Corded phone EFFECT X2020
Before initial use carefully read these Instructions in order to get
acquainted with your new appliance. Please, save the Instructions
for future reference.
SAFETY MEASURES
When using this unit, the following safety precautions should al-
ways be followed: Do not clean the unit using chemical solvents, abrasive materials or
aerosol cleaners – as they may ooze into the telephone and become a cause of damages that are not covered by the warranty. If necessary, use a damp cloth for cleaning.
Do not expose the phone to high temperatures, humidity and or
direct sunlight.
We have done everything to make this phone meet the require-
ments of the quality standards. However, if some malfunction occurs, please do not try to repair it by yourself.
Do not install this unit near water, for example, near a bathtub,
washbowl, kitchen sink, or other sources of high humidity. Electrical equipment may be a cause of serious injuries if you use it being wet or standing in water.
If you have dropped the base unit into water, do not touch it until
after you disconnect it from the phone line; then take it out by the disconnected cords.
When mounting the phone on the wall, make sure that there is no
concealed wiring in the wall.

LOCATION OF CONTROLS
1. Handset.

4. SPK button – turns on the Speakerphone mode.
5. REDIAL button – redials the last dialed number.
6. PAUSE button – use this button to insert a pause while dial­ing.
7. FLASH button – can be used if your telephone company supports this feature.
8. MEMORY button – use this button to dial a phone number stored in the phone memory
9. STORE button – saves a phone number to the phone memory.
10.One-touch dial buttons M1, M2, M3 – dial previously stored number by pressing a single button.
11.“In use” indicator – lights up when your phone goes on-line (when you lift the handset).
12.Ring indicator light – lights up on incoming call, simultaneously with the ringer sounding.
13.Handset holder – holds the handset when the phone is mounted on a wall
14.Cradle switch – disconnects the phone from the telephone line.

15.Mounting holes – to mount the base unit on a wall.
16.RINGER Off/Lo/Hi switch – to switch off/change volume of the ringer.
17.VOLUME control - to control the speakerphone volume.
18.P-T switch – to change dialing mode (pulse/tone).
19.Handset cord jack – to connect the handset to the base unit.
20.Base unit handset cord jack – to connect the handset to the base unit.
21.Telephone line jack – to connect the phone to the telephone line.
22.Telephone line cord – to connect the phone to the telephone line.
23.Handset cord – to connect the handset to the base unit.

INSTALLING AND
CONNECTING
1. Insert one end of the handset cord [23] into the handset jack [19], and the other end – into the base unit jack [20].
2. Connect one end of the phone line cord [22] to the phone line jack [21] at the base unit rear side, and the other end of the phone line cord [22] to the phone line socket.
3. Your phone can either be installed on a table or mounted on a wall. If you want to install the phone on a table or any other horizontal surface, just place your phone on this surface. If you want to mount the phone on a wall or any other vertical surface, you can use the mounting holes [15], which allow you to mount your phone on a vertical surface.
4. You can dial a phone number in the pulse or tone mode. To choose the appropriate mode, just slide the P-T switch [18] to the “Tone” position for Tone dialing and to the “Pulse” position for pulse dialing.
MAKING CALLS
Making calls
1. Lift the handset [1] or press the SPK button [4], and wait until you hear the dial tone.
2. Using the dialing buttons, dial a number.
Answering calls
1. When the phone rings, lift the handset [1] or press the SPK button [4] (The Call indicator [12] lights up on the base unit simultaneously
with the ring.)
2. To hang up after finishing the conversation, place the handset [1] on the base unit or press the SPK button [4] once again.

