Introduction
This example explains how to:
• Add an Axis network audio device to AXIS Camera Station and associate it with an Axis
network camera.
• Create a button in the camera’s live view in AXIS Camera Station, that makes the audio
device play an audio clip.
• Integrate the AXIS Audio Player in your AXIS Camera Station so you can schedule your
announcements.
Limitations:
• Audio sent from AXIS Camera Station to an AXIS network audio device cannot be
recorded.
• An audio device must be associated with a camera in AXIS Camera Station.
• You can only associate one audio device per camera.
• There is no volume control for the audio device in AXIS Camera Station.
This system set up is suitable for non-life critical systems, for
example intruder alarms or staff and customer address.
Specific guidelines and standards (local to the installation) must
be met for implementation in critical systems, such as fire
If you want to communicate to a bigger group of speakers, you
need to set up clusters using the webpage of your device.
Please set up your device using the manual for your product.
In this manual, communicate to the master speaker of your
cluster, to transfer the audio to all speakers in the cluster.

Add an AXIS network audio device to AXIS Camera Station
1. In AXIS Camera Station, click and select Configuration.
2. Go to Devices > Add devices.
3. Select the network audio device from the list and click Add.
4. Go to Other devices to check that the audio device has been added to the list.
Associate the audio device with a camera
1. In AXIS Camera Station, go to Devices > Streaming profiles and select the camera
that you want to associate the audio device with.
2. In the device’s streaming profile, select the audio device from the Speaker drop-
down.
3. Click Apply.

4. To test the association, go to the camera’s Live view in AXIS Camera Station and
click the Speak button. When you speak into the computer’s microphone, the audio
device plays the audio.
Prepare audio clip URL link
1. In the webpage of the audio device, go to Audio > Clips.
2. Select the required clip in the list of audio clips.
3. Set the volume and the number of times to repeat the clip.
4. Copy the configured link.

Create a button which triggers audio clip
1. In AXIS Camera Station, go to Configuration > Recording and events > Action
rules and click New.
2. Click Add to add a trigger.
3. In the list of triggers, select Action button and click OK.
4. Select Create new button and click Next.
5. Select Command button and click Next.
6. Enter the button details, for example:
• Button label: Perimeter warning
7. Tooltip: Warn people close to the fence
8. Add to camera: select the camera associated with the audio device.
9. Click Next twice.Click Add to add an action.In the list of actions, select Send HTTP
Notification and click OK.
10. Paste the configured link from the audio device in the URL field.
11. Check Authentication required and enter the User name and Password of the
audio device.
12. Click OK.
13. Click Next twice.

14. Enter a Name for the rule and click Finish.
In the camera’s live view in AXIS Camera Station, there is now a button
labelled Perimeter warning. When you click the button, the audio device plays the audio
clip.
You can associate one button with
multiple maps or cameras.

Add the AXIS Audio Player to AXIS Camera Station
You can add the AXIS Audio Player webpage to AXIS Camera station, so you can schedule your
music and announcements from 1 system.
You can do this the following way:
1. In the Live view tab select the “+” button in the right bottom of the screen.
2. Choose for “New Web Page”.
3. Give the web page a fitting name for the AXIS Audio Player for this speaker.
4. Add the following URL: “http(s)://## IP of the speaker ##/local/player/dist/index.html”
In your view bar, you will now find a link to your AXIS Audio Player.
When pressing this, you will be requested to log in to your speaker.
After logging in, you will have access to your scheduling of music and announcements in your
speaker(s).
You can arrange the user permissions for this webpage in AXIS Camera Station also, under
“Configuration > Security > User permissions”, under the tab “Views”.
