BREAK-IN
Thefirst monthisthemostimportantinthelifeofyour vehicle. Properoperation duringthisbreak-inperiodwillbehelpfulfor assuringmaximumlifeandperformance ofyournewvehicle. Thefollowing guidelinesexplainproperbreak-inprocedures.
MaximumThrottleOpeningRecommendation Duringthefirst 10hoursof operation,Youshouldalwaysuselessthan1/2throttle opening.
VarytheEngineRotatingSpeed Varytheenginerotatingspeedduringthebreak-inperiod.Thisallowsthepartsto "load" andthen"unload" (allowingthepartstocool). Althoughit isessentialtoplace somestressontheenginecomponentsduringbreak-in,youmustbecarefulnotto loadthe enginetoo much.
AvoidConstantLowRotatingSpeed Operatingtheengineat constantlowrotatingspeed(lightload)cancausepartsto glazeandnotseal properly.Allowtheenginetoacceleratefreely withoutexceeding
themaximumthrottlelimit.
AllowtheEngineOilto CirculateBeforeRiding Allowafew minutesof idlingtimeafterwarmor coldenginestarting.Thisallowsthe lubricatingoiltoreachall criticalenginecomponents.
ObserveYourInitialandMostCriticalService Theinitialservice(break-inmaintenance)is the mostimportantservicethatyour
vehiclewillreceive.Observinga properbreak-inoperation,willhelpengine componentssealproperly.Maintenancerequiredas partoftheinitialserviceincludes properadjustments,tighteningof allbolts&nuts,andreplacementofdirtyoil. Timely performanceof thisservicewillhelpyougetthebestservicelifeandperformanceof theengine.

Beforeattemptingto starttheengine,makesureto

1. Turnthekeyswitchto the"ON" position.
2. Settheenginestopswitchto the"RUN"
position.
3. Ifengineis cold,set chokelevertothe up(on) position.
4. Applytherearbrakeleverandmakesurethat therearwheelsare in lockingcondition.
5. Presstheyellowstarterbutton"START"to start theengine.
6. Afterenginehaswarmedup,set choketodown (off)position.
