INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing our BébéSounds
®
Easy-to-Hold Sound Monitor. With this monitor
you will be able to hear your child while you move freely around the house. It features superior sound clarity and range with 49 MHz technology, and the 2 channels help you maximize reception and mini- mize interference.
The transmitter’s built in microphone picks up your baby’s sounds and sends them to the portable receiver. The receiver also features “Sound Lights” on an LED sound bar so you can “see” your baby’s sounds in case background noise prevents you from hearing your baby. Choose the channel that provides the best reception.
Both units can be operated on either AC or battery power so you can easily move around the house while your baby is sleeping. You also have the flexibility of easily moving the transmitter if your baby is outside the nursery.
Please read all the instructions carefully before operating this monitor. Please save the manual, including the important safety instructions, for future reference.
WARNING: This monitor is not intended to replace adult supervision of children.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Select either AC or battery power (see below).
2.
Turn both units on making sure they are set to the same channel. To change the channel,
slide the Channel/Power switch to either the A or B position on both units
(See Fig. 1).
3. Adjust the volume control on the Parents’ Unit.
4. Adjust the optional Voice Activation on the Nursery Unit (See Fig. 2). Activating this feature may avoid the transmission of some background sounds that don’t pertain to your baby. Adjust the sensitivity of the Voice Activation to your preference.
Using AC Power
1. Plug the AC adapter into the right side of each unit (See Fig. 3).
2. Plug the AC adapter into the outlet in your wall.
3. Use only the BébéSoundadapters included with the monitor. Do not use these adapters with any other equipment.
Using Battery Power
1. Using a very small Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew the cover of the battery compartment and slide down and off (See Fig. 4).
2. Insert one 9-Volt battery by snapping it to the black tab inside the compartment.
3. Replace the cover and tighten the screw.
4. Replace the batteries every 6 months or as needed.
Note: It is recommended that you keep batteries in your monitor at all times in case of a power outage.

PRODUCT CARE
Clean the exterior surface of the BébéSounds®Easy-to-Hold Sound Monitor with a soft dry cloth. Do not use sprays or liquids of any kind. Never immerse in water.
USING VOICE ACTIVATION
Voice Activation eliminates the background “hum” associ- ated with sound monitors when there is no significant
sound being transmitted from your baby’s room. It does this by automatically placing both the Nursery Unit (transmitter) and the Parents’ Unit (receiver) into a “standby” mode. When sig- nificant sound is detected, the Voice Activation automatically returns both units to an “active” mode and immediately transmits your baby’s sounds to you.
You can determine how sensitive you want the Voice Activation feature to be. For example, if you want to hear the slightest sound in the nursery, adjust the sensitivity on the Voice Activation dial on the Nursery Unit to the maximum level (See Fig. 5). If you only want to hear when your baby cries, adjust the sensitivity to a lower level. You may have to adjust the sensitivity level a couple of times until you get the exact level you want.
Remember, when using the Voice Activation feature you may think the sound monitor is not working because the monitor is com- pletely quiet and you don’t hear a background “hum.” Don’t worry the monitor is in a “standby” mode and will immediately return to the “active” mode when your baby cries or makes sounds. If you want to hear this “hum,” deactivate the Voice Activation by switching it off on the Nursery Unit (See Fig. 6). The Voice Activation controls are only on the Nursery Unit, not on the Parents’ Unit.
