BUSINESS CHALLENGE
All failed software projects have one thing in common – poorly understood requirements. When software applications fail to deliver, they don’t always fail in their entirety of course. Quite often it’s a case of simply not delivering enough of what really matters, and doing so on time, which causes these projects to be branded as failures. The challenge for businesses relying on software to deliver critical competitive advantage, or simply streamlining their operational efficiency, is quite often determined by the degree said business understands where the most value lies in their development efforts and subsequently focusing their software development efforts on the most “bang for buck” activities. This is the problem area which requirements definition (RD) as a key practice area sets out to address.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
TeamDefine™ excels in its ability to help customers discover and define application requirements in a visual and interactive manner using scenarios and simulations as the primary exploration tools. Designed to facilitate the elicitation process TeamDefine enable stakeholders to collaborate effectively so that projects can be delivered on time, within budget, and with greater customer satisfaction. Interactive simulations and visual scenarios can be captured and easily validated giving business and IT a common language for clear direction. Simulations come to life with realistic data and embedded business logic, providing stakeholders a fast way of seeing what they are really asking for and finding what may be missing before coding begins. This allows requirements to be feedback-cycled quickly and truly validated, eliminating costly rework downstream. Finally, the requirements generated from TeamDefine can be managed with CaliberRM and therefore traced throughout the project lifecycle, enabling software development teams to assess impact and respond rapidly to ever-changing requests without jeopardizing project success.
KEY BENEFITS
DETAILED FEATURE OVERVIEW
TeamDefine is designed to help your teams bring their software requirements to life ensuring that requirements are defined completely and unambiguously. Business users and analysts can now collaborate to assemble interactive simulations and visual scenarios in a web-based client. TeamDefine caters to four process areas of requirements definition:
Elicitation – Provide business users and analysts with a simple way to collaboratively create simulations that bring requirements to life and inspire innovation. The result is better communication and correct requirements from the start.
Analysis – Through simulation and scenario review users can identify significant business value in the shortest time possible. This task is simplified greatly by easy connectivity and contextual feedback features.
Specification – Iteratively and incrementally add detail to screens, logic and data in simulations, connect existing resources to visual scenarios and link everything to requirements. This ensures that all stakeholders have the information they need to understand quickly and effectively.
Validation – Business stakeholders can clearly envision the system by reviewing simulations, scenarios and requirements through interaction. All feedback is captured and time stamped for the team to review, respond and validate. This leads to accurate and complete requirements that truly meet the business needs.
TeamDefine offer the following benefits:
Visualization through simulation provides a foundation for
innovation and a force multiplier for all downstream IT development investments by ensuring the right “thing” gets built every time
TeamDefine helps customers reduce rework, eliminates time
wasted building non-used features, speeds time to market for new capability and helps CIO/SVP IT better optimize their project portfolios.
No syncing, importing or exporting of software requirements, as
items are created in one product, they immediately appear in the other when used in conjunction with CaliberRM
Complete integration of all artifacts, enabling you to associate
requirements to screens, data fields, and process items - even down to individual buttons - ensuring end-to-end visibility for all software requirements
Designed to bring speed and agility to the requirements
definition process in a user friendly fashion
Real time impact analysis and feedback collection
