Use only BISSELL portable machine formula (with Boost if desired) in your cleaner. Use of cleaning formulas which contain lemon or pine oil may damage this appliance and void the warranty. Chemical spot cleaners or solvent-based soil removers also should not be used. These products may react with the plastic materials used in your cleaner, causing cracking or pitting.

Assembling your portable machine is a simple process.
1. Slide the flex hose clip into the opening on the front of the machine. You will hear a “snap” when it is locked into place.
2. Snap the hose grip bracket into the back of the machine on the clean tank side. Wrap the flex hose around the unit and snap hose grip into bracket.
3. Snap the second tool storage into the back of the machine.
Charging Battery
Before charging, make sure unit is turned OFF.
1. Insert the charging adapter plug into the charging port on the back of the unit.
2. Plug the adapter into the wall outlet. The battery icon will illuminate red when charging. Charge the unit completely for 4 hours prior to first use.
NOTE: The adapter may become warm during charging - this is normal.
3. When the unit is fully discharged, approximately 4 hours of charging is required for the battery to regain full capacity.
NOTE: Make sure your unit is fully charged before using it. To check the battery status, turn the machine on by pressing the power button located on the handle. Battery is fully charged when all three of the blue status lights are illuminated.
Getting ready
1. To fill the clean water/solution tank a. Remove the tank by lifting it straight up
and away from the unit.
b. Pull on the black tab to reveal tank opening.
The plug rotates out of the way for easy filling.
c. FOR LARGE MESS: Follow the fill lines on
your clean tank to add the correct amount of hot tap water (140°F/60°C MAX), portable machine formula, and 1oz of BISSELL Boost.
FOR SMALL MESS: Follow the fill lines on
your clean tank to add the correct amount of hot tap water (140°F / 60°C MAX), and portable machine formula.
DO NOT BOIL OR MICROWAVE WATER.
d. Replace the plug by rotating into place
and pressing gently onto tank.

e. Replace the tank by lining up tank
bottom with indentations on machine. Press down firmly on tank to secure in position.
2. Release the flex hose from the hose grip bracket. Unwrap flex hose completely from around the unit.
3. Select desired tool for spot cleaning. Insert tool on end of hose until it clicks into place.
Pre-treating
Cleaning effectiveness will be enhanced if you pre-treat heavily stained or highly soiled areas. Here’s how to do it:
1. Hold the 3” Tough Stain Tool just above the carpet or upholstery to be cleaned. Press the trigger to mist solution over the soiled area. For the 3-n-1 Stair Tool, follow instructions on page 7.
2. Wait 3-5 minutes before cleaning.
Cleaning with the Tough Stain Tool
1. Attach the 3” Tough Stain Tool to the handheld cleaning hose. (You will hear a click when it is properly attached.)
2. Press the power button beneath the handle to turn it on. (Make sure unit is fully charged by checking the battery status indicator lights)
3. Hold the tool 1 inch above soiled surface.
4. Press the spray trigger to mist solution over
and onto the soiled area.
5. Release the spray trigger and gently scrub the stain.
6. To lift the stain away, apply downward pressure on the tool and slowly pull it toward you. Watch as powerful suction removes the dirt and cleaning solution. Continue until no more dirt can be removed.
7. As a final step, use “drying strokes” (by not pressing the spray trigger) to remove as much moisture as possible. Repeat this step as often as necessary.
NOTE: Oxy Boost formula will continue to clean oxidizable stains for 6-8 hours.

IMPORTANT
Check the manufacturer’s tag before cleaning upholstery. “W” or “WS” on the tag means you can use your SpotClean. If tag is coded with an “S” (with diagonal strike­through), or says “Dry Clean Only,” do not proceed. If manufacturer’s tag is missing or not coded, check with your furniture dealer.

» Deep cleaning stairs and high-trac areas on a regular
basis helps prolong carpet life.
» Check upholstery stung before cleaning. Colored
stung may bleed through the fabric when it becomes wet.
» Before turning o the machine, suction up clean
water to thoroughly rinse out the interior of the flex hose. Then, lift the cleaning tool and point it upwards to drain any remaining water into the dirty water/ collection tank.

Cleaning with the 3-n-1 Stair Tool (select models)
This versatile 3-way tool sprays, scrubs, and suctions up dirt and stains from the outer curves, corner, and tread of carpet staircase.
1. Attach the tool to the end of the hose. (You will hear a click when it is properly attached).
2. Press the power button to turn on SpotClean.
3. Twist the tool head to desired setting to clean
carpeted stair. The downward facing edge is the active cleaning mode.

c. Use pointed edge to clean inside crevice
4. Ensure the tool spray tip is pointing downward. Pressing trigger, slowly move the tool back and forth over the soiled surface keeping the tool in contact with the carpet.
5. Release trigger and move tool slowly over the soiled area to suction up water and dirt.
6. Continue to clean the area until no more dirt can be removed.
7. After use, tool can be easily cleaned by removing the front faceplate. Rinse out tool before storing.
After cleaning
1. Turn off machine.
2. To flush the tools and hose before storage,
suction up a bowl of clean water to ensure all debris is removed.
3. Empty and rinse the dirty water tank after each use, OR when dirty water reaches the indicated maximum fill line.
a. To remove the dirty water collection tank,
simply lift up on the tank from the base of the machine.
b. Pull tab to remove plug from tank c. Rinse out dirty tank with clean water
after emptying.
4. Empty remaining formula and water from the clean tank and rinse with water before storage.
5. Disconnect the cleaning tool from the hose grip by pushing down on button lock and pulling straight off. (Do NOT twist tool to remove it).
6. Check spray nozzle for accumulated dirt or debris. If necessary, clean with soft bristle brush.
7. The float stack can be removed from the dirty tank for cleaning. Turn it counter-clockwise to remove it. Rinse with water until all debris is removed. Replace the float stack in the dirty tank and turn clockwise to lock.

Machine storage
1. Wipe all surfaces with a soft cloth.
2. Wrap flex hose around the base of the unit
and secure the hose in hose grip bracket.
3. Store unit in protected, dry area, at room temperature.
Disposal of batteries
If your SpotClean Cordless is to be disposed of, the bat­teries should be removed and disposed of properly to avoid the risk of fire. This unit is considered to have a safety extra-low voltage circuit. There is no risk of electric shock derived from the battery pack.
You will need the following supplies to disassemble your unit: a long handled Phillips screwdriver, scissors, electrical tape, flat-head screwdriver.
1. IMPORTANT: Unplug Charger.
2. Run the unit until it shuts off.
3. Unclip hose & remove tanks
4. Remove 3 Phillips head screws from the dirty tank
side. Pull off cover and set aside.
5. Remove 3 Phillips head screws from the clean tank side. Pull off cover and set aside (5b).
6. Remove 7 screws from back of unit.
7. Pull up on handle to remove the main housing from
the base.
8. To pull apart the main housing, the front panel will be attached by 3 wires (black, brown, and green). Cut these wires to detach the front panel.
9. Unscrew 3 Phillips head screws from circuit board. Pull the board to the side.
10. Remove 3 Phillips head screws to release the battery pack.
11. Use a flat head screwdriver to open the battery pack and remove battery.
12. Cut connecting wires one at a time about an inch in length from the battery pack. Wrap wire ends connected to the battery pack one at a time with electrical tape to prevent the risk of fire.
13. Keep Battery Pack together – DO NOT separate individual batteries. For specific disposal instructions
of batteries, please contact RBRC (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) 1-800-822-8837 or visit www.rbrc.com.
14. Recycle remainder of product
CAUTION: Disconnecting the battery will destroy the appliance and invalidate the warranty.
