Anwendungen

Das MCE 82 ist ein universell einsetzbares Stereomikrofon für

X-Y-Aufnahmen. Es eignet sich für allgemeine Stereoaufnahmen bei
Homerecording, ENG/EFP, Außenreportage, Film- und Videoton
sowie Interviews. Es besitzt zwei Kondensatorkapseln mit
Nieren

charakteristik, welche unter einem Versatzwinkel von ± 45°

bezüglich

der Mikrofonachse angebracht sind. Dies ermöglicht einen
breiten Aufnahmebereich und eine gute räumliche Abbildung des
Klang

körpers. Rückwärtig eintreffender Störschall wird nicht aufge-

nommen.

Das MCE 82 hat einen weiten linearen Übertragungsbe­reich zur neutralen Aufnahme mit höchster Klangqualität.
Das kompakte und robuste Metallgehäuse macht das MCE 82 zum
idealen Mikrofon für den mobilen Einsatz. Eine elastische Lagerung
der Kondensatorkapseln unterdrückt wirkungsvoll Handhabungs­und Kabelgeräusche.

Inbetriebnahme

1. Batteriebetrieb

Das MCE 82 kann aus einer 1,5 V-Batterie (Typ Mignon

AA/LR6) gespeist werden. Schrauben Sie den unteren Teil des
Mikrofonschafts ab und legen Sie die Batterie polungsrichtig ein.

Schalter:
Position „OFF“: Batteriespeisung ist abgeschaltet.
Position „B.C.“: Batteriezustand wird kontrolliert. Bei voller
(Battery Check) Batterie muss die rote LED aufleuchten.

ACHTUNG: Betreiben Sie das Mikrofon nicht in

dieser Schalterstellung, da sonst die Batterie­kapazität schnell erschöpft wird.

Position „ON“:

Batteriespeisung ist eingeschaltet, das Mikrofon
ist betriebsbereit.

2. Phantomspeisung

Das MCE 82 kann mit jeder Phantomspeisung von 12-48 V

betrieben werden. Achten Sie darauf, dass an beiden Kanälen
Phantomspeisung anliegt. Die Stellung des Batterieschalters hat auf
die Funktion keinen Einfluss, er sollte jedoch in Position „OFF“ ste­hen.

Frequenzgangschalter

Der Frequenzgangschalter dient zur Wahl des Übertragungsbe­reiches.

Position „LIN“: linearer Frequenzgang
Position „LO“: Tiefenfilter schneidet Wind- und Rumpelge-

räusche unterhalb 100 Hz ab.

Anschluss

Das MCE 82 besitzt einen 5-poligen XLR-Stecker. Ein

Adapterkabel auf 2 mal XLR-Stecker 3-polig ist im Lieferumfang ent­halten. Für den Anschluss an Geräte mit 3,5 mm Stereoklinken-

eingang (z.B. MD- oder DAT-Recorder) ist das Kabel MVK 82 K 3
Stereo als optionales Zubehör erhältlich.

Aufstellung

Stellen Sie das MCE 82 so auf, dass es mit der Mikrofonlängs-

achse auf die Mitte des Klangkörpers zeigt. Der Korbbügel markiert
dabei die Trennebene zwischen linker und rechter Aufnahmeseite.
Der nutzbare Öffnungswinkel für eine eindeutige Trennung zwi­schen den beiden Kanälen beträgt etwa 180°. Die Breite der
Stereobasis lässt sich über den Aufnahmeabstand variieren: ein klei­ner Abstand bewirkt eine breite Abbildung und umgekehrt.
Bei Interviews wird das MCE 82 so gehalten, dass der Korbbügel
quer zwischen den beiden Interviewpartnern ist. Das Mikrofon zeigt
dabei nach oben und sollte sich etwa auf Brusthöhe befinden. Auf
diese Weise ergibt sich eine klare Kanaltrennung zwischen den bei­den Personen.

Pflege

Bei Bedarf reinigen Sie das MCE 82 mit einem weichen feuch-

ten Tuch. Wenn notwendig, können Sie ein mildes Reinigungsmittel
(z.B. Geschirrspülmittel) verwenden, auf keinen Fall lösemittel­haltige Reiniger. Achten Sie darauf, dass in den Mikrofonwandler
kein Wasser läuft.

Service

Im Servicefall wenden Sie sich bitte an autorisiertes Fach-

personal. Öffnen Sie das Mikrofon auf keinen Fall selbst, Sie könn­ten sonst alle Garantieansprüche verlieren.

information before setting up the equipment.

Applications

The MCE 82 is a universal stereo microphone for X-Y-recor-

ding. It is suitable for stereo recording in ENG/EFP applications,
home recording, reporting, film, video and interviewing.
The MCE 82 has two condenser capsules with cardioid polar patterns
which are mounted at an angle of ± 45° of the microphone axis. This
allows a wide recording range and an accurate reproduction of the
sound source.
The MCE 82 has a flat linear frequency response for a natural
reproduction with the highest sound quality.
The compact and rugged metal housing makes the MCE 82 an ideal
microphone for mobile applications. The elasticated suspension of
the condenser capsules suppresses handling and cable noise.

Operation

1. Battery powering

The MCE 82 can be powered by a 1.5 V battery (Mignon

AA/LR6). When inserting a battery unscrew the lower part of the
microphone shaft and observe the polarity marks.

Switch:
Position “OFF”: Battery power is switched off.
Position “B.C.” Battery condition is checked. The red LED is
(Battery Check):

illuminated when the battery has full capacity.
CAUTION: Do not operate the microphone in
this position, as the battery capacity will
rapidly become exhausted.

