IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
Read all instructions.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
WARNING - To prevent electric shock, unplug before cleaning.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces,
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toaster, as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls and the like, when in operation.
Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.

POLARIZED PLUG (120V Models Only)
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
ELECTRICAL CORD
a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided
to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel or in Latin America by an authorized service center.

How to Use
This product is only for household use.
PREPARING THE APPLIANCE BEFORE USE
1. Unpack toaster from box and remove any plastic stickers.
2. Remove any packing material that may have become lodged inside the toaster slots.
3. Place on a steady surface away from any water or flammable objects.
4. Insert power cord into outlet.
TOASTING
1. Adjust shade selector to the desired setting.
2. Insert slices into the toasting slots.
3. Press toaster lever downward until it locks into position
(A).
Note: When toasting is done, the toaster lever will
automatically release and partially raise the slices out of the slots. Pull the toaster lever upward for easier removal.
SPECIAL FUNCTIONS Toasting Bagels
In order to achieve the toasted top and soft bottom on bagels:
1. Insert bagel halves into the toaster slots with centers facing
inward.
2. Press down on toaster lever until it locks into position
(figure A)
3. Press bagel button and the button will light up (B).
Note: When toasting is done the toasting lever will automatically
release and partially raise the slices out of the slots. Pull the
toaster lever upward for easier removal.
Frozen Items
In order to toast frozen items:
1. Insert frozen items into toaster slots.
2. Press down on toaster lever until it locks into position.
3.
Press frozen item button and the button will light up (C).
Note:
a. When toasting is done the toaster lever will automatically
release and partially raise the slices out of the slots. Pull the toaster lever upward for easier removal.
b. Please note that you must press the special function button
after you press the toaster lever down into its locked position. If not, then the toaster will only toast as set by the shade selector knob.
Canceling any Function
If for any reason you would like to stop the toaster from completing a function, press the cancel button (D). This will automatically shut the unit off and release the toaster lever to return to the upward position.

Care and Cleaning
This product contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.
Before any cleaning always make sure that the toaster is cool to the touch, and the power cord has been removed from the outlet.
Crumb Tray
To remove the crumb tray you must:
1. Face the side of the toaster with the lever away from you.
2. While holding the toaster firmly with one hand, grasp the tray handle and pull towards you until tray disconnects from the toaster (E). Be careful not to pull too rapidly as some crumbs may spill from tray.
3. Empty crumbs from tray and wipe clean.
4. Reinsert tray and push into toaster until it is fully seated.
Outside Surfaces
To clean, take a damp cloth or sponge and wipe the outside. Do not wipe inside toaster. Do not spray inside or outside of toaster with liquid chemicals. Do not use any abrasives as they may damage the toaster's finish.
Storage
Wrap cord underneath the toaster using the cord brackets to hold in place (F).
HELPFUL TIPS
• Always toast thin slices and toaster pastries on light
setting.
• To rid the toaster of an obstruction, joggle the lever until
obstruction is removed.
