden Sie an der Seite eines jeden Rauchmelders
BR 5232.

Batterie wechseln/einlegen

Um eine Batterie zu entnehmen

abnehmen ist das Gehäuse entgegen des

Uhrzeigersinns zu drehen.
Dadurch kann das Gehäuse
abgenommen werden und der
Zugang zur Batterie ist frei

Wartung

Der Rauchmelder ist bis auf den Batteriewechsel
weitgehend wartungsfrei. Bei Auftreten eines sich
pro Minute wieder kehren den kurzen Tones ist die
Batterie am Ende ihrer Lebensdauer. Diese ist
unverzüglich zu ersetzen. Diese Warnung hält über
einen Zeitraum von 7 Tagen an, bevor die Batterie
vollständig entladen ist. Anschließend ist keine
Spannungsversorgung mehr gegeben.

WARNUNG: Sollte die LED nicht jede Minute
einmal blinken, zeigt dies eine leere Batterie an.

WICHTIG: Nach einem Wechsel ist ein Funktions­test durchzuführen.

Austauschdatum:
Rauchmelder sollten nach 10 Jahren erneuert
werden.

Fluchtplan

Es wird empfohlen sich mit allen Hausbewohnern
gemeinsam einen Fluchtplan auszuarbeiten.
Überlegen sie gut, ob im Falle eines Brandes dieser
Fluchtweg unter keinen Umständen durch
Hindernisse versperrt ist. Außerdem muss es der
schnellste als auch der sicherste Weg ins Freie
sein.

Reinigung

Der Rauchmelder ist regelmäßig von Staub zu
befreien. Dies kann mit dem Staubsauger gesche­hen. Saugen Sie alle Seiten des Rauchmelders ab.
Das Produkt ist mit einem trockenen fusselfreien
oder einem feuchten Tuch zu reinigen. Verwenden
Sie keine scharfen Reinigungsmittel bzw. Chemika­lien (Lösungsmittel, Benzin etc.).

Entsorgung

Am Ende der Lebensdauer des Produktes
darf dieses nicht im normalen Hausmüll

entsorgt werden. Das Produkt ist an einer

WARNUNG: The smoke detector should be

mounted on the pathways to the bedrooms (stair­ways, hallways, entry ways, etc.). Please make sure
that it can be heard well from the bedrooms. If an
unfavourable location is chosen, the smoke
detector can be largely ineffective in the case of a
fire. This can reduce the time needed to get to
safety in the event of a fire, endangering your life.

TIP: To be that the location chosen is acoustically
favourable, set off a test alarm.

A smoke detector should be installed in every
living space and in every basement room in order
to provide an expanded degree of protection.
In the following rooms and mounting locations,
mounting can lead to problems:

Installation and set-up of smoke alarm
NOTE: The enclosed mounting equipment is

suitable for concrete slabs. For other subsurfaces,
suitable mounting equipment should be purchased
from a specialty shop.

NOTE: An alarm can simply be stopped by
removing the battery from the battery clip.
The smoke alarm is powered by a battery and
needs no other electical power supply.

Mute function

Press the test-/mute function button in order to
turn off a false alarm. The device will be automa­tically adjusted to a lower level of sensitivity. This
allows false alarms to be suppressed for a period
of about 10 minutes, i.e. the device is muted.
After the mute period expires, the device automa­tically returns to normal sensitivity. If you want to
prolong the mute, just press the test/mute button
again.

Networking

This smoke detector can be coupled to other
Brennenstuhl BR 5232 units. The networking
capability consists in connecting up to 12 smoke
detectors using the white cable.

Mounting the smoke detectors

ATTENTION: This smoke detector is mainsopera­ted. Have cable installation done by a qualified
technician and compliant with current regulations
for electrical installations. The circuit used must
be a hardwired baseline, which cannot be acciden­tally shut off by a normal user. Only use approved
wires.

Refer to the following illustration for correct
wiring. The connector poles are on the side of
every BR 5232 smoke detector.

Maintenance

The smoke alarm is largely maintenance free ex­cept for changing the battery. When a tone starts
sounding once every minute, the battery is nearly
dead and needs to be replaced immediately.
This warning continues for a period of 7 days
before the battery is completely discharged.
After this, there is no more power supply.

WARNUNG: If the LED doesn’t blink once per
minute, this indicates the battery is completely
empty.

IMPORTANT: After changing the battery, a
function test should be performed as described in
Chapter 7.4 .

Replacement date:
Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years.

Escape plan

It is recommended that all residents of a building
collaborate on an escape plan. Think carefully
about an escape route that will under no
circum stances be blocked during a fire.
This should be both the fastest and safest route
into the open.

Cleaning

The smoke detector should be regularly cleaned of
dust. This can be done with a vacuum cleaner.
Vacuum all sides of the smoke detector. The
product must be cleaned with a dry, lint-free cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals
(solvents, gasoline, etc.).

Disposal

When this product has reached the end of its
operational lifetime, it cannot be disposed of

in the regular household waste. This product
must be taken to a collection site for the proces­sing of electrical and electronic devices for dispo­sal. Inquire with your city or municipal govern­ment about options for the environmentally sound
and proper disposal of the product.

At the end of their operational life, batteries

must be dropped off free of charge at the

collection sites in your city or township or in
a battery specialty shop.

AVERTISSEMENT : le détecteur de fumée doit

être monté sur le parcours vers les chambres à
coucher (escaliers, couloir, hall d’entrée etc.).
Il faut veiller à ce que celui-ci soit bien audible
aussi dans les chambres à coucher. Si l’endroit
choisi est défavorable, le détecteur de fumée peut
être grandement inefficace en cas d’incendie, ce
qui peut réduire ainsi le temps sauveur important
pour se mettre en sécurité.

CONSEIL : pour s’assurer que le lieu choisi est
favorable acoustiquement, il faut déclencher une
alarme test.

Pour obtenir une protection étendue et un
avertissement efficace, il est recommandé
d’installer un détecteur de fumée dans chaque
pièce d’habitation et cave. Le montage peut
causer des problèmes dans les pièces et lieux de
montage suivants :
