Subject: Upgrade the Companion 5 firmware to ensure compatibility with Microsoft Vista operating systems.
Disposition: This Service Bulletin applies to systems built before June, 2007 (DOM 7152).
Symptom: Microsoft Vista - the volume mixer level does not throttle gain on volume when the Companion 5 is connected (Audio level is either “off “or “on full”).
Solution: Upgrade the Companion 5 firmware. Refer to the Bose Service Operation’s web site for software information:
