Set your communication system to a volume that enables you at all times to perceive traffic noise and acoustic signals from other road users (particularly the police and emergency services). You might be in contra­vention of national road­safety legislation in some countries if you ride the motorcycle with the audio system set to a volume that would prevent you from

While riding the motorcycle, do not conduct telephone conversations that could distract you from the traffic situation. Keep your hands on the handlebars. Bring the motorcycle to a stop in order to use the buttons on a WCS-1 helmet, and do not ride off until you have con­cluded the conversation.

Do not, under any circum­stances, attempt to place an outgoing call on a mobile

Maintaining a defensive style of riding and thinking well ahead significantly enhance your per­sonal safety while you are on the road.

What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth technology was in­troduced in 1999.
Engineer's used the code name "Bluetooth" in honour of the tenth-century Viking king Bluetooth, who is credited with unifying Denmark, and bringing order into chaos.

You operate the BMW WCS-1 communication system by means of the three-button plastic-foil keypad on the left side of the helmet.

Operating modes
The BMW WCS-1 communica­tion system has four different operating modes, and the green LED lights up in a certain way to indicate which mode is selected.
Setup mode (settings)
The green LED flashes very rapidly.
Pairing mode
(connection setup) The green LED flashes
Acknowledgements
The system issues visual and acoustic acknowledgements to tell you whether your attempts to change settings are suc­cessful or unsuccessful.
Successful changes
The green LED lights up for one second and a high­pitched tone sounds.
Unsuccessful changes
The red LED flashes three times and a low-pitched tone
