HOW THE AIR PURIFIER WORKS
Dirty, dust laden air is drawn through the rear of the air purifi er and through the multi-stage ltration system.
1. The washable foam pre-fi lter captures larger particles and extends the HEPA-type fi lter’s replacement cycle.
2. The HEPA-type fi lter entraps 99% of all smaller visible and non-visible particles down to 2 microns in size.
3. The independent ioniser naturally improves performance and freshens the air.
PRODUCT FEATURES
High, Medium and Low settings
For optimum air fi ltration, operate your air purifi er continuously on the Medium (2) setting. Its rugged motor has been designed to give many years of use. For quieter operation (such as in a bedroom), select the Low (1) setting. When high levels of air pollution are present, select the High (3) setting.
Filter Service Indicator
The fi lter service indicator light (L) eliminates guesswork by letting you know when it is time to replace the HEPA-type fi lter. The light is green
when the fi lter is fully clean, yellow when the fi lter is nearing replacement, and red when the fi lter needs to be replaced. After the fi lter is replaced, reset by pressing down 3 seconds on the fi lter reset button (I). Note that the green and red lights will blink three times when the unit is turned on, and the green light will blink three times after being reset.
Timer
The timer allows you to run the air purifi er at your convenience for 2, 4 or 8 hours, and automatically turns the power off when time is up.
Ioniser
This appliance has an independent ioniser feature which, when turned on, releases negative ions into outgoing fi ltered air to help the air purifi cation process.
What Are Ions?
Ions are tiny particles that carry a positive or negative charge. They exist naturally around us: in the air, water, and ground. Both positive and negative ions are colourless, odourless, and completely harmless.
How Does The Ioniser Work?
Negative ions help air purifi cation by attaching themselves to very small airborne particles in the room. These particles take on a negative charge and may join with positively charged particles such as dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander to form larger particles. The larger particles are then more easily captured by the fi lter system.
Important Notes:
Your ioniser may produce an occasional popping or cracking sound. This is normal and occurs when a small buildup of ions is discharged.
After extended use, you may notice dust around the grills or front panel.
• This is caused by negative ions exiting the air outlet, evidence of the ioniser’s air cleaning effectiveness.
• You can remove the dust with a soft brush or clean, damp cloth.
Larger particles may be attracted to positively charged surfaces throughout the home, like walls or fl oors.
This may occur more frequently when the fi lter is nearing the end of its useful product life and unable to capture as many charged particles.
• Excessive amounts of pet dander, dust, or smoke may decrease the life expectancy of the fi lter(s) and interfere with the ionisation process.
To help prevent particles from attracting to surfaces throughout your home:
• You may want to run the ioniser less often.
• Check the condition of the fi lter(s) more frequently.
CAUTION: The ioniser in this appliance produces less ozone than the UL* established limits of 50ppb. However, in high concentrations, ozone can be harmful to birds and small pets. To prevent ozone buildup, we suggest using the ioniser in well ventilated areas with the fan on.
NOTE: it is important to change the HEPA-type fi lter at recommended intervals. Using the ioniser in conjunction with dirty fi lters may result in dirty particles exiting the air purifi er and being attracted to walls, carpets, furniture and other household objects. These dirty particles may prove very diffi cult to remove.
PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Carefully unpack your air purifi er.
2. Select a fi rm level place where there are no obstructions to the air inlet (rear grill) or ltered air outlet.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Plug into a 220-240V electrical outlet.
2. Press the Power button (
).
3. You can then press the Speed button ( ) for the desired speed setting: HIGH (3), MEDIUM (2), or LOW (1).
4. To release negative ions into the fi ltered air, press the Ioniser button (
) and the light will
illuminate.
5.
You may set the timer so that it automatically turns off when the desired time has elapsed. Press the Timer button ( ) until you reach the desired number of hours you want the unit to operate (2, 4 or 8). The number of hours will light up and remain illuminated. When the time has expired, the air purifi er will turn off. To cancel the timer, press the Timer button ( ) one more time. You may also cancel the timer operation by turning the Power button off.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Turn the air purifi er off and unplug it before cleaning.
2.

FILTER REPLACEMENT IMPORTANT: IN ORDER TO RETAIN THE
EFFICIENCY OF YOUR AIR PURIFIER, THE HEPA-TYPE FILTERS NEED TO BE CHANGED EVERY 3-6 MONTHS. THE FILTER SERVICE INDICATOR LIGHT (L) WILL TURN RED WHEN IT IS TIME TO REPLACE THE HEPA-TYPE FILTERS.
1. Every few weeks check the condition of the pre-fi lter.
2. Remove the inlet grill by pressing down on the knob at the top. If the foam pre-fi lter has collected a noticeable amount of dust, remove it from the inlet of the grill and wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry the pre-fi lter thoroughly before replacing it in the inlet of the grill.
3. With the inlet grill removed, remove the HEPA-type fi lters and dispose in the dust bin. DO NOT try to wash and re-use the fi lters. Replace with two new HEPA-type fi lters or True HEPA fi lters against smoke, removing the protective plastic bag before inserting into the air purifi er.
4. Align the clips on the side of your fi lter with the rails on the inside of the unit. Gently slide the fi lter onto the rails.
5. The fi lter clip should easily slide onto the fi lter hang tabs. Do not use force while attaching the fi lter clip to the fi lter. Align the clip on the side of your fi lter with the rails on the inside of the unit.
NOTE: The pleated material and rubber
gasket should be facing towards the unit when applied.
6. Replace the inlet grill by positioning bottom of grill and then snapping back on to the unit. Make sure that it fi ts securely into position (the grill only goes on one way)
NOTE: Do not point outlet towards wall.
7. The fi lter service indicator light should be reset once the fi lters have been replaced. Reset by pressing down 3 seconds on the lter reset button (I).
