MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before you start with the installation, make sure you know the security code of your
headunit (if applicable).
2. Remove the headunit from the dashboard and disconnect the main wire.
3. Find a place for the A500DSP and connect the provided (or optionally available
car-speci c) wire to the amp.
2
4. For standalone powering mode please follow these steps: Run a 1.5 mm
power
wire from the (+) pole of the battery to the (BATT) terminal of the ampli er. Use a fuse
with the related value of the cross section of the power wire. The distance between
the B+ pole and the fuse holder must be 15 cm or less. Run the minus cable with the
same cross section from the (GND) terminal of the amp to the vehicle chassis ground.
Make sure that the contact surface is clean in order to get best conductance.
5. Connet the RCA cables and the ACC+/REM wire coming from the headunit to the
RCA inputs and ACC-In of the A500DSP.
6. Connect the wire to the headunit.
7. Install the headunit back in the dashboard.

2. Install A500DSP_V1.0.apk to your Android smart phone.
3. Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile and search “A500DSP”, then connect to it with paring
code 1234.
4. Open A500DSP app and click the “Connect” button
to connect your mobile to the
amplifier.
For iOS smart phones only:
1 Visit the Apple AppStore, search for „A500DSP“ and install the app.
2 Turn on Bluetooth.
3. Open the app and press the “Connect” button
in order to connect the amp with
the app.
1* In some cases with old headunits the Auto-Turn-On function cannot work. If you meet this problem, please just
put the separately provided wire “ACC-IN” into the connector of the connection cable and connect it to ACC/Amp
Remote of the car stereo or another cable which will provide +12 V only when the car stereo is turned on.
2* REM-Out: Connect this wire to the remote input of a separate amplifier, for example a mono amp for a subwoofer.
HIGH LEVEL INPUT
Run the provided Y-ISO connector cable (or the optional car-speci c P&P cable) from the
car stereo to the amp and connect the cable to this terminal. With this kind of connection
the A500DSP gets both the power supply and the ampli ed speaker signal from the head
unit. The A500DSP will then be switched on and off automatically when the head unit is
switched on and off.
LINE OUT
DSP-controlled signal to be forwarded to the ampli er or ampli ers. The subwoofer output
is a mono signal which is generated out of the four speaker signals.
RCA INPUTS FRONT AND REAR
Low-level RCA signal input for connection to the head-unit.
INPUT GAIN CONTROL FRONT AND REAR
Input gain potentiometer for front and rear channels, to match the output voltage of the
headunit to the preampli er’s input.
REM OUTPUT TERMINAL
Terminal to connect the remote-wire with the REM-Input of an ampli er. The A500DSP
turns then on/off the ampli er automatically.
REM INPUT TERMINAL
Terminal to connect the preampli er to the automatic (remote) turn-on / turn-off lead of the
headunit.
GND POWER INPUT TERMINAL
Terminal to connect the ampli er to the chassis ground or negative pole of the car battery.
BATT+ POWER INPUT TERMINAL
Terminal to connect the ampli er to the positive +12V pole of the car battery.

EQ Preferences
After the app has connected successfully,
the EQ menu appears automatically for you
to make your preferences.
With this parametric 7-band equalizer you
can correct the frequency response with
pinpoint accuracy.
If required, you can choose independent
equalizer preferences for the front and rear
channels. Simply press Front P.EQ or Rear
P.E Q .
When you have done the preferences,
touch the „Save to Amplier“ button
to transfer the preferences to the amplier.
During the saving process do not switch off
the amplier as this may lead to malfunction and/or damage. You can also save
the preferences on your smartphone. To
do this, press the „Save on Phone“ button
, and enter the desired lename.
Press
Front P.EQ
or Rear P.EQ.
In the line „f0“ tap on the band you want.
A pop-up window appears for you to enter
the value of the center frequency you want.
Conrm with „OK“.
In the line „Q“ tap on the band you want.
A pop-up window appears for you to enter
the value of the quality factor you want.
Conrm with „OK“. The quality factor (Q
factor) determines the effect of the EQ lter
(bandwidth) on the frequency band around
the chosen center frequency f0.
