Triple Slow Cooker Base
Before Using for the First Time
1. Carefully unpack the Triple Slow Cooker and remove all packaging materials. Included in the box are the 3 lid rests. Be sure to remove from the box while unpacking the unit.
2. Place your Triple Slow Cooker on a level surface such as a countertop or table. Be sure the sides and back of the Triple Slow Cooker are at least 4 inches away from any walls, cabinets, or objects on the counter or table.
3. Wipe the Triple Slow Cooker base with a clean, damp cloth or sponge, then dry with another cloth. This will remove any dust that may have settled during packaging.
4. Insert the 3 lid rests into the insertion holes (see Figure 1). Check to make sure lid rests are securely attached.
5. It is necessary to operate the Triple Slow Cooker one time before placing food in the cooking pots. Pour 4 cups of water into each of the cooking pots. Then place each cooking pot inside theTripleSlow Cooker base. Cover each cooking pot with a glass lid.
6. Plug the Triple Slow Cooker into a 120V AC outlet.
7. Turn each of the OFF/LOW/HIGH/WARM dials to HIGH and allow to heat for approximately 30minutes. Youwill notice a slight odor; this is normal and should quickly disappear.
8. Turn each of the 3 OFF/LOW/HIGH/WARM dials to the OFF position and unplug the Triple Slow Cooker. Allow to cool for at least 20 minutes.
9. Wearing oven mitts, remove each of the 3 lids, then grasp each of the 3 cooking pots by the handles and carefully lift and remove from the base; pour the water out of the cooking pots.
10. Wash all 3 removable cooking pots and lids in the dishwasher or in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
11. Reinsert the 3 removable cooking pots with lids into the Triple Slow Cooker base to store.
Operating Instructions
NOTE: The 3 slow cooking stations work independently of one another. 1, 2 or 3 slow cookers may be used at any given time.
1. Prepare recipe(s) according to instructions.
2. Place 1 to 3 cooking pot(s) into the base.
3. Add food to the cooking pot(s) and cover with glass lid(s). IMPORTANT: DO NOT FILL THE COOKING POT(S) MORE THAN 3/4 FULL WITH FOOD. NOTE: When cooking a meat and vegetable combination, place the vegetables in the bottom of the
cooking pot rst. Then add the meat and other ingredients.
4. To ensure the efcient build up of heat, do not lift the lid(s) during the rst 2 hours of cook time. Frequent lifting of the lid(s) during cooking delays the cook time.
5. Plug cord into a 120V AC outlet.
6. Turn OFF/LOW/HIGH/WARM dial to select temperature setting: LOW or HIGH.
7. Cook according to recipe instructions.
8. Depending on the food served, when the cooking time is complete, turn the OFF/LOW/HIGH/WARM dial(s) to the LOW or WARM position and serve.
9. Using oven mitts, carefully remove the glass lid(s) by grasping the lid knob(s) and lifting the lid slightly away from you. This will allow the steam to escape before removing the lid. Place the lids on the lid rests.
10. Allow a few seconds for all steam to escape.
11. When serving is nished, turn all 3 of the OFF/LOW/HIGH/WARM dial(s) to the OFF position, and unplug the Triple Slow Cooker.
12. Allow all 3 cooking pots to cool completely before cleaning, see CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS.
CAUTION: The lled Triple Slow Cooker can be very heavy. To avoid injury to persons or damage to the
appliance, always use the recessed side carry handles to transport the Triple Slow Cooker.
13. When cooking is done, carefully remove each of the glass lid(s) by grasping the lid knob(s). Using the cooking pot handles, remove each cooking pot. Clean and prepare the Triple Slow Cooker base for storing.
Browning, Searing and Roasting
1. Spice Rubs: For a avorful, seared crust, generously season meat or poultry with your favorite spice rub before searing.
2. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of vegetable or peanut oil to the copper metal pot. (Do not use butter or olive oil as they tend to burn at high temperatures.)
NOTE: The amount of additional oil needed depends on the fattiness in the meat.
3. Remove any lid and its copper metal pot from the slow cooker base, and place it directly on the stovetop.
4. Turn burner heat to HIGH.
5. When the oil is shimmering hot, add meats to the copper metal pot, fat-side down; place poultry pieces skin-side down. Sear meat for a few minutes until brown, then turn food until all surfaces are browned.
WARNING: Use caution while searing. Use protective oven mitts. Keep hands and face away from the
copper metal pot’s opening. Avoid contact with hot oil as it may sputter and spit.
6. After all food is browned, it may be necessary to de-fat the cooking liquid. Use a slice of bread, a spoon, or a straining spoon to skim off excess fat prior to slow cooking.
7. If a spice rub is not needed, dredging meat in our before browning thickens the cooking liquid into a wonderful sauce.
8. Par roasting meats and vegetables can ensure avorful slow cooked results. Place foods to be roasted into any copper metal pot. Place uncovered pot(s) into a 425ºF preheated oven. Turn foods as needed until browned and avorful.
For best results, always add recipe cooking liquid to the copper metal pot rst. To ensure a avorful
cooking liquid and to prevent future burning, use a plastic or wood spoon to loosen browned avorful bits and deglaze the copper metal pot.
WARNING: To avoid scratching the copper metal pot coating, never use sharp utensils when stirring
foods in the copper metal pot.

Recipes
Preparing for Buffet Service
1. If food to be served has been previously prepared and then refrigerated, warm food uncovered in its copper metal pot over medium heat on the stovetop. Add liquid and stir as needed.
2. When temperature of the food is suitable for serving, add food to the cooking pots, replace cooking pots into the Triple Slow Cooker base.
3. Add ser ving spoons and glass lids to each cooking pot. Then turn each OFF/LOW/HIGH/WARM dial(s) to WARM.
NOTE: The WARM setting is not suitable for reheating foods. WARM is ONLY for keeping already
cooked food warm. DO NOT cook on the WARM setting.
Hints for Slow Cooking
• After cooking and serving, these versatile copper metal pots can be used to store food in the refrigerator, then reheat on a stovetop, in any oven, or in the base unit.
• High fat meats can result in dishes with less avor. Pre-cooking or browning will help reduce the amount of fat and help to preserve the color. The higher the fat content, the less liquid needed. If cooking meat with a high fat content, use thick onion slices or large cut vegetables under it so that the meat will not sit and cook in the fat.
• Meats will not brown during the slow cooking process. If you desire browning, refer to BROWNING, SEARING AND ROASTING section of this instruction manual.
NOTE: Dredging meat in our before browning thickens the cooking liquid for a wonderful sauce. IMPORTANT: Skim fat and season before serving. If necessary, use a slice of bread, a spoon, or a
straining spoon to skim of f excess fat from top of foods before ser ving.
• Whole herbs and spices avor better in slow cooking than crushed or ground.
• If a recipe results in too much liquid at the end of the cooking time, remove the glass lid and place copper metal cooking pot directly on the stovetop. Turn burner heat to medium-high and cook until liquid is reduced. Season to taste after the reduction.
