Upon opening the shipping container, visually inspect the product and applicable accessories for any physical damage such as scratches, loose or broken parts, or any other sign of damage that may have occurred during shipment.
NNOTE: If damage is found, request an inspection by the carrier’s agent within 48 hours of delivery and file a claim with the carrier. A claim for equipment damage in transit is the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
The procedures for installing Badger Meter turbo meters are essentially the same for all meter sizes. Any special instructions required for the installation and/or electrical connection of meter-mounted or free-standing accessory devices such as registers, pulse transmitters, valves and remote batch controllers are provided with those devices.
•The Badger Meter 2…6 in. industrial turbo meters are designed for operation in HORIZONTAL piping arrangements.
•If solid material is present in the liquid to be metered, a strainer may be required in the facility piping upstream of the meter. The 2 in., 3 in. and 4 in. meters require a strainer with 1/16 in. diameter holes and the 6 in. meter requires a strainer with 1/8 in. diameter holes.
•To permit periodic cleanout of the meter and to provide a convenient means of stopping fluid flow during maintenance, incorporate a flushing system into the facility piping arrangement.
