Both the Ally PL3 and the Ally PL3x Illumination Tools require the proper installation of CR123A lithium batteries (only). Insert two NEW 3-volt CR123A batteries with positive (“+”) terminal end first towards the bezel end of the device. Use only high quality batteries such as Duracell, Panasonic or Night-Ops brands. The batteries are installed or changed by unscrewing the rear portion of the light by grasping the tailcap portion of the light with one hand and then turning the tailcap counterclockwise with the other until the tailcap housing can be removed. After the batteries are installed place the tailcap back on the end of the body and then screw it in a clockwise direction until it is snug.

Ally PL3 (SKU - 75FL015BK) and
PL3x (SKU - 75FL014BK) Instructions
Professional Class Illumination Tools & Accessories are high quality, illumination devices with single, dual or, in some cases, multi-function capabilities. These tools provide high output, digitally AND/OR non-digitally regulated white light (and in some cases red or green light) through the use of high quality Luxeon LED’s (light emitting diodes) AND/OR Xenon incandescent lamp assemblies. Professional Class illumination tools are designed with the following features in mind:
• Manufactured from aircraft grade aluminum
• Glass Lenses
• Durable Type II or 2 Type III Anodized finish
What is Type II Anodizing?
– Type II anodizing is the best “general” industrial anodized coating for the type of aluminum lights found in the Professional Class. Such anodizing will protect the aluminum parts by making the surface much harder than natural, bare aluminum and it will provide excellent corrosion protection and resistance to wear.
What is Type III anodizing?
– Type III anodizing is a “hard coat” process where a thick layer of aluminum oxide that is deposited on the surface of the aluminum, actually penetrates it, resulting in a
surface hardness approaching that of diamonds. In certain applications, Type III “hard coat” anodizing can be harder than case-hardened steel and can provide excellent abrasion resistance. In all cases, however, it is protective to the aluminum part and is an extremely durable finish for all types of uses and environments.
• High output, high pressure Xenon lamps OR; Luxeon 1 & 3 watt LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes)
• At the heart of the Ally PL3 and the Ally PL3x is a 3-watt LED. Unlike typical LED lights that are similar in size, the PL3 produces a true 65 lumens of light which is equivalent to the light of a 7 “D” cell flashlight and the PL3x produces a true 50 lumens of light on HIGH power (which is equivalent to the light of a 5 “D” cell flashlight) & 12 lumens on LOW power.
Mechanical Reliability
– The components of an LED are encased in a virtually indestructible high strength optical grade epoxy. There is no glass OR filament to break from drops, recoil, heat or other external stimuli. This makes LED’s perfect for rugged environments, weapons mounted applications or extreme temperatures. For in the case of most incandescent bulbs, even if the glass casing stays intact, the filament can break from sudden shock or even a soft drop. This can even be the case when the bulbs are housed in shock reducing flashlight housing designs.
Single, dual or multi-function switch capabilities including momentary, constant on, hi/low power differentials, light/laser combinations, etc. Mission, profession or specialized function-based designs leading to hunting, general outdoors, tracking, tactical, military, law enforcement and recreational applications.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Congratulations on your purchase of either the Night-Ops Ally PL3 or Ally PL3x illumination tool. While the “Ally PL3” and the “Ally PL3x” share the same dimensions and the same 3 watt LED with a pre-focused beam that provides a clean, bright hotspot with smooth transition to the corona and the beam edges, their features vary significantly, as do their uses.
SKU - 75FL015BK
The Ally PL3 can be utilized as a high output tactical light or as a great all purpose hunting, outdoors, or recreational light. At 65 lumens of light output, it produces the same amount of light output as a 7 “D” cell halogen light and has the capability of illuminating objects or targets up to 70 meters away. Digitally controlled, this lighting tool performs at full brightness for 1 hour and then at medium brightness for 2-3 hours of additional light output. When a traditional xenon, non-digitally controlled lighting tool, is out of battery life, the “PL-3” will still
provide usable light for an additional 1-2 hours. The clickable tailcap switch allows the user to operate this lighting tool in either momentary or “constant on” modes. Operates on two CR123A lithium batteries.
SKU - 75FL014BK
The Ally PL-3x is a multipurpose, digitally controlled lighting tool with the same pocketclip as seen on the Ally PL3. But this 2-level compact lighting tool provides 50 lumens of light output (the same amount of light output as a 5 “D” cell halogen light) when on HI power (4 hours expected lifespan) and 12 lumens of light output on LOW power (20 hours expected lifespan), On HI power, this lighting tool will illuminate objects and targets up to 65 meters away. On LOW power, it will allow for working and reading “up close” where the glare of a high powered lamp could be an issue. Great for recreational, outdoor, and general purpose lighting tasks in which the user requires and demands only the best! The clickable tailcap switch allows the user to operate this lighting tool in both HI and LOW “constant on” modes. Operates on two CR123A lithium batteries.
Proper care and use of this product will provide you with years of dependable service. Specifications for the Ally PL3 and the Ally PL3x
