Similar to the AWM 70, the AWM 65 is a two-way powered design. A 6.5-inch Kevlar®
bass/mid-range driver and 1-inch metal-dome tweeter are powered by an integral, 50W
amplifier employing active low-frequency equalisation. Heat is dispersed via an extruded
aluminium front baffle, while the integeral amplifier incorporates a heatsink which convects
heat into the wall void.

Technical highlights

Kevlar®: B&W developed and patented the method of using Kevlar® for
loudspeaker cones to reduce unwanted standing waves. DuPont originally
created Kevlar® for use in bulletproof vests.

Nautilus™ Tweeter: B&W's Nautilus Tweeter technology ensures that the sound
remains focused and time-sensitive and that the stereo-image is presented with
unparalleled three dimensional accuracy.
