Important information for your safety
Please observe the following
instructions to avoid the hazard of electrical shock:
• Please ensure that the base and its electrical connections never get in contact with water. If the base should unintentionally get moist, let it dry out completely.
• Use the water cooker only with the provided base.
• Please ensure that the power cable never gets wet or moist in use.
• Never allow it to get pinched or otherwise damaged.
• Should the power cable or the plug get damaged, have the customer service replace it before you use the kettle again.
• Always pull the plug out of the socket after use. It is not sufficient to switch it off because the kettle is still on as long as the plug is in the socket.
Please observe the following
instructions to avoid the hazard fire or injury:
• Always heat the water with the lid closed, because the automatic switch-off mechanism will not function otherwise and boiling water may spill over the edge.
• The kettle is very hot when in use and hot clouds of steam may escape. Therefore, always wear oven gloves.
• Make sure that the kettle is set up vertically in a stable position before you switch it on. Boiling water can make a kettle fall over if it is not set up in a stable position.
• Never leave a kettle unattended that is generating heat.
• Do not allow children or infirm persons to handle it without supervision because they may not always be able to correctly assess potential hazards.

Using the kettle
Before you use the kettle, satisfy yourself that... – the kettle, plug and power cable are
in good working order...
– and all packaging material has been
removed from the kettle.
Fill the kettle with water to the MAX mark and let it come to a boil once as described in the next number. Then pour off this water.
Boiling water
• A lamp in the level display indicates that the kettle is now heating up.
• The kettle switches it self off when the water is boiling properly. The ON/OFF switch pops out again and the lamp goes out.
• In order to interrupt heating, push the ON/OFF switch up again (the lamp also goes out in this case).
Warning: Please pull the plug out
of the socket before you lift the can from the base. This prevents water
from spilling onto the electrical connections in the base and causing a short-circuit.
Danger: Never place the electrical
base near water – life-threatening danger!
Only boil as much water as you need. This saves electricity, water and time.
• Remove the can to fill it.
• Open the lid by pressing the release button.
• Hold the can vertically when filling it to ensure that the level display on the side properly indicates the water level. Fill the can...
– at least to the level of 0.5 L to ensure
that the kettle does not overheat,
– no more than to the MAX mark to
ensure that boiling water does not spill over.
• Close the lid...
• and place the can on the base until it is set on its base completely straight.
• Now put the plug into the socket...
• and press the ON/OFF switch downward until it locks into place.
For safety reasons and to avoid injuries do not open the lid when the water is boiling or very hot.
Cleaning and Care
Danger: Never open any of the
device parts. No operating elements are located inside the device. An open housing can create the risk of a lifethreatening electrical shock. Never submerse any parts of the device in water or other liquids! This can create the risk of a life-threatening electrical shock if residual liquid comes into contact with powered components.
Before cleaning the kettle, ....
• pull the plug out of the socket and let the kettle cool off.
• Clean all exterior surfaces and the power cable with a slightly moist rinsing cloth. Dry the kettle off every time before using it again.
