In the following we would like to familiarise
you with the appliance and provide some
useful information about epilation. Please
read the use instructions carefully and
thoroughly before using the appliance.
Braun Silk·épil X’elle has been designed
to make the removal of unwanted hair
as efficient, gentle and easy as possible.
Its proven epilation system removes hair
at the root, leaving your skin smooth for
weeks. As the hair that re-grows is fine
and soft, there will be no more stubble.
The exclusive, new epilation head
features 40 tweezers that are uniquely
arranged to remove more hair in a single
stroke for unprecedented efficiency. The

tips integrated in the epilation
SoftLift
head make sure that even short hairs
(0.5 mm) and flat lying hairs are removed
thoroughly at the root. It comes with two
different attachments:

The pain softener gently stimulates the
skin before and soothes it after the hair
is pulled out to significantly reduce the
pain sensation.

The flexible Efficiency Pro cap easily
fits your body curves for a fast and
pleasant epilation session. It ensures
maximum skin contact at the optimum
usage position thus enabling more
effective hair removal.
The SmartLight incorporated in the switch
reproduces an almost daylight condition,
thus revealing even the finest hair and
giving you a better control for improved
epilation efficiency.

If you have not used an epilator before, or
if you have not epilated for a longer period
of time, it may take a short while for your
skin to adapt to epilation. The discomfort
experienced at first is considerably
reduced with repeated use as the number
of hair to be removed decreases over time
and as the skin adjusts to the process.
The Cool & Soothe set helps reducing

possible skin irritations after epilation and
will also leave the skin feeling cool and fresh.
The underarm head is perfectly suited

to follow the contours of delicate body
parts such as under the arms and the
bikini lines. A reduced number of tweezers
and the narrow design, specifically
adapted to these body areas, improve the
handling and ensure a particularly gentle
epilation in these areas.
The facial head provides utmost

precision and control in removing
unwanted hair from face and other
sensitive areas. Its unique narrow and
elevated tip allows for better visibility over
the area you epilate so that you can
choose which hair to remove and which
one to leave behind.
Important
• This appliance must never be used near
water (e.g. a filled wash basin, bathtub
or shower).
• Keep the appliance out of the reach of
children.
• When switched on, the appliance must
never come in contact with the hair on
your head, eyelashes, ribbons, etc. to
prevent any danger of injury as well as
to prevent blockage or damage to the
appliance.
• Before use, check whether your voltage
corresponds to the voltage printed on
the transformer. Always use the 12 V
transformer plug supplied with the
product.
General information on epilation

Silk·épil is designed to epilate hair on legs,
but use tests monitored by dermatologists
have confirmed that you can also safely
epilate the underarm, the bikini line and
the face.
All methods of hair removal at the root can
lead to in-growing hair and irritation (e.g.
itching, discomfort and reddening of the
skin) depending on the condition of the
skin and hair.
This is a normal reaction and should quickly
disappear, but may be stronger when you
are removing hair at the root for the first
few times or if you have sensitive skin.
Using the cooling application will help to
prevent irritation.
If, after 36 hours, the skin still shows
irritation, we recommend that you contact
your physician.
In general, the skin reaction and the
sensation of pain tend to diminish
considerably with the repeated use of
Silk·épil.
In some cases inflammation of the skin
could occur when bacteria penetrate the
skin (e.g. when sliding the appliance over
the skin). Thorough cleaning of the epilation head before each use will minimise
the risk of infection.
If you have any doubts about using this
appliance, please consult your physician.
In the following cases, this appliance
should only be used after prior consultation with a physician:
– eczema, wounds, inflamed skin
reactions such as folliculitis (purulent
hair follicles) and varicose veins
– around moles
– reduced immunity of the skin, e.g.
diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy,
Raynaud’s disease
– haemophilia or immune deficiency.
Some useful tips
Epilation is easier and more comfortable
when the hair is at the optimum length
of 2-5 mm. If hairs are longer, we recommend that you either shave first and epilate
the shorter re-growing hairs after 1 or 2
weeks.
When epilating for the first time, it is
advisable to epilate in the evening, so that
any possible reddening can disappear
overnight. To relax the skin we recommend applying a moisture cream after
epilation.
Fine hair which re-grows might not grow
up to the skin surface. The regular use of
massage sponges (e.g. after showering)
or exfoliation peelings helps to prevent
in-growing hair as the gentle scrubbing
action removes the upper skin layer and
fine hair can get through to the skin surface.
It is a fact that hair re-growth will be
reduced by 50 % if you remove hairs from
the root regularly at least every 4 weeks
using your Silk·épil.