Position “ON”: Battery power is switched on; the microphone

is ready for operation.

2. Phantom powering

The MCE 82 can be operated by any phantom supply between

12 and 48 V. Make sure that both channels are powered with phantom
supply. Make sure that the battery switch is switched to “OFF”.

Frequency response switch

The frequency response switch allows you to tailor the frequency
response.

Position “LIN”: Linear frequency response
Position “LO”: Bass filter eliminates wind noise and rumble

below 100 Hz.

Connection

The MCE 82 has a 5-pin XLR-plug. Delivery includes an adapter

cable to two 3-pin XLR-plugs. Use the MVK 82 K 3 stereo cable
(optional accessory) to connect the microphone to units with mini
stereo jack input (e.g. MD or DAT recorder).

Setting up

Set up the MCE 82 so that the longitudinal axis of the micro-

phone points to the centre of the sound source. The basket bow
marks the divide between left and right recording sides. The usable
open angle for clear separation between the two channels is
approximately 180°. The width of the stereo base can be adjusted
via the recording distance i.e. a small distance results in a broad
reproduction and vice versa.
If used for interviews the microphone is held so that the basket bow
is across the two interview partners. The microphone points
upwards and should be at chest height. In this way there is clear
channel separation between each person.

Maintenance

Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning the MCE 82 microphone.

If necessary, you can use a gentle cleansing agent (such as washing­up liquid). Make sure not to allow any water to enter the transducer
element and never use any solvent cleansers.

Service

Servicing must be carried out by qualified service personnel

only. Dismantling the microphone yourself will invalidate the
guarantee.

Applications

Le MCE 82 est un microphone stéréophonique à l’utilisation

universelle et se prête aux enregistrements X-Y. Il permet la prise de
son en stéréo lors de l’enregistrement personnel («homerecording»),
ENG/EFP, des reportages, films, vidéos et interviews. Le MCE 82
dispose de deux capsules condensateur avec directivité cardioïde,
montées sous un angle de déplacement de ± 45° par rapport à l’axe
du microphone, ce qui permet la réalisation

d’une large étendue

d’enregistrement et d’une bonne représentation

acoustique de la
source sonore. Le micro est insensible aux informations acoustiques
venant de l’arrière.
Pour garantir la prise de son neutre et une qualité sonore supérieu­re, le MCE 82 offre une large bande passante linéaire.
Grâce à son boîtier en métal robuste et compact, le MCE 82 est le
microphone idéal pour l’utilisation mobile. La suspension élastique
des capsules supprime effectivement tout bruit produit par la mani­pulation du micro ou de son câble.

Mise en marche

1. Alimentation avec une pile

Le MCE 82 s’alimente d’une pile 1,5 V (type Mignon AA/LR6).

Dévissez la partie inférieure du corps, et introduisez la pile en obs­ervant la polarité.

Commutateur:
Position «OFF»: L’alimentation par pile est mise hors circuit.
Position «B.C.» Sert à contrôler l’état de la pile: la diode LED
(Battery Check): rouge s’allume indiquant la tension suffisante

de la pile.
ATTENTION: Ne jamais utiliser le microphone
avec le commutateur mis sur cette position;
sinon, vous risquerez d’épuiser la capacité de pile.

Position «ON»: L’alimentation par pile est mise en circuit et le

microphone est prêt à fonctionner.

2. Alimentation fantôme

Le MCE 82 peut être alimenté par une alimentation fantôme

de 12-48 V. Veillez à ce que l’alimentation fantôme soit présente dans
les deux canaux. Le commutateur de pile doit être sur position «OFF».

Sélecteur de bande passante

Ce sélecteur sert à sélectionner la bande passante du microphone.

Position «LIN»: Bande passante linéaire
Position «LO»: Un filtre passe-haut élimine tout bruit de vent

ou de manipulation au-dessous de 100 Hz.

Branchements

Le MCE 82 est muni d’une fiche XLR à 5 broches. Un câble

adaptateur ( 2 fiches XLR 3 broches ) est fourni avec le microphone.
Pour le raccordement à un appareil avec une entrée mini-jack 3,5 mm
( par exemple DAT ou MD ) il faut prévoir en option le câble stéréo
MVK 82 K 3.

Positionnement

Montez le MCE 82 de façon à ce que l’axe du microphone s’o-

riente sur le centre de la source sonore. L’archet de la grille de pro­tection marque la ligne de séparation entre le côté gauche et
droit d’enregistrement. L’angle d’ouverture utile pour une séparation
claire entre les deux canaux est d’environ 180°. La largeur de la base
stéréo peut être adjustée par la variation de la distance entre micro
est source sonore (distance réduite entraîne un image stéréo plus
large, et vice versa).
Lors des interviews, le MCE 82 doit être tenu de façon à ce que l’ar­chet de la grille de protection se situe horizontalement entre les
interlocuteurs. Le micro s’oriente vers le haut et doit être placé envi­ron à l’hauteur d’appui. De cette façon il est possible de réaliser une
séparation claire de canal entre les deux personnes.

Entretien

Si nécessaire, veuillez nettoyer le MCE 82 avec un tissu doux

humidifié. Vous pouvez ajouter un produit vaiselle; n’utilisez jamais
des détergents; éviter toute pénétration de l’eau dans le transduc­teur du microphone.

Service après-vente

En cas de dommage, veuillez vous adresser au service après-

vente de beyerdynamic. N’ouvriez pas le microphone, vous risqueriez
sinon de perdre vos droits de garantie.
