Batteries
Two 1.5 volt batteries. For best performance, use alkaline manganese batteries (type LR 6, AM 3, MN 1500 or size AA alkaline, e. g. Duracell These batteries provide a shaving capacity of approx. 60 minutes. To open the battery cover (6), turn it 90° as shown in (c). Insert batteries with the poles in the direction marked. Before closing the battery compartment, make sure the cover is dry and clean.
Note: Never leave batteries in the shaver for long periods of time when the shaver is not in use (danger of leakage). Take empty batteries out of the shaver immediately. To protect the environment, dispose of empty batteries at your retail store or at appropriate collection sites according to national or local regulations.
This appliance is suitable for use in a bath or shower. When using it in a shower, we recommend that
you apply shaving foam or gel.
Shaving
Turn the twisting protective cap (4) (a) until it clicks in place as shown (b). To switch the shaver on, push the on/off switch (3) up.
Long hair trimmer
(P90, P80, P 70 and P60 models only) Use the extendable long hair trimmer (5) for exact trimming of side burns and mous­taches. To operate, slide the long hair trimmer to the right (e) and turn on the appliance. After use, slide it back until it engages.

Cleaning and maintenance
For optimum shaving performance, clean the shaver after each use:

Cleanin Turn on the shaver and hold the shaver head under warm running water (f). You may also use liquid soap. Rinse off all foam and let the shaver run for a few more seconds. Then turn it off and remove the shaver foil (1) as shown (g) and let it dry. If you often clean your shaver under running water, put a drop of light machine oil onto the shaver foil.

Cleanin Remove the shaver foil (1) and tap it gently against a flat surface. Then thoroughly clean the cutter block (2) with the brush (7) as shown in (i). Do not clean the shaver foil with the brush as this may damage it.
