Safety Instructions

Warning: When connecting the headphones, make sure that you have turned

When wearing wired headphones, avoid any sudden movements. You could
seriously injure yourself, especially if you have any piercings or wear earrings or
glasses, etc. that can get caught in the wire.

Warning – Microphone

Please make sure that you do not connect the microphone to microphone inputs
supplying phantom power (12 - 48 V), as this will damage the microphone.

the volume down to the minimum. Adjust the volume only after the
headphones are in place.
We would like to point out that listening at high volumes over a long
period of time may damage your hearing irreversibly.
Make sure that the set volume is not too high. Rule of thumb: The
higher the volume, the shorter the time of listening. This also shows
an example from working life: According to the Occupational Health
and Safety Regulations of German trade associations, noise
pollution e.g. in the workplace must not exceed 85 dB (room
volume level) during a maximum permissible listening time of
8 hours. If the volume level is increased by 3 dB respectively, the
permissible listening time is cut in half, i.e. at 88 dB, the listening
time is 4 hours, at 91 dB 2 hours, etc.

Applications

The MMX 300 is an ideal headset for all gaming, multimedia and Voice over IP
applications. The technology of the MMX 300 is based on the reliable HS 400
aviation headset suitable for hi-fi applications. The noise-cancelling microphone
with a crystal-clear sound ensures a clear and precise voice transmission even in
noisy surroundings. The closed design guarantees absolute undisturbed enjoy­ment of game and sound combined with a high comfort due to soft, replaceable
ear and headband pads.
Thanks to the cable remote control and supplied adapter cable the MMX 300
headset is suitable for use with a PC and gaming with a notebook or console
which have a mini (3.5 mm) combination jack.

Setting up and Use of the Headset

Put the headset on your head. The microphone is on the left side. Position the
microphone to the front of the middle of the mouth. In order to avoid pop noise
you should use the microphone with a pop shield.

Headband

For best comfort and noise attenuation, the headband can be adjusted to fit
your head properly.
Wear the headset so that the headband runs over the top of your head and
adjust the headband so that

• your ears are completely enclosed by the ear cushions,

• you feel a gentle pressure around your ears,

• both ends of the headband have the same length to ensure a proper fit

Microphone

• Turn the microphone holder (not the
gooseneck!) to position the micro­phone as requested.

• The pop shield should enclose the microphone completely.

• Bend the flexible gooseneck so that the microphone is placed about 2 cm in
front of the middle of your mouth.
Important: In order to avoid overstretching and premature wear and tear
never bend the gooseneck more than 90°.

Note:

A common source of error is that the 5-pole jack connector is not properly
connected to the headset. If the headset does not work, please check first
whether the cable is completely plugged into the headphone housing of the
MMX 300. Please refer also to fig. 1.

There is a locking protection on the 5-pole jack connector of the connecting
cable, which has to lock in place. When a malfunction occurs, simply pull out
the plug again and push it firmly into the socket with a slight rotary motion so
that all 5 poles of the connector have contact. Please refer also to fig. 2.

• The remote control integrated in the cable is provided with a mute switch to
mute the microphone, a volume control and a button for accepting calls,
media control and temporary mute.

• Mute disabled:
Slide the mute switch upwards (red marking not visible).

• Mute enabled:
Slide the mute switch downwards (red marking visible).

Maintenance

• As with any equipment which will be used in close proximity to sensitive areas
of the body, it is essential that the ear pads and headband are kept clean. Use
a damp cloth for cleaning using warm water only taking care not to allow any
water drops into the transducers.

• For cleaning the pop shield remove it from the microphone and wash it
under clear running water. If necessary you can use a mild cleansing agent
(e.g. washing-up liquid). Make sure that the pop shield is completely dry
before you replace it onto the microphone.

Changing the Headband Pad

1. Open the Velcro and remove the padding from the headband. Take care not to
damage the cable.

2. Place the new opened headband pad on the underside of the headband.
Make sure to lay the cable in the crease of the pad on the outer edge of the
band. Tip: to do this, splay the headphones slightly, over both knees, for
example.

3. First close the middle Velcro fastening and the two outer ones.

How to replace the Ear Pads

• Should it become necessary, replace the
ear pads.

• Pull the ear pads up and remove them
from the earcups. The new ear pads can
be attached easier, if you warm them
beforehand.

• If other components have to be replaced,
please contact your beyerdynamic dealer.

Service

Servicing must be carried out by qualified service personnel only. Dismantling
the headset yourself will invalidate the guarantee.

Warranty

Thank you for selecting a beyerdynamic product.
beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG provides a two year warranty to the original
purchaser from the date of purchase. Please keep your sales receipt and/or
invoice. Without this proof of purchase repairs will be chargeable.
The warranty extends to cover against defects in both materials and workman­ship but excludes faults occurring due to; operating errors, improper operation,
electric and mechanical damage, as well as repairs carried out by an
unauthorised service centre.
Excluded from the warranty claim are batteries and rechargeable batteries (in­cluded in the delivery) as well as parts that are subject to natural wear and tear
during usage such as connecting cables, ear cushions, headband pads etc.
This warranty is valid in any country in which beyerdynamic is represented by
an authorised distributor. The provisions of this warranty do not exclude your
rights under local consumer law.

Disposal

This symbol on the product, in the instructions or on the packaging
means that your electrical and electronic equipment should be
disposed at the end of its life separately from your household waste.
There are separate collection systems for recycling in the EU. For
more information, please contact the local authority or your retailer
where you purchased the product.

Sicherheitshinweise

Vorsicht: Wenn Sie den Kopfhörer anschließen, achten Sie darauf, dass die

Verletzungsgefahr!

Bei kabelgebundenen Kopfhörern sollten Sie heftige Bewegungen vermeiden.
Sie könnten sich ernsthaft verletzen, insbesondere, wenn Sie Piercings, Ohr­ringe, Brille usw. tragen, an denen das Kabel sich verfangen kann.

Warnhinweis – Mikrofon

Bitte beachten Sie, dass das Mikrofon nicht an Mikrofoneingänge mit Phantom­speisung (12 - 48 V) angeschlossen werden darf, da dies zur Zerstörung des
Mikrofons führt.

Lautstärke auf Minimum eingestellt ist. Regeln Sie die Lautstärke
erst nach Aufsetzen des Kopfhörers.
Wir möchten Sie darauf hinweisen, dass zu hohe Lautstärken und zu
lange Hörzeiten das Gehör schädigen können. Hörschäden stellen
immer eine irreversible Beeinträchtigung des Hörvermögens dar.
Achten Sie stets auf eine angemessene Lautstärke. Als Faustformel
gilt: je höher die Lautstärke, desto kürzer die Hörzeit. Dies zeigt
auch ein Beispiel aus dem Arbeitsleben: Gemäß der
Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Vorschrift für Sicherheit und Gesund­heit bei der Arbeit BGV B3 darf die Lärmbelastung z.B. am Arbeits­platz 85 dB (Zimmerlautstärke) nicht überschreiten bei einer
maximal zulässigen Hörzeit von 8 Stunden. Wird die Lautstärke
jeweils um 3 dB erhöht, halbiert sich die zulässige Hörzeit, d.h. bei
88 dB beträgt die Hörzeit 4 Stunden, bei 91 dB 2 Stunden usw.

Anwendungen

Das MMX 300 ist das ideale Headset für alle Gaming- und Multimedia-Anwen­dungen sowie Internettelefonie (Voice over IP). Die Technik des MMX 300 basiert
auf dem bewährten, Hi-Fi-tauglichen Pilotenheadset HS 400. Das lärmkompen­sierende Mikrofon mit seinem kristallklaren Sound sorgt für eine deutliche und
präzise Sprachübertragung auch in geräuschintensiven Umgebungen. Die
geschlossene Bauweise garantiert einen absolut ungestörten Spielspaß und
Soundgenuss mit höchstem Tragekomfort durch weiche, auswechselbare Ohr­und Kopfpolster.
Dank Kabelfernbedienung und mitgeliefertem Adapterkabel ist das MMX 300
Headset für Einsatz am PC genauso geeignet wie für das Gaming am Notebook
und Konsole, welche über eine 3,5 mm Kombibuchse verfügen.

