HOW TO USE
This compact, cordless, battery-operated beard and moustache trimmer offers greater precision and maneuverability than either scissors or razors. The small, angled blades allow the flexibility to trim small areas that might be difficult to reach with scissors.
BATTERY INSTALLATION
With thumb, press grooves on battery compartment on back of unit. Slide downward then lift to open. Insert two "AA" alkaline batteries into battery well with the terminals lined up as illustrated inside the well. Once batteries are in position, replace cover. If batteries are not correctly installed, trimmer will not operate. Always close battery cover before attempting to operate trimmer.
BEFORE USING: Beard and/or moustache should always be slightly damp before trimming.

A. Using a barber-style comb: Comb beard in an upward
motion; hold the hair ends in place using the comb. With the other hand, hold the trimmer with the switch away from face, and trim the hair ends in an upward motion (Fig. 4).
2. Before beginning, use the hair and beard trimmer to cut beard outline and accentuate beard line. Begin at the chin and work back toward jawline and ears. Trim outer line of beard by holding the trimmer in a horizontal position with On/Off switch away from face. Remove all stray hair from the beard line by shaving normally (Fig. 2).

1. Comb beard using a barber-style comb. Comb in the direction of beard growth (Fig. 1).
To accentuate beard line, hold the trimmer with the On/Off switch toward the face. Using a downward motion, work from chin back toward the ears, trimming the area right under beard line. This downward motion will define beard line (Fig. 3).
3. To thin and taper beard, there are three options: using the cordless trimmer with the aid of a barber-style comb, the trimmer attachment or the cordless trimmer by itself.
FIG. 3
4. To trim edge of moustache around upper lip, hold the trimmer with the switch toward the face. Force upper lip down, causing a taut line between upper lip and the bottom of moustache. Trim moustache around upper lip in downward strokes (Fig. 9).
3. To use the 5-position trimmer attachment with the trimmer,
simply slide the attachment over the blades. Set attachment at desired level, and comb through moustache with smooth, overlapping strokes (Fig. 8).
1.Comb through moustache using the fine-toothed end of a barber-style or moustache comb.
2.Use a comb to position the whiskers of your moustache. With the free hand, hold the trimmer with the switch facing outward, and trim moustache in an upward motion (Fig. 7).
B. Slide the trimmer attachment over the blades, and push
down to position desired. With the switch toward the face, start at each sideburn and trim toward the chin in smooth, overlapping strokes, as if combing the beard (Fig. 5).
C. Using the hair and beard trimmer itself: Hold the trimmer
with the switch toward the face. With smooth strokes, simply graze the top layer of hair in a downward motion. Be certain to use a VERY LIGHT TOUCH to avoid cutting “holes” in the beard or taking off more hair than necessary (Fig. 6).
Once you have completed trimming the beard, comb through the beard to comb out any remaining trimmed hair.

5. To taper and trim the length of moustache, be sure to use a VERY, VERY LIGHT TOUCH in a downward motion. REMEMBER: applying too much pressure when trimming can cut “holes” in moustache or remove more hair than desired.
NOTE: Be sure On/Off switch is in the Off position before attaching or removing the 5-position trimmer attachment.
To use trimmer with the 5-position attachment, simply slide attachment over trimmer blades and snap it into position. (Check to see that it is firmly attached.) There are five settings indicated on the guide track; the first setting (1) will give the shortest trim length. However, to gauge its operation accurately, it is advisable to begin trimming with the attachment positioned at the setting that is farthest away from the blade (5).
Trim with the grain, using smooth, overlapping strokes. If trimming against the grain, length of trim will be much shorter. If a shorter trim is desired, adjust the trimmer attachment by pushing it closer to the blades. To remove attachment, switch trimmer off. Place thumb over guide track adjustment switch, and pull attachment off.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. It is important to clean the trimmer regularly. After each use, brush away loose hair with the cleaning brush. The cleaning brush may also be used to remove any loose hair on the attachment.
2. The trimmer blades have precisely hardened, ground and lapped cutting teeth. Blades should be handled carefully and never bumped or used to cut dirty or abrasive material.
3. Blades require occasional lubrication (oil provided).
