1. Einleitung

Diese Bedienungsanleitung muss vollständig und
sorgfältig durchgelesen werden. Sie ist Bestandteil
des von Ihnen neu erworbenen Gasmelders und
enthält wichtige Hinweise für den Betrieb und die
Handhabung. Es sind beim Gebrauch dieses Pro­duktes immer alle Sicherheitshinweise zu beach­ten. Bei auftretenden Fragen bezüglich der Benut­zung des Gasmelders kontaktieren Sie Ihren Händ­ler oder unsere Servicestelle. Die Bedienungsanlei­tung ist aufzubewahren und muss ggf. an Dritte
weitergereicht werden.

2.Lieferumfang

Unverzüglich nach dem Auspacken muss der
Lieferumfang Ihres Gasmelders auf Vollständigkeit
kontrolliert werden. Zudem muss auf einen
einwandfreien Zustand des Gasmelders geachtet
werden.

Dieser Gasmelder wurde entwickelt um Erdgas
und Methan zu detektieren. Der Gasmelder
detektiert keine anderen Gase und ersetzt auch
keine Rauchwarnmelder.

4. Bedienung und Montage

In diesem Artikel werden die grundlegenden
Funktionen des Gasmelders erläutert. Lesen Sie
dieses Kapitel sorgfältig durch, damit Sie alle
Funktionen verstehen und einsetzen können.

4.1 Auswahl des Montageortes
Der Gasmelder ist für trockene Innenräume geeig­net, in denen ein Gasaustritt stattfinden kann.
Wichtig ist, dass das akustische Alarmsignal im
Falle eines Gasaustritts gut hörbar ist.
Zur Detektierung von Erdgas und Methan sollte
der Gasmelder 15-30 cm unterhalb der Decke
sowie im Abstand von 1-3 m zum Gasofen oder
gasbetriebenen Haus­haltsgeräte installiert
werden. Es ist darauf
zu achten, dass sich
die Steckdose zum
Anschluss des 12 V DC
Netzadapters
höchstens 2 m vom
Installationsort des
Gasmelders befindet.
Empfohlene Bereiche
sind Küche, Garage
und Wohnwagen.

4.2 Umgebungen, die zu vermeiden sind

• Das Gerät nicht verhüllen oder abdecken.

Dadurch wird die Leistung des Sensors
herabgesetzt.

• Es ist darauf zu achten, dass das Gerät nicht mit

Feuchtigkeit in Kontakt kommt.

• Gerät vor starken magnetischen oder

elektrischen Feldern sowie starker
mechanischer Belastung und Stößen schützen.

• Orte, an denen die Temperatur unter -10°C

absinkt oder über 40°C ansteigt.

• Gasmelder nicht im Luftstrom von Ventilatoren

oder in Tür- und Fensterbereichen etc. aufstel­len.

• Feuchträume wie Badezimmer und Duschen,

in denen die relative Luftfeuchtigkeit auf über
95 % ansteigen kann.

• Außerhalb von Gebäuden z.B. zur

Aufbewahrung offener Kisten mit Flaschengas.

• Geschlossene Bereiche (z.B.

Schrankinnenräume oder Bereiche hinter
Gardinen), die ein Ansprechen des Geräts im
Falle eines Gasaustritts verhindern würden.

• Bereiche, in denen der Sensor aufgrund von

Staub- oder Schmutzansammlung verstopfen
kann.

• Unmittelbar neben Öfen, Waschbecken oder

Abflüssen.

4.3 Installation und Inbetriebnahme

• Vor Beginn der Installationsarbeiten ist der

Strom abzuschalten, um einen elektrischen
Schlag oder einen Geräteschaden zu verhindern.

• Nach Festlegung des Montagestandorts ist

sicherzustellen, dass sich im Montagebereich
keine elektrischen Leitungen oder Rohrleitun­gen befinden.

• Montieren Sie den Montagering an der richtigen

Stelle.

• An den markierten Stellen Löcher bohren.

• Wanddübel in die Bohrungen einsetzen.

• Montagering anschrauben. SCHRAUBEN NICHT

ZU FEST ANZIEHEN.

• Drehen Sie den Melder auf den Montagering,

achten Sie hierbei auf die Aussparungen des
Adaptersteckers.

• Kabel des 12 V DC Netzteils/Transformators

anschließen. Bei direktem Anschluss einer 12 V
DC Batterie kann zwischen Batterie und Gerät
ein Schalter installiert werden.

• Transformator an eine 230 V Steckdose

anschließen. Der Gasmelder ist innerhalb von
2 Minuten betriebsbereit, die grüne Lampe
leuchtet kontinuierlich.

• Wenn Sie sich über die Art des verwendeten

Gases nicht sicher sind oder bei der Installation
des Gasmelders Probleme auftreten, so ist ein
Fachmann hinzuzuziehen.

4.4 Was tun bei Alarm
Bei Detektierung einer bestimmten Menge
Erd-/Methangas, schaltet sich die rote Lampe
zusätzlich mit einem schrillen Alarmton (85 dB)
ein. Der Melder reagiert bereits bei einer Konzen­tration von 25 % einer explosiven Gasmenge.