Note:
To switch the call from the speakerphone to the handset during the
course of call, just lift the handset [1]. To switch the call from the handset to the speakerphone, press the SPK button [4] then place the handset on the base unit.
Finishing calls
To finish the call, simply place the handset [1] on the base unit or
press the cradle switch. When using the speakerphone, press the SPK button [4].
Note:
When you are speaking, the "In use" indicator [11] lights up.
Adjusting the ringer volume
Using the HI/LO/OFF switch [16], you can switch the ringer off or
select high (HI) or low (LO) ringer volume.
Adjusting the speakerphone volume
The speakerphone volume can be adjusted by sliding the VOLUME y
control lever [17]. If you hear unpleasant sounds from the speaker, decrease the volume using the VOLUME y control lever [17].
Redialing the last dialed number
1. Lift the handset [1] or press the SPK button [4].
2. Press the REDIAL button [5].
3. The last dialed number will be redialed.
Flash button
Use the FLASH button to:
1. Use the conference call, call waiting and other services provided by your telephone company.
2. Immediately finish the call to start new number dialing.
Inserting a pause in the dialed number
When saving a phone number in the phone memory, press the
PAUSE button [8] where the pause is needed (if a long pause is necessary, then press the PAUSE button [8] several times). For example, if you are dialing through a PBX and should dial '9' to access the PBX trunk, press the PAUSE button [8] after entering '9' and then enter the number you want to store.
Dialing a number stored in the telephone memory
You can store in the phone memory up to three phone numbers for
one-touch dialing (by pressing the M1, M2 or M3 button [10]) and 10 phone numbers for speed dialing (by pressing two buttons). Each stored number shall not exceed 16 symbols. The symbols can be digits from 0 to 9, “*” and “#” [14].
Storing a number in the phone memory for one-
touch dialing
1. Lift the handset [1] or press the SPK button [4].
2. Press the STORE button [9].
3. Enter the number you want to store in the memory.
4. Press one of the one-touch dialing buttons - M1, M2 or M3 [10].
5. Place the handset [1] on the base unit or press the SPK button [4] to complete the storing procedure.

Dialing a number stored in one-touch dialing
memory
1. Lift the handset [1] or press the SPK button [4].
2. Press the appropriate one-touch dialing button - M1, M2 or M3 [10].
3. The phone will automatically start dialing the stored number.
Note:
If you want to change a phone number stored in any of the one-
touch dialing locations, just store a new number as described above.
Storing a number in the phone memory for
speed dialing
1. Lift the handset [1] or press the SPK button [4].
2. Press the STORE button [9].
3. Enter the number you want to store in the memory.
4. Press the STORE button [9] once again.
5. Press one of the speed dialing buttons (0…9 [3]).
6. Place the handset [1] on the base unit or press the SPK button [4] to complete the storing procedure.
Dialing a number stored in speed dialing
memory
1. Lift the handset [1] or press the SPK button [4].
2. Press the Memory button [8] and then one of the digit buttons 0…9 [3] corresponding to the memory location, which stores the desired phone number.
Note:
If you want to change a phone number stored in any of the speed
dialing memory locations, just store a new number as described above.

- Check that the Pulse/Tone switch is in the correct position
- Disconnect the phone from the line, wait for 30 seconds and reconnect

- Check that the cradle switch is in upper position
- There may be too many phones connected in parallel to a single phone line
- Check the position of the 'Ringer On/Off' switch

The warranty is void in the following cases

Improper care (liquids, dust, insects and other foreign items or
substances getting inside the phone).
Application of excess physical force while operating the phone
(mechanical damages resulting from incorrect operation, shock or dropping).
Unauthorized repair or parts replacement carried out by a non-
authorized person or service center.
Accidents, such as lightning strike, flood, fire and other acts of God.

Не следует чистить аппарат с помощью химических
растворителей, абразивных материалов, распылителей – они могут проникнуть внутрь устройства и стать причиной повреждений, на которые не распространяется действие гарантии. При необходимости протрите устройство влажной салфеткой.
Не подвергайте телефон воздействию высоких температур,
влажности и сильного солнечного излучения.
Были предприняты все необходимые меры для обеспечения
соответствия аппарата стандартам качества. Тем не менее, при возникновении повреждений не пытайтесь производить ремонт самостоятельно.
Не следует устанавливать телефон вблизи раковин, ванной
комнаты, душа или других источников повышенной влажности. Электрическое оборудование может стать причиной серьезных травм, если Вы пользуетесь им, будучи мокрым или стоя в воде.
Если базовый блок упал в воду, не берите его, пока не
отключите от телефонной линии; затем вытащите базовый блок за отсоединенные провода.
При установке на стену убедитесь, что в стене не проходят
электрические провода.
