UNITASSEMBLY Layouttheunffasshowninfigure2. Removethe nutand boltfromtheuppersection(leftportion of Figure2). Slidethebottomportionintotheupperportionasindicated.Thetwohakesshouldsnaptogether.Re-insertthe
nutandbolttothe uppersection,andtightenbolt.Theunitshouldnowbe rigidlysecured.

showninFigure3. Ensuretileguard isfullyinserted.Re-insertthe screwthroughthetrimmerheadand into

Yourtrimmer is equipped with a chargerbracketthat may be mountedfirmly to a wall inyour garage,
shedor similar building. (HaVre for hanging the bracketis includedinthe plastic bag packedwith the trimmen)Charging your battery inthisbracketisvery convenientbecauseithangsthetool up, out of the
way and ensuresa good, solid contactbetweenthe charging terminals.
MOUNTINGTHECHARGERBRACKET
1. Ifyouintendtomount,thecharger bracketona wall, follow the instructionslistedbelow.
2. Removethetwo screwsand plastic anchorsfromtheplasticbag.
3. Usethecharger bracketto mark the locationsof theholesrequired.Besureto mountthe brackethigh
enoughsothatthe trimmercan hangfieely fromit;about4 feet(I .2m) fromthefloor:
4. Drilla .250" (6 mm)diameterhole at eachmarkedlocation.
5. Inserttheplasticanchorsintotheholesand insertoneofthe screwsineachone.Tightenthescrewsuntil
the headsare abovethe anchorsjustenoughsothat thecharger bracketwillfit betweentheanchorand the screw head.
6. Placethe chargerbracketon thewall narrow end up)and makesurethatthe powercord is positioned
inthesidesat. Pressthe charger bracketoverthe screwheadsand side it down unti it sitsfirmly onthe

LEDINDICATORLIGHT
Theunitis equipped with a red LEDcharging indicator light, locatedon the upperleftsideof the unit (Figure1).Theindicatorlight will comeon when the unitisproperly connectedtothecharging base andthe power plug is insertedintothe electricaloutlet.Thelightwill remainon, so long astheunit ispraperly connectedto the poweredchargingbase.It isrecommendedto storethe unit on thechargerduring the growing season,with thecharger plugged in, to havethe battery chargedfor the nextuse.

1. Insertone endofthe bulkline intothehole in the spoolasshownin Figure10 about I/8" (3.2ram).
2. Snuglyandevenlywindthe bulkline ontothespoolin thedirectionof the arrowon the spool, (figure11), untilthefine builds up to the notchesinthe spoolrim. DOnot overfillspool.Thespoolholdsabout20 feet
(6 m)of line.

1. Installthetrimmerontothecharger bracketbypositioningthe handlecavity,shownin Figure7 overthe hookof the charger bracket.
2. Rotatethetrimmerdown, keepingthehook engagedwiththehandlecavity,and positionthe chargeport overthe bracket'schargepin (figure7).
3. Plugthecharcjerintoanystandard 120 volt,60Hz outlet.Chargingwillbeautomaticallycontrolleduntil
you removethetrimmerfromthe bracket.
4. Itisrecommendedthat the trimmerbe left on charge,durinqtheflrowieg season.Forwinterorother extendedperiodsof storage,itis recommendedthat the unlitbe f[tlly charged prior to storage.

trigger switch. Totam the tool off, release the trigger switch.

CLEARINGJAMSAND TANGLEDUNES
Fromtimetotime,especiallywhencuttingthickor stalkyweeds,the line feeding hub may becomeclogged with sap or othermaterialandtheline will become jammedasa result.Toclearthe iam, foffowthe steps
listedbelow.
1. Turnthe unitupsidedown.
2. Pressthe releasetabson thelinehub cover andremoveby pulling it straightoff (Figure8).
3. Liftthe spoolof nylonlineoutofthe hubandclearanybrokenline orcuttingdebrisfromthespoolarea.
(Ifyou planto replacethespoolor rewindit,thisis theplace todoso, otherwise,moveon.)
4. Unwrapaboutonefoot 30 cm) of lineto ensurethatit'sundamaged.Ifitisokay,rewindit andinsertthe
lineendthroughtheeyeletinthespool hub asshownin figure 9. Ensurethespringis in place underthe
spool.Pullthe]ine throughtheholeto maintaintensionwhileplacingthesp:x_ldownintothehubwith thearrow up, as showninfigure9.
5. Pressthe spooldownGENTLYonthespringandrotateit untilyoufeel it drop intoplace.Takecareto
keepthe line frombecomingtrappedunderthespool.
6. Snapthe hubcap back onhold the too]inthe trimming position,andtorn thetoolon. Ina Jewseconds
or lessyou'll hear the nylonfinebeingcuttathe properlength;if notbumpthefeed head gently onthe
groundto initiatea freshlengthofline.

1. Turnthe unit upsidedown.
