Subject: Loose input connector.
Disposition: Check all units manufactured before July 1, 2002. This issue has been corrected in units manufactured after July 1, 2002.
Symptom: Buzzing sound or intermittent/no audio output.
Reason: Buzzing may be caused by a loose input connector. Intermittent or no audio may be caused by a loose input connector that has moved and stressed the wire connection.
Solution: Check the wire connection at the input connector and then secure the input connector to the
cabinet using pop rivets.
Keyway
1. Remove the two center drivers to check the wiring at the two input connectors. Ensure the wires are securely attached. Refer to the 402 Series II service manual part number 260431 for disassembly procedures. http://serviceops.bose.com
2. Align the input connector on the cabinet with the connector’s keyway at the twelve o’clock position.
3. Using the existing mounting holes in the input connector as a |

4.Using a long nose pop rivet tool, secure the input connector to the cabinet using a pop rivet .675 inches in length and a grip range of
.376-.500. (Bose part number 263826-007, Emhart part number AD48H, www.emhart.com).
5.Repeat procedures 2-4 for the second input connector.