How to epilate
Preparing your skin
Your skin must be dry and free from
grease or cream.
Optional skin cooling: For the first few
epilations or if you have sensitive skin, you
can use the cooling application, recommended by dermatologists to help reduce
possible skin irritation.
• Ensure that the gel pack has been in
the deep freezer (***) for at least 2 hours
(for convenience you can store the gel
packs in the freezer).
• Insert the
glove’s transparent foil. Use only with

glove .
• Put transparent (cool) side of the glove
on your leg.
• Start cooling for approx. 1/2 minute,
longer if needed.
• Epilate the cooled skin area immedia-
tely as described.
• Repeat cooling and epilating until
completion.
• While epilating, please ensure your skin
is dry.

Keep away from sunlight. Do not use
gel pack when damaged. Dispose of in
household waste. Do not use if you are
hypersensitive, allergic to the cold, or if
your skin suffers from sensory disturbances, when suffering from cardiac diseases or arterial circulatory disorders.
Preparing the appliance
• Before starting, thoroughly clean the
epilation head .
• To exchange epilation heads, press the
release buttons and remove the
epilation head . Replace it with the
underarm head or with the facial

long as the appliance is switched on.

optimum performance hold the appliance at a right angle (90°) against your
skin. Guide it in a slow
movement without

switch. As hair can grow in different
directions, it may also be helpful to
guide the appliance in different
directions to achieve optimum results.
The pain softener should always be
kept in contact with the skin, allowing
the pulsating movements to stimulate
and relax the skin for a gentler
epilation.
If you are used to epilation and look for
a faster way to efficiently remove hair,
attach the EfficiencyPro clip . It

allows maximum skin contact and
ensures optimum usage so that more
hairs are removed in one stroke.
3 Leg epilation
Epilate your legs from the lower leg in
an upward direction. When epilating
behind the knee, keep the leg stretched out straight.
4 Underarm and bikini line epilation
For this specific application, the
underarm head has been

developed. Thanks to its specific
design adapted to the contours of
these areas, it provides a gentle and
thorough epilation.
Please be aware that especially at the
beginning these areas are particularly
sensitive to pain. With repeated usage
the pain sensation will diminish. For
more comfort, ensure that the hair is at
the optimum length of 2–5 mm.
Before epilating, thoroughly clean the
respective area to remove residue (like
deodorant). Then carefully dab dry
with a towel. When epilating the underarm, keep your arm raised up so that
the skin is stretched and guide the
appliance in different directions.
As skin may be more sensitive directly
after epilation, avoid using irritating
substances such as deodorants with
alcohol.
5 Facial epilation
With the facial head attached, your

Silk·épil is perfectly suited for conveniently removing any unwanted hair
from the face or other sensitive areas.
Prior to epilation, we recommend
cleaning the skin with alcohol to promote good hygiene.
Please use the included cleansing

wipes to wipe over the area you
want to epilate.
When epilating the face, stretch the
skin with one hand, hold the epilator in
a 90° angle with your other hand and
guide it slowly in the direction of the
switch.

single external use only. Do not use
in or near the eyes. Keep out of reach
of children. If inflammation develops,
discontinue use. Flammable, keep
away from fire or flame.
Ingredients: Isopropyl alcohol, aqua.
Cleaning the epilation heads
6 After epilating, unplug the appliance
and clean the epilation head used.
First remove the attachment used (

or ) and clean it with the brush.

cleaning brush dipped into alcohol.
Clean the tweezers with the brush from
the rear side of the epilator head while
turning the barrel manually. After
cleaning, place your preferred attach-

head.

or its appointed distributor.
This guarantee does not cover: damage
due to improper use, normal wear or use
as well as defects that have a negligible
effect on the value or operation of the
appliance. The guarantee becomes void if
repairs are undertaken by unauthorised
persons and if original Braun parts are not
used.

period, hand in or send the complete
appliance with your sales receipt to an
authorised Braun Customer Service

L'épilateur Silk·épil X’elle de Braun a
été conçu pour retirer les poils indésirables d'une manière aussi efficace, douce
et facile que possible. Son système d'épilation retire les poils à la racine, laissant
votre peau douce pendant des semaines.
En repoussant, les poils sont fins et doux,
pour un toucher plus agréable.
La nouvelle tête d'épilation dispose
de 40 pincettes à alignement continu,
permettant de retirer davantage de poils
en un seul passage, pour une efficacité
sans précédent. Les extrémités SoftLift
intégrées à la tête d'épilation permettent
de retirer efficacement à la racine même
les poils les plus courts (0,5 mm) et ceux

première épilation se réduit considérablement lors des utilisations suivantes : en
effet le nombre de poils à épiler diminue
avec le temps et la peau s’adapte au
procédé de l’épilation.
Le set rafraîchissant Cool & Soothe
aide à réduire les irritations possibles de la
peau qui peuvent apparaître après l’épilation. De plus, il laisse votre peau apaisée
avec une agréable sensation de fraîcheur.
La tête d’épilation des aisselles
convient parfaitement pour suivre les
contours des zones sensibles du corps
comme les aisselles et le maillot. Un