Inbetriebnahme Headset

Setzen Sie das Headset auf den Kopf. Das Mikrofon ist dabei auf der linken Seite.
Positionieren Sie das Mikro fon mittig vor dem Mund. Zur Vermeidung von Popp­ ge räuschen sollten Sie das Mikro fon nur mit Poppschutz verwenden.

Kopfbügel

Um den Tragekomfort zu optimieren, können Sie den Kopfbügel des Headsets
an Ihren Kopf anpassen.
Wenn der Kopfbügel über die Kopfmitte verläuft, sollte der Bügel so eingestellt
sein, dass

• beide Ohren komplett umschlossen sind

• ein leichter Druck um die Ohren zu spüren ist

• beide Seiten des Bügels gleich verlängert sind

Mikrofon

• Drehen Sie am festen Mikrofonarm­halter (niemals am Schwanenhals!)
das Mikrofon in die von Ihnen ge­wünschte Position.

• Der Poppschutz soll das Mikrofon komplett umschließen.

• Biegen Sie den flexiblen Schwanenhals so, dass das Mikrofon etwa zwei
Zentimeter mittig vor Ihrem Mund platziert ist.
Wichtig: Zur Vermeidung von Überdehnungen und frühzeitigem Verschleiß
darf der Schwanenhals nur max. 90 Grad gebogen werden.

Hinweis:

Eine häufige Fehlerquelle ist, dass der 5-polige Klinkenstecker nicht korrekt
am Headset angeschlossen wird. Sollte das Headset nicht funktionieren, prüfen
Sie daher bitte zunächst, ob das Kabel am Kopfhörergehäuse des MMX 300
komplett eingesteckt ist. Siehe Abb. 1.

An dem 5-poligen Klinkenstecker des Anschlusskabels befindet sich ein Verrie­gelungsschutz, der einrasten muss. Bei einer Fehlfunktion ziehen Sie einfach
den Stecker noch einmal heraus und drücken ihn mit einer leichten Drehbewe­gung fest in die Buchse, damit alle 5 Pole des Steckers Kontakt haben. Siehe

Mute-Schalter

Lautstärke­regler

• Die integrierte Kabelfernbedienung verfügt über einen Mute-Schalter zum
Stummschalten des Mikrofons, einen Lautstärkeregler sowie einer Taste zur
Annahme von Anrufen, Mediensteuerung und temporärer Stummschaltung.

• Stummschaltung deaktiviert:
Mute-Schalter nach oben schieben (rote Kennzeichnung nicht sichtbar).

• Stummschaltung aktiviert:
Mute-Schalter nach unten schieben (rote Kennzeichnung sichtbar).

Pflege

• Aus hygienischen Gründen sollten Sie die Ohrpolster und den Kopfbügel ge­legentlich mit einem weichen feuchten Tuch reinigen. Achten Sie darauf, dass
kein Wasser in die Wandler läuft.

• Den Poppschutz des Mikrofons können Sie abnehmen und unter fließendem
Wasser reinigen. Bei Bedarf können Sie ein mildes Reinigungsmittel (z.B. Ge­schirrspülmittel) verwenden. Der Poppschutz muss ganz trocken sein, bevor
Sie ihn wieder auf das Mikrofon setzen.

Kopfpolster wechseln

1. Öffnen Sie den Klettverschluss und ziehen Sie das Polster vom Kopfbügel.
Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie das Kabel nicht beschädigen.

2. Legen Sie das neue, geöffnete Kopfpolster an der Unterseite des Kopfbügels
an. Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie das Kabel in die Falte des Polsters an der
Außenkante des Bügels einlegen. Tipp: Spreizen Sie hierfür den Hörer z.B.
über beide Knie.

3. Schließen Sie zuerst den mittleren Klettverschluss und dann die beiden
äußeren Klettverschlüsse.

Wechsel der Ohrpolster

• Da Ohrpolster einem natürlichen Ver­schleiß unterliegen, wird es von Zeit zu
Zeit notwendig sie auszutauschen. Dies
können Sie leicht selbst machen.

• Zum Wechsel des Ohrpolsters ziehen Sie
das alte von der Hörerkappe. Das neue
Ohrpolster lässt sich am besten aufziehen,
wenn Sie es vorher leicht erwärmt haben.

• Müssen andere Komponenten ausge­tauscht werden, wenden Sie sich bitte an
Ihren beyerdynamic-Händler.

