Sensitive Eyes®Plus

Saline Solution

CONTENTS: Sensitive Eyes Plus Saline Solution is a sterile, isotonic, buffered
solution that contains boric acid, sodium borate, potassium chloride, sodium
chloride, preserved with polyaminopropyl biguanide (0.00003%) and edetate
disodium (0.025%).

ACTIONS: Sensitive Eyes Plus Saline Solution removes loosened debris and
traces of daily cleaner when used as a rinse after cleaning.Also removes existing
calcium deposits and prevents new deposits from accumulating when used with
heat disinfection.The saline solution may also be used in the lens carrying case
during heat (thermal) disinfection. It can be used as a diluent for enzyme tablets,
to store lenses, and as a final (pre-inserting) rinse after chemical (not heat) and
hydrogen peroxide disinfection.

I N D I C ATIONS (Uses): Sensitive Eyes P l u s Saline Solution is a steri l e,
preserved solution for rinsing after cleaning and before lens insertion with heat
(thermal), chemical (not heat) and hydrogen peroxide systems; heat disinfection;
dilution of enzyme tablets and storage of soft contact lenses as recommended by
your eye care practitioner.

CONTRAINDICATIONS (Reasons not to use): If you are allergic to any
ingredient in Sensitive Eyes Plus Saline Solution, do not use this product.

PRECAUTIONS:

• Never re-use this solution.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

• Store at room temperature.

• Use before the expiration date marked on the carton and bottle.

• Do not alternate between heat (thermal) and chemical (not heat) methods of

disinfection.

• After re-inserting your lenses, always empty your storage case, rinse with
Sensitive Eye s Plus Saline Solution, and allow to air dry.

WA R N I N G S : P ROBLEMS WITH CONTAC T LENSES AND LENS CARE
PRODUCTS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURYTOTHE EYE. It is essential

that you follow your eye care practitioner’s directions and all labeling instructions
for proper use and care of your lenses and lens care products, including the lens
case.

Eye problems, including corneal ulcers, can develop rapidly and lead to loss of
vision.

Daily wear lenses are not indicated for overnight wear and should not be worn
while sleeping. Clinical studies have shown the risk of serious adverse reactions
is increased when these lenses are worn overnight.

Extended wear lenses should be regularly removed for cleaning and disinfection
or for disposal and replacement on the schedule prescribed by your eye care
practitioner. Clinical studies have shown that there is an increased incidence of
serious adverse reactions in extended wear contact lens users as compared to
daily wear contact lens users. Studies have also shown that the risk of serious
adverse reactions increases the longer extended wear lenses are worn before
removal for cleaning and disinfection or for disposal and replacement.

Studies have also shown that smokers have a higher incidence of adverse
reactions.

If you experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, redness of
the eye, immediately remove your lenses and promptly contact your eye care
practitioner.

It is recommended that contact lens wearers see their eye care practitioner twice
each year or, if directed, more frequently.

To avoid contamination, do not touch tip of bottle to any surface. Replace cap
after using.

ADVERSE REACTIONS (Problems and what to do): The following problems
may occur: eyes sting, burn or itch (irritation), comfort is less than when lens was
first placed on the eye, feeling of something in the eye (foreign body, scratched
area), excessive watering (tearing) of the eye, unusual eye secretions, redness
of the eye, reduced sharpness of vision (poor visual acuity), blurred vision,
rainbows or halos around objects, sensitivity to light (photophobia), or dry eyes.

If you notice any of the above:

• I M M E D I AT E LY REMOVE YOUR LENSES.

• If the discomfort or problem stops, then look closely at the lens.

• If the lens is in any way damaged, DO NOT put the lens back on your eye.Place
the lens in the storage case and contact your eye care practitioner.

• If the lens has dirt, an eyelash, or other foreign body on it, or the problem stops
and the lens appears undamaged, thoroughly clean, rinse and disinfect the
lens, then reinsert it.

• If the problem continues, IMMEDIATELY remove the lens and consult your eye
care practitioner.

If any of the above symptoms occur, a serious condition such as infection,
corneal ulcer, neovascularization or iritis may be present. Seek immediate
professional identification of the problem and prompt treatment to avoid serious
eye damage.

GOOD LENS CARE PRACTICES:

•

Always wash and rinse your hands before you handle your lenses.

• Clean, rinse and disinfect your lenses each time you remove them.

• Always handle the same lens, the right or the left, first in order to avoid mix-ups.

• After use, always empty and rinse lens case with fresh rinsing solution and
allow to air dry.

DIRECTIONS:
Rinsing After Cleaning

• Clean your lenses with a daily cleaner such as Bausch & Lomb®Sensitive
Eyes Daily Cleaner or with ReNu®Multi-Purpose Solution as instructed by

your eye care practitioner.

•

After cleaning, rinse lenses thoroughly with Sensitive Eyes Plus Saline Solution
by holding the lens between the forefinger and thumb or placing it in the palm of
the hand. Direct a steady stream of saline onto the lens for 10 seconds.

Heat (thermal) Lens Disinfection

• Fill the chambers of your lens carrying case 2/3 full with fresh Sensitive Eyes
Plus Saline Solution.

• Place the cleaned lens into the correct chamber.

• Tightly close the cap of the chamber.

• Place the lens carrying case into the disinfecting unit and follow the operating
instructions for the unit.

• After disinfection, you may store your lenses in the unopened case until ready
to put on your eyes.

Emergency (Alternate) Method For Heat (thermal) Disinfection

If your heat disinfection unit is not available, place the tightly closed lens carrying
case which contains the lenses into a pan of already boiling water. Leave the
closed lens case in the pan of boiling water for at least ten minutes. (Above an
altitude of 7,000 feet, boil for at least 15 minutes.) Be careful not to allow the
water to boil away. Remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool for 30
minutes to complete the disinfection of the lenses.

NOTE: Use of heat disinfection unit should be resumed as soon as possible.
Chemical Disinfection (Including hydrogen peroxide systems)

• Clean, rinse and disinfect your lenses as directed by your eye care practitioner.

• Before inserting your lenses, rinse them thoroughly with Sensitive Eyes Plus
Saline Solution.

• Lenses that are chemically disinfected may absorb ingredients from the
disinfecting solution which may cause irritation to the eye. A 20 second rinse
may reduce the potential for irritation.

Enzyme (Weekly) Cleaning

• Clean and rinse lenses as directed by your eye care practitioner.

• Sensitive Eyes Plus Saline Solution may be used to dilute enzymatic cleaning
tablets such as Sensitive Eyes Enzymatic Cleaner, Bausch & Lomb ReNu
Thermal or Effervescent Enzymatic Contact Lens Cleaner.

available for purchase in 4 Fl.Oz. (118ml) and 12 Fl. Oz. (355ml) plastic bottles.
