IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR UPRIGHT VACUUM.
Always connect to a polarized outlet (one slot is wider than the other). Unplug from outlet when not in use and before conducting maintenance. When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be observed, including the following:

outlet (one slot is wider than the other). Do not modify the polarized plug to fit a non-polar ized outlet or extension cord.
» Do not leave vacuum cleaner
when it is plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
» Do not use outdoors or on
wet surfaces.
» Do not allow to be used as a toy.
Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
» Do not use for any purpose other
than described in this User’s Guide. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
» Do not use with damaged cord or
plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it repaired at an authorized service center.

» Do not pull or carry by cord, use
cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
» Do not unplug by pulling on
cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
» Do not handle plug or vacuum
cleaner with wet hands.
» Do not put any object into
openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
» Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers,
and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
» Turn off all controls before
plugging or unplugging vacuum cleaner.
» Use extra care when cleaning
on stairs.
» Do not use to pick up flammable
or combustible materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in areas where they may be present.
» Do not use vacuum cleaner in an
enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil base paint, paint thinner, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
» Do not use to pick up toxic
material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
» Do not pick up anything that is
burning or smoking, such as
cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes. » Do not use without filters in place. » Do not pick up hard or sharp
objects such as glass, nails, screws,
coins, etc. » Use only on dry, indoor surfaces. » Keep appliance on a level surface. » Do not carry the vacuum cleaner
while it is running. » Unplug before connecting or dis
connecting the TurboBrushTM Tool.

To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

Snap TurboBrush tool and clip onto wand.

NOTE: Some frieze carpets have long delicate fibers or threads that may be damaged by rotating brush. Turn o the PowerBrush when cleaning this and other similar types of carpet.
WARNING
Before using your vacuum, make sure that the dirt container is in locked position and that all filters, both pre and post-filters are in place. DO NOT operate your vacuum without these filters.

Locate main hose connection on back of vacuum, press lever and pull to unlock.

Extra Reach Hose
Pull Extra Reach Hose off back of vacuum and insert into Main Hose connection.
Make sure latch is secured before turning vacuum on.
Press down on Height Adjustment Lever and pull out Handle.
Connect Extra Reach Hose to back of Handle, making it a Wand.
Attach desired cleaning tool to end of wand.

Pull handle to push Dirt Container away from vacuum
Holding Dirt Container over a trash bin, press Release Button on back.

Twist top right to separate.

With dirt container removed, press red release button to access post-motor filter.
Clean all filters with mild detergent, rinse, and squeeze all excess water. Allow filters to dry completely before reinserting.

Rinse and dry all sections of dirt container with paper towel.

Remove pre-motor filters and check for dirt on BOTH sides. Separator Screen can be rinsed and dried as well.

Place dry pre-motor filters back on top of dirt container with black tabbed side on top. Place post-motor filter back to bottom front of vacuum and snap filter cover door back on.

When reassem­bling, place top tank piece last and twist left.

Maintenance: Replace the Brush & Belt

Unplug vacuum, turn over and unscrew 7 Philips head screws to remove bottom cover

Pull roller straight out, threading through belt

Replace roller and/or belt. To reassemble roller, thread through belt and line up End Cap, then place bottom cover back on and replace 7 screws.
Maintenance: Maintain the TurboBrush

WARNING
Do not operate vacuum with damp or wet filters, as well as without filters or the Dirt Container in place. Allow components to dry before reassembling the Dirt Container.
NOTE: If an object becomes lodged in foot and brush shuts o, turn vacuum o and unplug from electrical outlet. Remove obstruction and brush will automatically reset when vacuum is plugged and turned back on.

Troubleshooting
WARNING
To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power switch o and disconnect plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks.
Problem Possible causes Remedies
PowerBrush doesn’t rotate
The PowerBrush power switch is turned off
Vacuum is locked in upright position
PowerBrush has lodged debris or other entanglements, keeping the brush from rotating
Make sure PowerBrush switch is on
Recline vacuum and switch on the PowerBrush
Check the PowerBrush and remove debris.
Vacuum won’t pick up dirt
Dirt is escaping from the vacuum
Filters are dirty
The Main Hose is not connected Locate the Main Hose and reconnect
There is a crack or hole in the Main Hose
The Power Brush bristles are worn Replace the PowerBrush
There is a clog in the vacuum Remove debris and any other
The Dirt Container is not seated correctly
The Dirt Container is full Empty the Dirt Container
Filters are missing Check to see if all of the Pre-Motor
The Dirt Container is not seated properly
Remove and rinse pre-motor and post-motor filters. Allow enough time for them to dry properly before reinserting
by pushing the hose connection to secure the latch
If there is a crack or hole, order a new Main Hose from the BISSELL website
entanglements that may be restricting its rotation
Press the Empty Button to release the Dirt Container and reseat properly
and Post-Motor filters are in place
Press the Empty Button and remove the Dirt Container. Insert the bottom first and pivot the Dirt Container towards the vacuum. Listen for a “click” sound, indicating that it snapped into place

This warranty applies to product used for personal, and not commercial or rental service. This warranty does not apply to fans or routine maintenance components such as filters, belts, or brushes. Damage or malfunction caused by negligence, abuse, neglect, unauthorized repair, or any other use not in accordance with the User's Guide is not covered.
BISSELL IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY NATURE ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT. BISSELL’S LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT.