Service

Im Servicefall wenden Sie sich bitte an autorisiertes Fachpersonal. Öffnen Sie
das Headset auf keinen Fall selbst, Sie könnten sonst alle Garantieansprüche
verlieren.

Garantie

Sie haben sich für ein beyerdynamic-Produkt entschieden. Vielen Dank für Ihr
Vertrauen.
beyerdynamic GmbH & Co. KG gewährt Ihnen auf fabrikneue Geräte zwei Jahre
Garantie ab Kaufdatum. Bitte bewahren Sie den Kaufbeleg auf. Ohne diesen
Nachweis können Reparaturen grundsätzlich nur kostenpflichtig ausgeführt
werden. Die Garantieleistung beinhaltet Material und Arbeitszeit zur Behebung
nachweislicher Material- und Fabrikationsfehler.
Der Garantieanspruch erlischt bei Bedienungsfehlern, unsachgemäßen Eingriffen,
elektrischer und mechanischer Beschädigung sowie bei unsachgemäßer
Reparatur durch nicht autorisierte Werkstätten.
Vom Garantieanspruch ausgenommen sind im Lieferumfang enthaltene
Batterien, Akkus sowie Teile, die beim Gebrauch einem natürlichen Verschleiß
unterliegen, wie Anschlusskabel, Ohrmuscheln, Kopfpolster etc.
Die Garantie kann in allen Ländern in Anspruch genommen werden, in denen
rechtliche Bestimmungen der Garantieleistung nicht entgegenstehen. In allen
Ländern gelten neben den gesetzlichen Bestimmungen die von beyerdynamic­Verkaufsstellen gewährten Garantieleistungen.

Entsorgung

Dieses Produkt darf am Ende seiner Lebensdauer nicht über den
normalen Haushaltsabfall entsorgt werden, sondern muss an einem
Sammelpunkt für das Recycling von elektrischen und elektronischen
Geräten abgegeben werden. Das Symbol auf dem Produkt, der Ge­brauchsanweisung oder der Verpackung weist darauf hin.

Consignes de sécurité

Prudence : Lorsque vous branchez le casque audio, veillez à ce que le volume

de8heures. Si le volume sonore est augmenté respectivement de 3
dB, la durée d’écoute est réduite de moitié, c’est-à-dire la durée
d'écoute est de 4 heures à un volume sonore de 88 dB et de 2 heures
à un volume sonore de 91 dB, etc.

cristallin garantit une transmission vocale nette et précise même dans des environne­ments bruyants. La construction fermée garantit une immersion totale dans vos jeux
sans bruit gênant, en profitant d’un son exceptionnel et d’un confort maximum grâce
aux coussinets et au bandeau de l’arceau serre-tête doux et interchangeables.
La télécommande sur le câble et le câble d’adaptateur également fourni permettent d’utiliser
le casque-micro MMX 300 branché aussi bien sur l’ordinateur personnel que, pour le gaming,
sur l’ordinateur portable ou la console de jeux, équipés d’une prise femelle combinée de 3,5 mm.

Mise en service du casque-micro

Posez le casque-micro sur la tête. Le microphone se trouve alors du côté gauche.
Positionnez le microphone au centre de la bouche. Utilisez uniquement le micro­phone recouvert d’une bonnette pour éviter les « pops ».

Arceau serre-tête

Pour optimiser le port du casque-micro, vous pouvez ajuster l’arceau serre-tête
à votre tête.
Lorsque l’arceau serre-tête passe au milieu de la tête, il faudrait l’ajuster de
manière à ce que

• les deux oreilles soient entièrement recouvertes,

• vous ressentiez une légère pression autour des oreilles et

• les deux côtés du bandeau soient rallongés de la même longueur.

Microphone

• Tournez-le au niveau de support fixe
du bras du microphone (jamais au
niveau du col de cygne !) pour le
mettre à la position souhaitée.

• La bonnette « anti-pop » doit recouvrir entièrement le microphone.

• Courbez le col de cygne flexible de manière à ce que le microphone soit placé
à env. deux centimètres au centre de votre bouche.
Important : Pour éviter les allongements excessifs et une usure précoce, le
col de cygne ne doit être courbé qu’à maximum 90 degrés.