Je höher die Gaskonzentration im Raum ist,
desto schneller reagiert der Melder.

• Explosionsgefahr bei einer Konzentration von

3,8 %.

• Melder reagiert bei 5-20 %.

Ruhe bewahren und die im Folgenden aufge­führten Maßnahmen in der jeweils angemessenen
Reihenfolge durchführen:

• Offene Flammen, brennenden Tabak oder

Kerzen etc. sofort löschen.

• Wird unter normalen Bedingungen ein Alarm

ausgelöst, die Quelle des Gasaustrittes
absperren und zur gründlichen Belüftung Türen
und Fenster öffnen.

• Elektrische Geräte (Lichtschalter,

Taschenlampe, Türklingel, Telefon, Sprechan­lagen oder andere Stromverbraucher) weder
ein- noch ausschalten.

• Keine elektrischen Schalter berühren. Selbst

kleinste Funken können eine Explosion auslösen.

• Wird ein Gasaustritt dauerhaft oder wiederholt

angezeigt, so kontaktieren Sie bitte Ihr Gaswerk.
Benutzen Sie dazu kein Telefon oder ein
anderweitiges Elektrogerät in der Nähe oder in
der Umgebung der Gasquelle.

4.5 Funktionskontrolle /-test
Wichtig: Der Funktionstest ist wöchentlich
durchzuführen.

• Einsatzbereitschaft: Überprüfen Sie die grüne

Lampe, diese muss kontinuierlich leuchten.

• Wenn die grüne Lampe erlischt, überprüfen Sie

zunächst die Stromverbindung. Wenn die Strom­versorgung gewährleistet ist, die grüne Lampe
nicht leuchtet bedeutet dies, dass der Gasmel­der defekt ist und repariert oder ersetzt werden
muss.

• Testknopf: Drücken Sie die Testtaste, der Gas-

melder muss so lange eine Alarmmeldung von
sich geben, wie Sie die Taste gedrückt halten.

5.Wartung

Der Gasmelder ist neben der Funktionskontrolle
wartungsfrei. Säubern Sie zusätzlich den Gehäuse­deckel monatlich mit einem feuchten Tuch,
um abgelagert Staubpartikel zu lösen.

6.Entsorgung

Am Ende der Lebensdauer des Produktes
darf dieses nicht im normalen Hausmüll

entsorgt werden. Das Produkt ist an einer
Sammelstelle für die Aufbereitung von
elektrischen und elektronischen Geräten zu
entsorgen. Erkundigen Sie sich bei Ihrer Stadt­oder Gemeindeverwaltung nach Möglichkeiten
einer umwelt- und sachgerechten Entsorgung des
Produktes.

7. Garantie

Wir gewähren auf diesen Artikel eine Garantie
von 3 Jahren. Der Gasmelder muss nach 5 Jahren
Betriebsdauer ausgetauscht werden, da nach
Ablauf dieses Zeitraums ein korrektes Detektieren
nicht mehr gewährleistet werden kann.
Reparaturen nur über den autorisierten Fachhandel.

Beschädigung durch unsachgemäße Handhabung,
Nichtbeachten der Bedienungsanleitung sowie
Verschleißteile sind von der Garantie ausgeschlos­sen.

These operating instructions must be read
completely and carefully. They are a component of
your newly purchased, line-operated, gas detector
and contain important information concerning its
operation and maintenance. All safety notices are
to be observed in the use of this product. If you
have any questions concerning the use of your gas
detector, contact your dealer or our service office.
These operating instructions are to be kept and
must if necessary be passed on to third parties.

completeness. Also check the detector itself for

4. Operation and mounting

In this article, the basic functions of gas detector
are explained. Read this chapter through carefully
so that you understand and can use all of the
functions.

4.1 Selection of Mounting Site
The gas detector is suitable for interior rooms in
which gas leaks can occur. It is important that the
acoustic alarm signal can be clearly heard in the
event of a gas leak.
To detect natural gas and methane, the gas
detector should be placed 15-30 cm under the
ceiling and installed at a distance of 1-3 m from the
gas oven or gas­operated household
appliances. Make sure
that there is an
electrical outlet for
connecting the 12 V
DC adapters at most
2 m from the gas
detector’s
installation site.
Recommended areas
are the kitchen,
garage and
recreational vehicle.

4.2 Locations to avoid

• Do not muffle or cover the device. This reduces

the performance of the sensor.

• Make sure that the device does not come into

contact with moisture.

• Protect the device from strong magnetic or

electrical fields as well as heavy mechanical
loads and strong vibrations.

• Sites, where the temperature drops below -10°C

or rises above 40°C.

• Do not install the gas detector in the air stream

from a fan or near doors or windows.

• Moisture-prone rooms such as bathrooms and

showers, in which the relative humidity can rise
above 95 %.

• Outside buildings, e.g. where open cases of gas

cylinders are stored.

