6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
6.1 PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
• NOTE This material is for use as a spill absorbent material. The following section refers only to
accidental spills of this product alone. If SpillFix is being used as a universal absorbent, then the safety data sheet and other references pertinent to the released substances must be reviewed.
• RESPONSE TO INCIDENTAL RELEASES Personnel who have received basic chemical safety training
can generally handle small-scale releases. Wear gloves and safety glasses when cleaning-up spills.
• RESPONSE TO NON-INCIDENTAL Generally, releases of this product will be no larger than the
RELEASES loss of one bale (therefore under 300L in volume). Subsequently,
personnel can follow the instructions for incidental releases.
As needed, respond to non-incidental chemical releases of
this product (such as the simultaneous destruction of several pallets of this product) by clearing the impacted area and contacting appropriate emergency personnel.

1. Identify and isolate spill. Always follow workplace procedures for cleanup and disposal.
2. Apply SpillFix to perimeter of spill to stop from spreading.
3. Continue to apply SpillFix to center until spill is completely covered and no free liquid
is visible.
4. Sweep with a stiff broom working over spill area to remove all surface oil. Dispose of in
accordance of local and state regulations.
