The Bendix Duraflo-596 Compressor has two features that we recommend be considered carefully when maintenance is performed. The DF-596 is designed to be naturally aspirated, unlike many compressors that use turbosupplied air. Also, the DF-596 uses an Energy Saving System (ESS) unloader that requires a D-2 governor and an SV-1 synchro valve for correct operation. Improperly configured systems may result in damage to the compressor unloader. Damages caused by incorrect installation or nonnaturally aspirated applications are not covered under the warranty policy.

For ease of maintenance, Bendix provides a module for compressor-mount or remote-mount applications with the special D-2 governor and SV-1 that the DuraFlo-596 requires. If making individual repairs to the D-2 or SV-1, use only genuine Bendix parts.