• Enclosed areas (e.g. interior closets or areas

behind curtains), which would hinder the
device’s response in the event of a gas leak.

• Areas in which the sensor can become clogged

due to accumulation of dust or dirt.

• Immediately next to ovens, sinks or drains.

4.3 Installation and set-up

• Before beginning installation, shut off the

electricity in order to prevent electric shock or
damage to the device.

• After selecting the mounting site, make sure

that there are no electrical lines or pipes in the
mounting area.

• Mount the mounting ring in the right place.

• Drill holes in the marked locations.

• Insert anchor bolts in the drilled holes.

• Screw on the mounting ring. DO NOT OVER-

TIGHTEN THE SCREWS.

• Screw the detector onto the mounting ring,

paying attention to the openings for the adapter
plug.

• Connect the power cord for the12 V DC power

supply/transformer. In the case of direct
connection to a 12 V DC battery, a switch can be
installed between the battery and the device.

• Connect the transformer to a 230 V electrical

outlet. The gas detector will be operationally
ready in 2 minutes. The green light will burn
continuously.

• If you are not sure about the type of gas used,

or if problems occur during the installation of
your gas detector, consult a trained technician.

4.4 What to do during an alarm
On detection of a certain amount of natural-/
methane gas, the red light will activate,
accompanied by a shrill acoustic alarm (85 dB).
The detector already reacts at a concentration of
25 % of an explosive amount of gas.

The higher the gas concentration is in the room,
the more rapidly the detector will react.

• Explosion hazard at a concentration of 3.8 %.

• Detector reacts at 5-20 %.

Stay calm and take the following measures in the
order appropriate to the situation:

• Immediately extinguish open flames, burning

tobacco or candles, etc.

• If the alarm is sounded under normal

conditions, block off the source of the gas leak
and open the windows and doors to provide
thorough ventilation.

• Do not activate or deactivate any electrical

devices (light switches, electric torches (flash­lights), doorbells, telephones, intercoms or
other devices using electricity).

• Do not touch any electrical switches.

Even the tiniest sparks can cause an explosion.

• If a gas leak is detected repeatedly or

constantly, contact your gas utility. Do not use a

telephone or other electrical device in the
vicinity or surroundings of the gas source.

4.5 Function check/-test
Important: The function test must be performed
weekly.

• Operational readiness: make sure that the green

light burns continuously.

• If the green light goes out, check the power

supply first. If the power supply is secure, and
the green light still does not come on, this
means that the gas detector is defective and
must be repaired or replaced.

• Test button: press the test button. The gas

detector must emit an alarm as long as you hold
the button down.

5.Maintenance

Aside from the function check, the gas detector is
maintenance free. Clean the housing cover once a
month with a damp cloth to remove accumulated
dust particles.

6.Disposal

When this product has reached the end of its
operational lifetime, it cannot be disposed of

in the regular household waste. This product
must be taken to a collection site for the process­ing of electrical and electronic devices for
disposal. Inquire with your city or municipal
government about options for the
environmentally sound and proper disposal of the
product.

7. Guarantee

We grant a 3 year guarantee on this article.
The gas detector must be replaced after 5 years
of service, since correct detection cannot be
guaranteed after this period expires.
Repairs must be done by authorised dealers.

Damages from improper use, disregarding the
operating instructions and parts subject to wear
are excluded from the guarantee.

1. Introduction

Ce mode d’emploi doit être lu entièrement et avec
soin. Il est une partie composante du détecteur de
gaz que vous venez d‘acheter et il contient des
indications importantes sur son fonctionnement et
sa manipulation. Lors de son utilisation, toutes les
indications de sécurité doivent être toujours
respectées. Si vous avez ensuite des questions
relatives à l’utilisation du détecteur de gaz,
contactez votre marchand ou notre service­clients. Il faut conserver le mode d’emploi et, le
cas échéant, le transmettre à un tiers.

2. Contenu de la livraison

Il faut contrôler que la livraison de votre détecteur
de gaz est complète immédiatement après le
déballage. De plus, il faut vérifier le parfait état du
détecteur de gaz.

4.Utilisation et montage

Dans cet article sont expliquées les fonctions fon­damentales du détecteur de gaz. Lisez ce chapitre
entièrement et avec soin, afin de comprendre
toutes les fonctions et de pouvoir les utiliser.

4.1 Choix du lieu de montage
Le détecteur de gaz est approprié pour les pièces
intérieures sèches, dans lesquelles peut survenir
une fuite de gaz. Il est important que le signal
d’alarme acoustique soit bien audible en cas de
fuite de gaz.
Pour détecter le gaz naturel et le méthane, il est
recommandé d’installer le détecteur de gaz 15-30 cm
sous le plafond ainsi
qu’à une distance de 1­3 m du four à gaz ou
d’appareils ménagers
alimentés au gaz. Il
faut veiller à ce que la
prise de courant pour
le raccordement de
l‘adaptateur 12 V DC
se situe à 2 m max. du
lieu d’installation du
détecteur de gaz.
