Welcome to BEHRINGER
Thank you fo r showing your cond ence in us by purchasin g the BEHRINGER MICROMON MA400, a mo nitor headphone am plier that is both  exible and compac t. On your headphones, you can simultaneously listen to two audio signals:
• one from a m icrophone
• one from a m ixer or a Hi-Fi unit
You can even emph asize one signal over th e other. Hear yourself s ing, or concentrate o n the main audio p rogram. Both are p ossible.
Please read the safety instructions that appear at the end of this document.

High volu mes can damage yo ur hearing and yo ur headphone s. Before you
use the MA 400, turn the MIC LEVE L and MON LEVEL contr ols to 0 (zero).
(1) 12 V connector:
To connect th e power supply unit to t he MA400, use the 12 V conne ctor. Connecti ng the power su pply unit to the mains au tomatically sw itches the MA40 0 on. To disconne ct the unit fro m the mains, pull out th e main cord plug.
(2) ON LED:
As soon as t he unit is connec ted to the mains, the ON LE D is illuminated.
(3) MIC INPUT connector:
To send a microp hone signal to the MA4 00, you need an audio c able that include s XLR connectors.
Plug:
• one XLR connector into the MIC INPUT connector
• the other XLR connector into the microphone
(4) MIC THRU connector:
If you want to ro ute the micropho ne signal from the MA 400 to a mixer, you need an audio cab le that includes XLR c onnectors.
Plug:
• one XLR connector into the MIC THRU connector
• the other XL R connector into a m ic input on the mixer
(5) GND LIFT button:
When you conn ect a mixer to the MA 400, keep this but ton pushed out to mai ntain a ground connection to the mixer.
This conne ction prevent s electrost atic charges fr om interferin g with your audiosignals.
However, if grou nd-loop hum inter feres with your a udio signals, you can b reak the groun d connection be tween the MA40 0 and the mixer. To do this, push in t he GNDLIFT bu tton.
(6) MONITOR INPUT connector:
To send a signal f rom a mixer or Hi-Fi uni t to the MA400, you ne ed an audio cable tha t include s ¼" connec tors (unbalanced/ste reo TRS or unbalanc ed/mono TS).
Plug:
• one ¼" connector into the MONITOR INPUT connector
• the other ¼" conne ctor into the AUX SEND of a m ixer or, alternatively t he output
of a Hi-Fi un it
(7) ¼" PHONES connector, (8) ⁄" PHONES connector: To connect headphones to the
MA400, us e the ¼" or, alternatively the  ⁄" PHONES connec tor.
Do not simultaneously use both PHONES connectors.
(9) MONO / STEREO switch:
To specif y the type of mixer o r Hi-Fi signal the MA4 00 receives, us e this switch. If you plugged:
• a TS connec tor into the MONITOR IN PUT, the MA40 0 receives a mono sig nal. Push
this swi tch to MONO.
• a TRS conne ctor into the MONITO R INPUT, the MA400 recei ves a stereo signal.
Push this sw itch to STEREO.
(10) MIC LEVEL control:
To adjust the vol ume of the micropho ne signal, slowly tur n this control towar d 0 (minimum volume) or, alternatively 10 (maximum volume).
(11) MON LEVEL control:
To adjust the vol ume of the mixer or Hi- Fi signal, slowly tur n this control towar d 0 (minimum volume) or, alternatively 10 (maximum volume).
SERIAL NUMBER: To reg ister your unit, us e the serial number t hat is located on the b ottom of the MA4 00.
