WARNING
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of ele ctrical shock. C heck with a qualifi ed electrician or s ervice person i f you aren’t sure if the o utlet is properly gro unded. DO NOT MODI FY THE PLUG . If it will not fit the outl et, have a proper outle t installed by a qualifi ed electrician . This appliance is d esigned for use on a no minal 120-volt circuit, a nd has a grounding at tachment plug th at looks like the plu g in the illustra tion. Make certai n that the appliance i s connected to an outl et having the same co nfiguration as th e plug. No plug ada pter should be used wi th this appliance.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appl iance must be conne cted to a grounded wiring sys tem. If it should mal function or brea k down, grou nding provides a sa fe path of least resistan ce for electrica l current, reducin g the risk of electr ical shock. The co rd for this applian ce has an equipment-grounding conductor and a groundi ng plug. It must only b e plugged into an outlet tha t is properly instal led and grounded i n accordance with all l ocal codes and ordinances.

Handle Base 4 Screws 3” Tough Stain
Assembly
Go to support.BISSELL.com for assembly videos.
1. Slide the Upper Handle onto
the body of the machine by guiding the 2 posts on the body into the opening on the Upper Handle.
2. Firmly holding the Upper
Handle in place, screw 2 screws into the marked holes at an upward angle. Screw the remaining screws into the outermost holes under the support handle.

3. Wrap Power Cord around
Quick Release™ Cord Wrap.

4. Wrap Flex Hose around the
hose wrap and secure with latch.
5. Align the portable spot &
stain cleaner and push down firmly until it’s secured. Plug the machine in and turn ON to make sure the Upright Cleaning Mode Indicator Light illuminates. If it does not, remove and reseat the portable cleaner so it’s secure.
6. Snap attachment(s) into the
back of machine.
Note: Portable spot & stain cleaner must be fully secure to operate in upright cleaning mode.
